Better Beer Words of Wisdom: Rod Wishart 🏉

thank you [Applause] wish all gets the try [Laughter] my name's Rod wishart I'm 54. I used to be a NRL player played for the illawarra Steelers for 10 years they merged with uh with some George and became what most people now know as this Georgie Laura Dragon so I'll retired and then I started a new business we do Automotive paints it's called wishart's Paint Solutions that's what pays the bills for me and been doing that for about 17 or 18 years what advice would you give your 25 year old self when I was 25 there wasn't as many options for uh for for young people like these days it's pretty good opportunity for young 25 year old kids to uh to explore so many different boundaries in life and have the confidence that just to do it yourself if you like better beer drink better beer if you're like wearing a leather jacket around put it on you know I just think that in in the past that Society sort of governs what you should have done or could have done but nowadays you've got so many options go out and do it I'd like to share this with everyone because my my oldest brother when I was uh 22 he was uh 27. his life was cut short he had an asthma attack and and died playing touch football and during my football career he there wasn't too many opportunities he didn't say to me before a game go hard it's a simple thing but I think I've always sort of followed that in life just to go go hard and don't leave anything in the tank pretty simple sort of motto but if you do everything to your full capacity and do it at the best of your ability um I don't think you can go wrong I think yeah 27 your whole life's in front of you unfortunately it was it was cut short for him who was the sort of fellow that he went hard he didn't leave anything in the tank and and you never know what around the corner so do as much as you can fulfill your life as much as you can don't wait for for other people or or other opportunities to instigate you know opportunities for yourself go out and do it yourself and and just keep going forward
