Lady Gaga is sharing rare insight into her relationship with fiance Michael palansky the 38-year-old shares in an October cover story for Vogue that her mental health has come a long way from where it was during the release of her last album chromatica in 2020 partially due to Michael's influence the global Superstar tells the outlet quote I had never met anyone like Michael he's so smart and so kind and his life and and my life are very different he's a very private guy and he's not with me for any other reason than that we are right for each other she adds but I think what I want my fans to know is that I'm just like so happy Lady Gaga goes on to open up about her mental health and the creation of her chromatica album saying quote I feel like the last time they heard from me in this way was chromatica and that album was about an absolutely horri time for me with my mental health the Rain On Me singer elaborates how her fiance helped to change all that saying quote I was in a really dark place I struggled for like many years before that but everything started to change because I had a real friend who saw the ways in which I was unhappy and why and he wasn't afraid to truly hold my hand and get to know me on a very deep level later in the interview lady Gaga confesses quote the missing piece in my life was having real love before continuing on to reveal that the two got engaged in April after a day of rock climbing as for how their love story began the musician shares that her and the philanthropist connected at a friend's party before staying together for over a year at her Malibu home during the covid-19 pandemic it was really kind of special she says I'd been so focused on my career year since I was a teenager and the gift of that time was that I got to completely focus on my relationship I met this totally supportive loving human being who wanted to get to know me outside of Lady Gaga [Music]
