all right, well, we're starting with a check on the tropics where at this point in this season. we are a couple of days away from the peak of the season but activity has been really eerily quiet in the Atlantic we are tracking 4 areas right now. but notice all of them. very low development Odds we do have this 1, Is approaching the Gulf of Mexico still only about a 30% chance that this develops into something. We have something just off the east coast there but a 30% shot for that to develop as well. But then this little area in the Gulf of Mexico not really impressive and another tropical wave just kicking off the coast of Africa. Only about a 10% chance for that to develop. So we'll be watching all of those areas. But at this point, things relatively pretty quiet over the next couple of days. But wow, has it been a rainy start to septembar? We brought up August 1 of the rainiest on record for a lot of Bay Area spots. and already. we've gotten a month's worth of rain. in just a couple of days as we started septembar. especially Tuesday and Wednesday. some big rain, totals coming down over 8 inches, at the Tampa, International Airport, in our normal rain, for the entire month of September's That fell last night, Pretty heavy for parts of pulk County where some spots. topping out over. 4 inches of rain. in just a couple of hours. so, as we look at our rain chances here, moving through the weekend. coverage pulled back just a bit today tomorrow about 40% storm chances those bump back up to 60% coverage. comes Sunday and the start of next week and 1 of our big whether players here is this front that's been stalled out just to the north of Tampa Bay over the last couple of days and that's going to help enhance. Storm coverage today. and through the weekend, especially parts of the Panhandle. Look at where all the rain is right now for parts of the gulf across the southeast as well. So expect some pretty big rain totals across parts of North Florida here in the next coming days. So as for the timing of today's storms, we'll be looking good through the morning a good deal of sun kind of a suncloud mix into the early afternoon hours. and 2:00 a couple of those will start to pop up along the coast kind of travel Inland pretty quickly. So notice how isolated the coastal storms are. then as they start to travel Inland, expecting that heavier coverage to the east of 75, right around 7 8:00. well, and CRC Breeze is kind of collide with some stronger storms from p down-and-out. It's it's right around here From parts of Tallahassee and off to the west where we really could use some rain there. Drought conditions. still about 78% of the state completely drought-free. There's a look at our highs today from about 90 to 92. So it's going to be pretty close to seasonal for this time of year. mid to Upper 70s for many of us for lows tonight.
