morning everyone and happy Friday. This will be another rainy day. Showers will continue on and off for the rest of today and tonight. Skies will remain cloudy throughout today. Winds will also be a little breezy. Winds will be out of the northeast around 10 mph. The flood watch has been extended until 7 am Saturday. Most, but not all, the Greater Baton Rouge are included in the flood watch. The parishes in our viewing that are included are Assumption, Iberville, East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Livingston and Ascension. Showers have been moving through our area since late Wednesday morning/early Wednesday afternoon. This is due to a disturbance in the Gulf. It's a large area of showers and thunderstorms attached to a broad area of low pressure near a frontal boundary. This is going to continue moving east through the Gulf. Baton Rouge received 4.12" of rainfall on Thursday. Late tonight and into early Saturday morning, a cold front will move through our area. Initially, we were seeing a completely dry day for Saturday, but now, there may still be some rain during the morning. The New Orleans area will still have rain for most of tomorrow, but the Baton Rouge area will have it through at least the late morning. Isolated showers may still be passing through early Saturday morning, but the rest of the day will be drier.
