this football game but uh I mean you had opportunities and when you get down to the 30 to 20 the 10 you get in the red zone and you can't score touchdowns you got to look at your play calling I mean you you can't just keep trying to run the ball on first and second down when you're really not getting the push you want and become obvious that on third down you're going to throw the football every one little off throw he threw to Nick Harbor that took Nick out of bounds he was okay I mean a little bit High Nick caught it he just too close to the sideline it's not like he Lenor shers wasn't out there throwing interceptions oh they barely gave him a chance to throw the ball but they didn't make it easy either we had no passes the tight ends no passes the running backs I mean hunt Brady hunt had to he dropped one that's not Lenor s's fault that the tight end dropped a pass now if Lenor sers not had not tripped up Juju McDow I was probably a house call for Juju that was another touchdown that was a freak [ __ ] that happen they cost us points you know if you go back you think you had the the trick play for a touchdown and got called back for that you had juu McDow and Lenor sers tripping tripping him up which would have probably been a touchdown there was a lot of [ __ ] in there that South Carolina could have scored more but you shouldn't have to use trickery to beat a team like ODU ODU either like I said people go back and look at ODU from last year they were in 11 games that uh was the final score was within a touchdown and don't run an offense that you see every day unless you play Tennessee every day they run Tennessee offense all you had to do is look at the wide receivers and how far spread out they were and that and the defense played awesome they could have give up a [ __ ] more points than they did they created turnovers and got them when you needed them the defense won this game and I don't think there's a South Carolina fan that thought this offense was going to win their first couple games the defense has to be good until you're young quarterback to go out and think Lenor sers was going to set the world on fire what going to happen you have to make it easier for him though you can't be predictable and you got to get your weapons the ball the only thing we tried to do was run Lenor sers and run rocket Sanders the couple passes that he threw that he threw off and then we just I didn't see no no screen passes to the running backs no screen passes to the wide receivers I saw nothing creative out of our offense other than just thinking we were going to line up and run over ODU and it didn't work and then it like we didn't even know how to switch game plans at that point you're not just going to line up a 240 pound quarterback and 225 pound running back and think you're going to run over SEC football teams it ain't going to happen the defense played excellent give them credit and they're going to have to tote this football team until our quarterback comes in their Zone and gain some experience and any real South Carolina fan y'all know this was going to happen that the defense has to tote this football te and then like I said anywhere around the Red Zone offensive wise we got to figure something out because that was just a disaster tonight I don't know what we got to do to figure out our red zone offense but we we move the ball you get to the anywhere around the Red Zone and we could it just fell apart after that whether it was penalties negative plays it's like we had you got 64 65 wide receivers you got 66 65 tight ends nothing was thrown to the those guys when we got in the Red Zone we just tried to power it in no creativity no selling nothing it's like I understand trying to hold back some plays and not let Kentucky see everything but you just can't go out there and do that no I I know what you're saying Steve Austin I'm not mad at you you can say whatever you want to I'm just saying how does it translate against SEC teams we don't know because if if you go to Kentucky and you just lay a big old [ __ ] ball there then it's not going to be good the rest of the year then you're lucky the one game you do win in SEC is Vanderbilt but hey judging by the way Clemson played today I ain't saying Clemson's no better than South Carolina either they got their ass handled by Georgia I mean yeah he stepped up and played good against Virginia Tech Florida's terrible I know we don't play them but I mean what are we re what are we judging off of you look at Texas ain't right now they're struggling with Notre D they don't look any better than we do well Christopher Adams the problem is we got to score a touchdown where the ball's not given to us uh we need a long drive and your offense go down the field and score a touchdown not a turnover where we only got to go five yards to get a touchdown Billy Co says Vandy ain't no automatic W for Tennessee yeah probably not Vandy likes beating Tennessee I don't care what you say oh yeah well well look at it this way Steve Austin we got uh 11 more games to get our offensive line better before we play Clemson but their offensive line is too good either but then again H we don't know next week we come out and all these things to look really good this weekend the SEC might look like crap next week right now A&M in Notre d in a power struggle of six points each with the what you got one minute left until halftime game one's hard to judge except for last year we knew our ass was in trouble in North Carolina when we gave up nine sacks and then they went out and [ __ ] the bed the following week The Supporting Cast yeah supporting gas what AR's trying to say is yeah it's not just the quarterback but it like Playmakers have to make plays but to be honest our offensive coordinators got to be a little more creative in getting Playmakers balls in their hand like I said when they put Brown in at running back and they did the little trick handoff thing with a wide receiver run the ball he made a great ass play and then you never saw it again it's like you something work but don't ever use it again the [ __ ] that don't work let's continuously do that let not adjust our play call it I don't think it was a good offensive game plan if you want my honest opinion I get it you want to out physical Old Dominion but they have a linebacker that over the past two years has had damn near 400 tackles and then you get predictable on offense and they bring these blitzes with a three-man front and nobody picks up the blitz like no one learn this defense was going to Blitz and you you end up emptying out the back field so there's no blocker back there and they just rush more people than you got hats to block but we did it multiple times that's the problem the first time it didn't work we didn't learn from it let's just keep trying it just doesn't make no sense the the the I don't know the game plan I don't know I'm just not an insanity person that keeps trying to do the same thing over and over and over and expect a different result I get it you wait on Rocket Sanders to pop one long big one by just repeatedly keep handing the ball but you got another running backs in there you had no no single pass went to a running back not one not one screen play not one quick slant pass nothing was fast to get a Young quarterback getting the football out of his hand on quick release stuff you just kept trying to run the ball and then all of a sudden he's trying to make a play on a third and seven and he gets sacked what no Rome wasn't been day but I understand Steve's frust I understand all South Carolina frustr I get frustrated too I want to win too I don't want to be a mediocre program but I'm not going to sell my team down the river after the first game of the year where everyone's trying to figure everything out and you got a bunch of young ass football players you got a true fman starting to tackle you got a A guy that played how many I mean a handful of plays Lenor sers played last year and that's because South Carolina can never get ahead enough of any football team to get the kid in the game when he came in he play good he ran over Vanderbilt thre the ball well tonight first start over through the ball hell those players have been around five years and still overthrow the damn ball Billy people got some questions to answer and I think it's in that coaching staff I don't know who the hell set up that game plan but it wasn't the best I don't the problem is Steve the offensive line is not as bad as last year the problem is when you put an offensive line in a predictable situation of a third and seven where they know you have to throw the football they're going to bring it they're going to bring pressure they're going to bring blitzes and you have to be prepared to block them in South Carolina was not and that's not on the offensive line a Blitzer has to be picked up most of the time by if the offensive lineman don't get them you got to have a line a running back in the backfield to pick that Blitz up and South Carolina just didn't do it man the play designs were terrible if you look at that overall I mean I look when sellers went down it was mostly in a predictable passing down but we never tried to change it up there was no how many times we try to throw the ball on first down how many times do we try to go deep to back them off of the line and make us think that we were going to throw the ball deep two maybe three times the whole game that sellers tried to throw it deep too predictable man look I know you got superstar in rocket Sanders and you're trying to get in the ball as much as you can get in the ball but you just can't can't be you can't get to the
