IR Creation Compeition Announcement: $6,000+ Prizes from ‪@NVIDIA‬ ‪@SonibleCom‬ ‪@ScanComputers‬ & more!

foreign Tina here from GPU audio we recently closed the few uncursed scoring and sound design Challenge and we are very excited to announce the next opportunity for you guys to get creative with us when gpus and laptops and so much more so let's get into it GPU audio has been using a convolution Reverb plugin to test a GPU compatibility across your various Computing platforms running heavy convolution algorithms with impulse responses has given us the ability to test gpus from Nvidia AMD and as of now Apple M1 and M2 Reverb is one of the most important aspects in creating music that unfolds The Listener and convolution reverbs offer the most realistic source for creating virtual spaces so for this challenge we will be collaborating with you and a host of special guests to create the ultimate impulse responses for compilation our competition is a creative collaboration focused on creating unique and fun and people's responses to test out on the GPU audio fir convolver plugin the results will be judged by some incredible musicians and producers from YouTube with over six thousand dollars of prices from Nvidia AMD scan.co.uk sunable bpb music by Lucas present-day Productions and more together with them you'll embark on a journey to make the most interesting useful coolest and creative impulse responses ever and to share those with the GPU audio Community entering the challenge is done in three simple steps first register on gpu.audio secondly create an IR using any method you choose Hardware software or from natural spaces and upload your IR processing the sounds from our assets pack to YouTube with the hashtag GPU audio ir and lastly send in your IR a description of how it was made from your registered email address to IR competition at brainjeans.com click here or check the link in the description for the full details now let's help Define things a little bit more for those who need it first what is an IR in the simplest terms an Impulse response is a recording that acts as a snapshot or model of the acoustic properties of a space such as a room outdoor space or even an amplifier cabinet recording IRS is relatively simple at the basic level you provide an Impulse such as a hand clamp or short strike or a sine wave sweep and the reverberation is captured as the response this IR file can be uploaded into a convolution or convolver Plugin such as the GPU audio fir convolver which allows it to be used as a Reverb or virtual space for you to perform mix and master your sounds within the IR serves as an extremely useful copy of the natural Acoustics of the space you are trying to capture getting creative even even though you might think that getting the perfect impulse response capture is the ideal outcome for making a Reverb extra sounds known as artifacts are actually really cool and fun to work with as well for example if your hands clap triggers a piece of metal to ring at a particular frequency or if there's a sound of someone talking in the background far away in the space these sounds can make it into the Reverb and have some surprising effects when loaded into the convolver plug-in so have fun take some risks and get creative even further IRS don't necessarily have to be rooms or spaces you can turn almost anything into an IR with interesting results and that's it the competition starts now and closes on the 23rd of February at 11 59 PM Pacific Standard time I'm really looking forward to hear what you guys come up with if you have any questions please ask them in the comments below and also make sure you like this video And subscribe to keep up to date with this challenge also check out the public playlist where we will be posting all videos of Creator submissions as well as those of our YouTube collaborators that's it thank you guys for watching and have fun [Music]
