so shortly around 5:00 or so our crews were called out to a report of a structure fire here at the apartment complex on Long spur the initial Crews arrived and they found Fire coming from two apartments on the second and third floor and um as they were initially beginning to pull hose and start extinguishing the fire they had two victims appear in a third story window so our crews reacted to that they threw a ladder and they were able to uh remove the two victims from the third story those victims are in critical condition and they have been transported by Austin Travis County EMS and um after that Crews were able to um stop the fire before it spread to adjacent apartment so we had at least two or three Apartments damaged they kept it from getting in the attic and from spreading across to the rest of the building so a very good stop on the Fire Stop on the forward progression of the fire um very very busy in the in the first few minutes of this fire dealing with the uh the apartments and the victims but um overall a really good solid job putting the fire out and um now we are working on getting the resident temporary housing working with red cross and apartment management we've got uh an unknown number displaced right now it's at least 30 or so right now everybody in the building is out and uh we're going to look at reoccupying maybe some of the unaffected Apartments but we've got at least four or five apartments that will not be able to be reoccupied so we're working with red cross and um apartment management to try and get those folks temporarily housed
