a reason for my Jacobs hesitation at uh the 24th overall pick is because there's a guy uh Marshon Lloyd who was the 25th pick in the third round by the Green Bay Packers uh right now he's his dynasty ranking according to fantasy pros is 120 overall RB 34 and I think he's just a great stash candidate um I I I believe he's a full three down back I I know they just paid uh Josh Jacobs but I I believe Marshon Lloyd can be the running back of the future for the Green Bay Packers as I said third round Capital that that's great uh this guy has all the metrics you're looking for 44640 36 inch vert 9 foot1 uh Broad and he just he's 5'9 220 pounds 92 percentile BMI so the guy has the requisite athleticism and size to be a Workhorse back in the NFL and I think he's a very talented back but and a very good situation in terms of a top scoring offense but uh he he's just um a guy I was pretty high on in the in the pre-draft process and I know he's a guy that people were trying to trade into the second round of the rookie drafts to try to get a guy like Marshon lyd just because he I mean he has a ton of upside in that offense if anything if anything happens to Jacobs and Marshon Lloyd comes on he could be he could be a League winner as early as this year but uh just over the last two seasons at USC he was top 20 in yards after contact per attempt Breakaway rate and E elusive rating so he was a clear um solid back in college over the past few years at USC has there the size the athletic athleticism and the three- down skill set so I think he's definitely a guy you can stash on your taxi Squad who could end up being a League winner this year if Jacobs goes down yeah it's it's funny you brought up Marshon Lloyd as a stash candidate I probably should have texted you who's your stash because uh that's actually my stash candidate as well so you know as you said I think Lloyd's uh definitely talented uh coming out of college um you know one thing I looked at though that I I guess it's maybe slightly more of a negative approach where I don't think he has as much 2024 um upside is you know even if um Jacobs gets hurt because you still do have AJ Dylan in there as well oh no not AJ Dylan where yeah I know I mean this is probably AJ Dylan's last year for sure but you definitely can't forget about him right so if you're saying you're on the one yard line um and uh Josh Jacobs is hurt they probably are going to have Dylan at the goal line so um that's one thing I looked at there but you know fortunately in Lloyd's situation uh this is Dylan's last year of his contract so as I mentioned he's probably going byebye um so I can see Marshon Lloyd um being one of the best handcuffs in football being a young running back um so I'm I'm kind of looking at him more to kind of Blossom in the 2025 season and I know as kamish has said uh many times that if if you really take a deep di of how Josh Jacobs a four-year contract that he just signed is structured um you could potentially look at him um being cut in the 2026 SE season which kind of does pave and paint a story for marshan Lloyd's starting potential but hey even if that doesn't happen you know as as we know in in in um in fantasy handcuffs can work out PR for you pretty well I know Allan Madison was not the starter that uh that we wanted him to be last year right but he was one heck of a handcuff um so I think you know Mar Lloyd I would compare him in fantasy right now as like an allen Madison of the future uh somebody I would really trust uh you know if somebody if Like A Jacobs goes down so Marshon Lloyd as uh also my stash candidate and and Ethan you might like this one where you know coming out of uh USC might have that uh Rojo potential there too where oh Rojo's my guy that's right he's got to come back that's right he may maybe he'll make a come back uh season May actually maybe uh you know that was kind of that was uh Rojo maybe took some of darnold's success maybe Lloyd took some of uh Cale Williams success over there yeah poor Rojo I was I was always so high on Rojo I was hoping he'd eventually uh break through and uh he he never did unfortunately but um looking just looking at Jacob's contract according to spot track.com it's it's I feel like there is actually a potential out after the 2024 season I think with a post 61 release date in 2025 it would it would it would have a dead cap of 3.1 but uh they'd save $8.2 million next year and it would kind of push the dead cap hit into 2026 which would be 6. uh2 6.3 roughly million in 2026 so if Jacobs does go out there and is injured and Marti lyd starts to come come come on who knows with Josh Jacobs maybe he won't even be there after 2024 you know how these contracts are uh heavily weighted in those first couple years and there's outs all over the place so uh it there's never a sure thing especially at the running back position I agree I mean there is that scenario I mean they can also I mean if he has a good 2024 season they might be able to play around and convert some of that money um in 20 2025 right um you know does he stick around one more season Poss possibly but what they're doing when they when they restructure that contract is just make you know making that dead money uh less of an impact in the in those future years too so I think both scenarios can work out you know they could potentially drop them after this season but it would be kind of hard to to drop him if he has this uh amazing season but I think you know as you mentioned how it's structured there's a lot of play in wiggle room that uh gives the Green Bay Packers to kind of do whatever they want with it
