California Heat Wave Coming: Cooler temperatures are not here to stay: Weather Today | KTVU

photo. >> So take a look at the weather today. Pretty noticeable how much cooler it was today than yesterday, a good 5 to 10 degrees cooler today. And then we go back the other way. So it was hot last week. Then it cooled off for the weekend. Now it's going to heat up again Monday, Tuesday and even into Wednesday. With that heat advisory and an extreme heat warning for parts of the inland Bay valleys. The reason it cooled off today is because this low right there, that low is going to evaporate starts tomorrow. The inversion is still pretty deep, but that means the fog. But it's pretty deep. But it's going to pinch down tonight. And that begins this event which is yellow representing a heat advisory. Red areas basically in the East Bay, inland Bay valleys. That's the Livermore Valley that's out towards Concord and Walnut Creek. We're going to be seeing temperatures in the low one hundreds out there. So it's going to be real hot. And then you see the Central Valley, a heat advisory or extreme heat warning in red south of, say, Modesto. There's the fog. It's a little shallower than it has been. And as it was this weekend, it little deeper. And that was why it was cool. It was very pleasant. It's interesting how we do have really short weather memories. So last week it was hot. The weekend it was cool. The next couple of days it's going to be hot again or well above average and very warm to hot. Depends where you are. But places like San Jose will be in the low 90s and that's pretty warm. Like today. San Jose is 74 right now. It's not too bad, but when you get up to 9293 degrees in San Jose, it's pretty hot. These are the departures from yesterday. So it did cool down because of the deeper inversion. Tomorrow it's going to warm up a solid. Heck it's going to warm up ten degrees tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be very noticeable on the heat. It's not extreme heat. I don't expect records and it's not going to last. It's a three day event and then done with with a moderate sea breeze, which will be nice. This is the forecast footprint for tomorrow. But again it's any heat. As we say. It's the thing that really does cause the most, harm to people, animals, children, everybody. And you know, it's really a all, ubiquitous sort of a weather event when you get, you know, 99 degrees in Santa Rosa, 92 in San Jose. Those are big cities with lots of people. Fairfield, 102 degrees tomorrow, 102 in Antioch. I wouldn't be surprised to see some kind of air quality alert come into effect at some point here, Monday or Tuesday? Wednesday. It's going to cool off a little bit. But again, this is nothing we can't manage. We're going to be fine. It's just another hot run and then it cools off nicely. And this is that sort of roller coaster of summer, right? The high builds in it heats up. This is tomorrow and Tuesday and Wednesday and then the high backs away, the low comes close to us and things cool down. And as you look at the forecast for the weekend, you can see temperatures stay on the cool side. So it's kind of similar to what we had last week. So
