hey guys how's it going it's Andy and welcome to another video on the channel in today's video I'm going to be eating some hard candy some assorted mints and toughies [Applause] I also have how awesome is this H this Pokemon these are the original starters Pikachu Squirtle Charmander Bulbasaur there's nothing too special in there it's just some black c pop it's got a cool little Poké ball yeah so we're going to be doing this and going to be having a little music chat so I woke up this morning to the news that uh Lincoln Park one of my favorite bands have a new singer let's get into it if you could remember to like the video and subscribe to the channel let's get these sweet up okay so C you're really random buching cup think there an him for that kind of clear mint thing I know I like them ones I think they're a bit like a hbook type of thing reminds you of the sort of sweets that y Nan used to pull out of a bag for you or something like that so that's definitely a h book I'm guess this is going to be a toughy I'm going to have this one first oh yeah yeah it's like a Min off it's actually quite that's what she said sh of the day Universal monsters it's actually one of my favorite shirts I'm going to start talking soon such a is really hot Che it what okay so so I woke up this morning just going about my day la la la la la getting my coffee having my breakfast and I open up Tik Tok and yes I'm on Tik Tok it's beard Whispers ASMR you be You' be able to find me and um so Lincoln Park apparently put some kind of a countdown and there's been speculation for a little while and they've got a new singer I think she's called Emily Anderson something like that um it's a little bit of controversy about I don't know if it's true or not I'm not going to go into that stuff in the video but um you'll be able to if you just search her then you'll be able to find that stuff out and anyway I'm not so I'm not really talking about that so linking park to me are one of my alltime favorite bands they are definitely in my top 10 and they are probably pushing my top five if not in my top five um I love them so I'm 30 I'm nearly 38 years old and um they came out when I was you know like um they argue that like one of your most sort influential ages is when you're a teenager that's when you you know you start forming a lot of your personality your interests and things like that and finding out what you love and I remember uh to this day right I could be wrong on this but I think the first video that Lincoln Park released at least in the UK I think it was one step closer and I was hooked the the new metal sort of uh era took me and I was just obsessed with it and like a lot of people my age and I loved linkoln Park um like their first album Hybrid Theory is he has a really special place in my art um you know I remember like I'm just wonder what to put a swe put a sweet I remember this one time H I don't know if they still do it or anything anymore but when I was younger we used to go on school trips and sometimes you go away for like the weekend and things like that and I remember way before we had iphon I used to have this um CD Walkman I think it was a Sony one and uh you could obviously just put one CD in it and it was funny because uh I used to dress like a new metal kind of that style I remember I had these backy jeans that I wore all the time and they had big Pockets but my my wman was um you know fairly big and I remember he always had to like squeeze it in my pockets and whenever you did a southern movement or something sometimes the track could Skip and stuff like that and point story but I remember when I went on this one school trip I think it was defile I think that would there for about two days three days something like that and the only CD that I had was hybrid FY um in my wman that's the only one I took with me I remember listening to it nonstop all the way through it's such a good album in terms of new metal that album Hybrid Theory is up there with new metal gold it's just amazing every single track is is what I class as a 10 out of 10 album like every every song on it is a non Skipper you just love every song and so obviously if enjoyed all the music I love linol Park unfortunately that one of the B seen a lot of bands but linking back one of the Bands I never got to see which is a shame for me really and although I'm not going to go into it in this video I've suffered in the past with my mental health quite a bit I went through a really bad stage of depression and Link B was one of those bands that helped me through things music and horror films typically help me relax and you know Chester Bennington uh rest in peace is one of my alltime favorite vocalists I thought it's like the old saying he screamed like a demon and sang like an angel or backwards whichever way it was I like so in my life there's only been because celebrities whatever they do musicians actors whatever we don't actually know them and when someone dies it's like you know he's like oh it's a bit sad but you don't know them do you there's only ever been a few people in my life where somebody's died that I've not known and I felt genuine sadness because you create a bond whatever it is and it's something just feels close to you and for me Chester pton was one of those people um and with suffering with depression and things like that and you know you real like you can hear it in his lyrics you uh you know you he granted he didn't write all the lyrics M sh wrote a lot as well but he delivered most of them and he can feel his pain which is like heartbreak and anyway so obviously a really sad time when linking Park um you know when it came out it died and Lincoln Park stopped making music so I've kind of always knew this would come in for a while now um I've got really mixed emotions about it but I'll try and be I'll try and not sit on the fence if I can I woke up and there's a lot of really negative I've seen positive stuff but there's a lot of negative stuff about this um singer the new singer and some of it is unjustified I've seen some of it which is because she's a female people at Happ I think that's bang out of order that's just shouldn't even come into it now there has been bands I'm trying to think over the top of me head um bands which have lost like their singer and either stopped or they've gone on and succeeded or failed I mean there'll probably be some that I miss but L daily from Alice in Chains amazing s by the way I love Alison James They carried on but it's not the same like and Nana obviously um K Cain they stopped and Dave girl went on and F the food fires you know Freddy Mercury arguably one of the greatest front men to ever exist and I know they kept going with the guy Adam Lambert um backed on or if they made any new music with Adam lamber I think they just t a little bit something like this goes on Morrison from the doors you know things like that anyway point is is that with your singer your frontman and I'm a little bit of a musician it's tough because unless you've got somebody who's like really iconic like music you know on guitar or Bass uh drums whatever typically just need to have a little bit of a drink typically you could replace a musician and get away with it plenty of bands of had musicians which have died or you know left the band you know things like that but with your front man are your front woman You singer is really difficult because um you know when you think about Pon Scott with ACDC people are mixed on that because people love both of them but Pon Scott was amazing and but then they got U Brian Brian Johnson is it um but he's amazing as well and they made it work but you singer so is what you known for is what people recognize is in your band and it's I I think it's a really delicate situation and it's a really tough one because because of like what I mentioned I felt like when I think Lincoln BG don't get me wrong I think of the you know I think of maxan 's raps but typically think of Chester PT's amazing vocals and lyrics it's like even though the Lincoln Park isn't wasn't Chester bennington's originally I think it was Max J's project but you know they were together and for me when Chester Bennington died Lincoln B died that's just my opinion now I'm not saying that they've they haven't got the right to go and do other stuff or anything like that because of course they have it's just a real tough one and it's like I watched uh some clips that I've seen of lincol Park and this new singer and I'm just not sure man I'm just not sure I think it's going to divide a lot of people you're obviously going to have your people who take it over the top and start being dis disrespectful that's not what I'm here for I think best Cas scenario I think that um I think people are going to separate them I think they're going to be like okay so this is linking part with this person but the real Lincoln part with jester Payton that's what I prefer and that's where I think this is going to go and it's like it's like panta so obviously Vinnie and uh D back darl from Pantera died and they been touring recently with Z wild who I love by the way but it's like people say it's not really panta though is it you get where I'm going with this it's a tough one it's a tough one I mean I've watched them sing I've watched L about with a new with a new singer and I don't know I'm not a fan I'm not a fan and I'm saying that as respectfully as I can I've matured a lot for talking 15 years ago I'd have probably been going bananas right now but obviously I look at things through different a different lens nowadays it's so sad because in a way kind of like brings Chester bennington's death back up and like I say I never knew the guy but I feel genuine sadness when I think about Chester Ben and dying I'm sure you you know people out there I've got people like that that is yeah I'm sure they can relate so I don't know man I personally think they'll probably do one album which is the new one I think it's called from zero I believe Lincoln Park's first ever band name was zero and they've got a tour I think they'll do the tour I don't know man I don't know how long I can see it lasting but I am ultimately if I had to give you my am I a fan of it am I not a fan I've got to be honest with you I'm not um this is only my opinion it doesn't mean I'm right or wrong or anything like that but I just feel like they should have gone in I don't know I don't know what to say p me wants to say say I wish they uh did like a side project you know a bit like uh when Creed split up Mark trante the basist and the drummer went off with Scot St and did um alterbridge and Dron and you know I kind of feel like they should have done something like that because it's like I think he puts an unfair amount of pressure on the new singer as well whether you like her or not because she's singing Chester's songs and he's never going to be as good as Jester you could have an amazing amazing singer and he's never going to be Jester Everyone is always going to say that whether you appreciate it or not I think it's quite unfair it's a tough position to be in this one's kind of broken this so people have been saying eyes is dishonorable to Chester and people have saying it's honoring his memory I don't think there's a right or wrong I think whatever you think is fine in regards to that it's just a weird one or maybe I'd have like to see Lincoln Park I do new stuff with nobody else or I've gu singers on like they did the um they did a concert while they were honoring him people like Jonathan Davis from corn Fred Li biscuit all kinds of different singers you know making guest appearances but not replacing Chester I do really have I felt I had to speak about it and just remember it's only my opinion your opinion is just as valid as my opinion but um I can speak on it from the position of like I've been there I've been a fan since the beginning man yeah so um is a real t one and I don't think there's any right or wrong unless you're just being outright disrespectful for no reason it's all tough but it'd be interesting I will um I'll give the album a listen when it comes out if it's not out already I'm not sure I just like I said my my opinion is no no more valid than anyone else's but in my opinion like I've seen a few comments on Tik Tok and people have said it seems a bit like a cover band like a tribute band and I think I tend to agree with that a little bit but I don't know it's like I think it's always different I think if I's say you like a p but you don't love them and you you're a bit NE n know there you can be a bit like oh yeah well whatever it doesn't matter but I think if you have got a deep connection with that band I think you can have a stronger opinion AR you however way but all in all I I hope it's a good album I'll give it a listen I might even um do a little video on it I'm not sure but more importantly guys what do you think have you got any comments on this are you a linol park fan that genre music anything
