all right well what is going on Buckeye Battle Cry Nation how you doing tonight it's another Thursday we're happy to join you and hopefully uh you know many of you will join us for this live tonight A Lot on the table of course the the game's best weekends uh the weekend's best games man I'm tired from work uh Alabama versus Wisconsin we're going to be discussing of course um Kansas State versus Arizona the only two ranked match ups the weekend but um and of course Ohio State Center topics as well as we kind of discuss what we do on on off weeks and bi-weeks you know a little bit and just how we approach those do we still binge watch college football or or do we go out and enjoy the nice fall weather we'll get into that a little bit later but of course uh other topics as well Buckeye uh are expanding the Horseshoe and doing some new clubs and of course freshman wide receivers are taking over the sport as we've seen all across the nation Nick Marsh from Michigan State JJ Smith at Ohio State and Ryan Williams down in B they are absolutely dominating in these first couple weeks of college football before we uh we dive into those topics man what's going on Rob how you doing today I'm uh I'm doing good doing good you know just uh enjoying the week the the work week's almost over man uh uh birthday's coming up literally about four more days going to be 34 tomorrow tomorrow night the uh family and I we're going to go to Pizza populist or you know we may change last second go to Grand Bob's Pizzeria or Michigan Trumble you know whatever place we'll uh we'll be good but you know I haven't I haven't been on that big of a pizza cake lately um I mean I wait but you know I I've been on I've been on diet you know was pushing 230 and I'm just like something's got to change you know I'm I'm down to 208 now so and I started this like at the end of August so you know it's uh actually no uh that's coming off pretty quick the the SEC the middle of August I started it so it's it's been like it's almost been a month but dude tried some really good pizza in Pittsburgh uh last uh last weekend it's uh it's called fuori Pizzeria it's uh Pittsburgh Pennsylvania uh pornoy gave it a 7.8 dude it did not disappoint it was a nice traditional round uh cheese pepperoni pie uh you know you got that crisp no flop um the crust was Sensational um kind kind of disappointing with the they could have put more pepperonis on there but overall I like I give I give it like 8.6 dude eight point like 8.7 8.6 dude it it was that good sounds like a spot to hit but still but still Freddy the pets man has gotten a 9.2 9.3 with me so I'm still looking for because you know what there there's different styles there's Detroit style there's New York style uh you know um but in terms of Detroit style I'm still looking for uh it's it's a toss right now between a Lou and uh pizza populis so I you know what I I think I think uh Friday I think I'm going change it to Michigan Trumble it's it's it's a new place I I know what I'm getting from pizza populis so it's a new place it looks like pretty affordable Pizza um not so they don't give larges do they no they got one standard size and how many pieces eight yeah eight it's not it's not it's not all that big but you know oh okay it's uh like we it would feed it would feed three people it would feed three people that's it yeah all right definitely definitely I'll take into big consideration but I I was looking at um Grandma Bob's Pizzeria they have a it looks like they have a really good bar pie um you know it's it's that it's the thin crust the uh you know cutting to like uh rectangle uh slices um I got all right other than that let's uh let's get started uh so yeah you were talking about the uh you were talking about the Freshman wide receivers that we have so I think that you know the top three right now uh JJ Smith Alabama I mean JJ Smith Ohio State Ryan Williams that's that's the thing JJ Smith and Ryan Williams they it's it's gonna I it's gonna be a big toss up at the end of the season like they both could give each other Run for the money for uh freshman of the year uh yeah freshman All American yeah for sure JJ Smith Ohio State Ryan Williams Alabama and Nick Marsh is from what school Peter Michigan State yeah he's killing it for the Spartans yeah he man Aiden Charles have quite the connection man he put up I think he put up the biggest day uh outside of um Arizona's uh receiver who put up 300 yards in that one game the opening game of the season I think Nick Marsh has the second best second highest number of yards in one game he had 194 dropped on Maryland's head and a touchdown on eight receptions and him and Charles just were on fire but yeah to your point I think Ryan I think Ryan Williams and and JJ Smith are going to be competing for that freshman All-American list and they're going to be compared probably their entire careers much like Julio Jones and AJ Green from Georgia and Alabama respectively but dude like just seeing JJ Smith is his first two games dude that that is a man amongst boys dude the the the second game where he uh he caught the pass and uh he yeah he caugh he caught the pass in the flats and just was Off to the Races that's crazy man with the Defenders and just just beat everybody that dude's a dog and you know what I I think that he is going to uh beat the record of touchdowns in a season his his uh his freshman year I so I think it was um keep talking while keep talking Chris Carter has a record right now with eight touchdowns and uh he's already got three through two games now competition caveat Supply we played akan and Western Michigan and but the thing is if you've watched ball for a long time and you know ball you understand JJ Smith Jeremiah Smith is an elite athlete an elite receiver it's so uncommon to take a hitch route to the house like he wasn't even touched on the hitch route that's the thing like who doesn't get at least a hand on someone on a hitch route like that's what I heard of so here's the list 1984 Chris Carter had eight touchdowns as a freshman 1996 David Boston seven touchdowns 2019 Garrett Wilson five touchdowns yeah um 20 2004 Ted gin Jr four touchdowns 2024 Jeremiah Smith three and The Season's not even close to being over yeah1 Marvin Harrison Jr had three dude that that just that shows you how good the wide receiver room is because Marvin Harrison had those three touchdowns in the bowl game that I'm I'm pretty or did he have two I think it was two and Smith and jig but had three yeah and Chris olve that in 2018 he got those three touchdowns let alone the Michigan game so that wide that just shows you how talented that wide receiver roomz well his body came in ready to play college football am I wrong like he looks like a monster already yeah I mean he he could easily if if you were eligible as a after freshman year to go to the NFL he'd be he'd be able to play like no doubt no no question he he's he's Uber talented man I can't wait to see what kind of mindset he brings into the big games um you know obviously you know akan Western Michigan is awesome seeing him perform out the gate because even with all the Elite Talent we've had we haven't seen this level of production like you were saying this early in the season sure at the end of the season with both Marvin olve Wilson Smith and jiga Harrison all these guys but he's doing it right out the gate now now me personally I want to see versus in the big games Oregon Penn State even Iowa it's going to tell me a lot about what he uh what he can do for us in the big games I think he'll deliver I have no question about it that he'll deliver you know but the competition will rise versus the big opponents yeah so Ryan Williams is on so through two games he has 207 reception yards and three receiving touchdowns y so only six grabs though that's insane I saw that dude just just six grabs that's like a 50 yard average bro like legitimate yeah so if if you if you divide that so 207 divide by six yeah it's about 50 that's that's 34.5 average so dude that's like that's like NFL stats it's like watching like de DeAndre Hopkins just out of nowhere you see or Devonte Adams you see him get five grabs for 21 yards it's just it's insane so I think that they're going to give each other run for their money seriously yeah it'll be fun to see man I mean you're not going to see a FR win the bin off but down the road who's going to have them they're probably both going to win them or maybe one will snub the other we'll see and then who gets drafted higher yeah here's the thing Peter I think they'll both have a really high chance to win that award the wide receiver award and I'm gonna make a prediction both of them will be in New York either their sophomore year or their junior year both of them it'll be the first it'll be first time that I think it'll be the first time that two wide receivers make it to the to the Heisman uh final so that'd be pretty phenomenal man you were here may yeah I don't remember a year past where where two wide receivers were president the same Heisman Ceremony some years you get three invites some years he get four some of you get five you know participants but uh it's going to be fun man um they're going to have phenomenal careers like it's just it's going to be fun to track them and I pray both of them stay injuryf free and have healthy careers you know both in college and in the pros they get drafted to a franchise that has a good quarterback not not like Marvin Harrison with Kyler Murray a lot of shade to Kyler Murray take that as shade Kyler Murray I do not trust you as a quarterback but uh hopefully Marvin Harrison will produce some better things I don't know if you saw this this is slight off Havoc there's a little bit of a tangent but he was wide open for the game-winning touchdown it's been all over Instagram and accounts like ESPN and whatnot he was nobody within 20 yards of him as the Clock Was expiring and um Kyler Murray just didn't see him at all he has hand up waving like this and everything and would have been the game-winning touchdown and didn't even get the ball thrown his way yeah I uh I I saw that actually um I saw that and dude has dude has to be frustrated um I mean I'm sorry but Kyler Murray he he either need they they either need to get shorter offens lineman or someway somehow he he has right uh he has to get taller which so what what's funny is he is what he at this point in his career you know people are like he scrambles so much I'm like you guys he scrambles because he can't see over his offensive lineman so he's got to roll roll out of the pocket to be able to see down the field so it is what it is at this point precisely man so we'll definitely be following the careers of of Ryan and and JJ Smith and maybe even Nick Mar the fourth side receiver if he continues develop with Aiden Charles um you he's a true freshman out Detroit as well but yeah man oh go ahead so here's here's uh Jeremiah Smith's stats yeah so Ryan Williams hasn't beat so reception yards 21 yards per uh re yards per reception 19.2 they're tied and receiving touchdowns Ryan Williams has them beat and uh receptions that's it receptions and I'm trying to one figure out like I mean it's more impressive that you know what six seven receptions you got 270 yards rather than JJ Smith but look who he has at quarterback uh I mean Jaylen impress me much either to be honest but I mean like he's he's got he's got a pretty good long ball better than he does have he does have a nice long Ball but he is very inconsistent my humble opinion but so what sold me is I mean that he put that ball in the money when he beat Auburn last season literally like 32 seconds left on the clock it was a clutch moment you can't deny that can't take that from him but be honest Peter who would you rather have throwing to JJ Smith Jaylen milro or will Howard I think they' both got some real deficiencies throwing the football and maybe Jaylen maybe but he's pretty inaccurate but did did you did you see that P that long ball pass by Will Howard where JJ Smith had to come yeah one for it terrible throw but milro is really bad in the intermediate to short and will Howard excels at those throws so you take the good with the bad with each quarterback you know like um Gabriel for example he his deep ball isn't all that great either um but I probably still take him over will Howard um I don't know I mean I I guess I'll give the slight Edge to Jaylen because he's quicker he's quicker and he's better at in at improv you know he can extend some plays a little bit better than will Howard because he's a little bit better of an athlete overall throwing though I think slight Edge to Jaylen slight Edge to jayen all right man appreciate that Honesty dude so there's some we'll get to watch obviously Ryan Williams on display this weekend as we watch the Alabama Crimson Tide travel to madtown Madison Wisconsin for a big Showdown with the Badgers man now we gave our predictions over on team rivalry earlier uh in the week on Monday go check that out guys if you haven't already Big 10 team rivalry wonderful pick them show on Monday nights uh we'll we'll start to be on that Weekly by the way uh so that that's G to be a lot of fun we've always had fun with it but man I don't know the badger defense isn't what they used to be they used to run a three4 scheme under Jim Leonard I truthfully think that Alabama is gonna straight decimate the Badgers and I love me some Luke fickle and I know you kind of do too but this is a mismatch and I'm not looking forward to to seeing what the what the Crimson TI are going to do the Badgers what's your your first kind of General take on this matchup when you think about it man you know first off uh I mean so Luke fickle I feel like he was given a you know kind of [Music] a bad situation I mean they're they're recruiting 40th what is it like 40th nationally not bringing in like bringing okay talent and it just it shows like you know maybe Luke fickle is just not meant to coach at a BigTime school I mean you you usually see his teams come to fation year three um and this is it and may maybe it'll be year four who knows but the recruiting is not there they don't have a quarterback um who who did they play their first game I know I know they barely W West Western it took a while to what what did they wi by like two touchdowns they won by two touchdowns but it was Western had the lead entering the fourth you know I I'm starting to think that you know if you look at Cincinnati and how they got to the playoffs they had just the right talent to get through their conference their strength schedule yes they beat Notre Dame but I mean yeah Brian Kelly's just known to just drop some head scratchers I mean that's just that's just Brian Kelly but I mean d due to the big Talent Gap and the uh the coaching I mean kayin doar has shown that he's ready to be at a big time program he took that uh Washington team uh who literally like came from who was down in their luck brought them back to to relevance and all all he all he needed was uh I mean they were they were good they were good the year before they just dropped a couple games but you know they came back hard than ever made it to the uh national championship and you know kayin doar is getting a shot at Big Time program so far he's doing good recruiting is still going well and you know I just I just think it's going to show uh come Saturday when the Alabama Crimson Tide uh just completely stomp Wisconsin and you know what I I I do love like love Luke fickle you know uh great coach he was a great uh defense coordinator for uh Ohio State you know he uh you know looking back at okay like he was put in a situation where they were in the middle of a scandal they lost their obviously lost their head coach lost some players but they still had a really talented wrester and I thought you know there's a good chance that they can they could win the Big 10 and then they end up what finishing six and six um and I was like oh you know maybe he just needs maybe the lights are just too bright you know there's only a a a handful not I don't think a handful of coaches who just are able to step up first time at a BigTime program and you know prove that they're ready for those big lights and I'm like you know he needs to go to a smaller School grow a bit prove his worth um he did that he did great he he he exceeded expectations at Cincinnati they they made the college football playoff he exceeded expectations but well here's the difference if I can just butt in for a second yeah um he found his quarterback in Desmond Ritter early like he was in one of his first recruiting classes he has not found his quarterback in Wisconsin he's gone to the portal each season and Tyler vanti is a scrub bro like he has one touchdown through two games one touchdown like that's not going to cut it in the Big 10 that's not going to cut it in these big matchups he needs to find his man in high school and develop him because he found his gem in Desmond Ritter who is still an NFL quarterback four years on now uh he's a backup but he's still in the NFL and um the talent level is about the same as it was at C Cincinnati and Wisconsin it's just going different because college football is so quarterback driven he needs to find his man but here here's here's the thing like if you really think about it you know they're recruiting at Cincinnati they're competing with other schools within their conference so the talent that they're getting for the conference was good enough but now they're competing with Ohio State uh Oregon Michigan uh USC Penn State uh and seems like th those programs are a good amount of time is going to win out on those big time players so yeah and the talent that they're getting it's just it's not a it's not good enough for the Big 10 it's not man the rebuild is not going well you know dor in his first year he comes in he's got a chance to you know it's not a ranked Wisconsin team they're playing but it's a you know it's still a decent uh opponent and I think man I don't know man I the talent level is so disparaging in this game like the the level is is a wide void it really is like he's improved recruiting it was in the 50s to 7s when he got there the first three classes the previous classes he's approved its top 40 classes now but that's still not the elite level it needs to be to take down a a program that's only one year removed from the greatest coach of all time and uh I I know we both are predicting a blowout looks like ran City's predicting a 10-point win he's been right more than we have to be honest at least on these live games we've talked about here uh some of the other guys on team rivalry were expecting a closer game but I kind of feel like that maybe was just hope not necessarily looking at the reality of the situation what do you think about that uh I mean like I was honestly Peter I was expecting a close game I mean there there's no denying that their defense is Elite but here's the other thing uh Steve sarkeesian uh he had a brilliant game plan so what I I notice as Texas has a lot of speed and they weren't using that speed like why would they use their speed to go between the tackles and probably get eaten up by uh Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant nine nine times out of 10 they took their speed to the outside and you know all all like they and you know what they have the offense the offensive line to be able to do that all you got to do is is hook all you got to do is Hook the edge and it's over and you know what Texas offensive line was winning a good amount of the battles CU you know I was noticing about the end the end of the first quarter I saw Mason Graham just hands on his hips bent over huffing and puffing so I mean you got you got to think was Michigan even like well prepared for this game was this game over the moment that Texas ran out of that tunnel I mean they're more than they were more than likely uh running and gunning for for Michigan you know Michigan has a Target in their backs uh I mean reigning national champions but also I mean what what has happened during during the offseason you know that that that uh that sign gate Cloud that just been over Ann Arbor and you know it's just like I guess in a way they're just like you're not you're not going to get away with this we are going we are going to expose you and they they did just that I'm pretty sure a uh a freshman wide receiver by the name of Ryan Wingo uh made uh will Johnson look silly if if I if I'm not mistaken that dude is quick by the way I mean they they they did a they did a Jet Sweep with him and he took it all the way you know the last time we saw Jet Sweep and they took it all the way it was 2018 uh Ohio State versus Michigan I think it was Paris Campbell yeah Paris Campbell 80 yards of the house sweep 80 yards of the house man that's pretty much the the same thing that happened almost 80 yards to the house so I think at the end of the day with Michigan they they got beat they got out schemed they got beat speed and clearly uh Texas was the more uh was the was the more experienced team which I said pretty much leading up to the game experience is gonna win this game speed is going to win this game scheme is gonna win this game Steve sarkeesian uh he is a uh season head coach now he's he's proven his worth he's brought Texas back in a he's turning the corner man I give him his props because uh he he he battled the alcoholism and uh he really turned it around cuz previously he was not a good head coach and I honestly did not believe in the hire that Texas made um but he's clearly proven me wrong he's had a good two seasons there or three seasons there now I think or two and a half I should say um and I give you your flowers too you called this I remember in the preview um last Thursday you were saying that um Michigan's uh lack of offense is going to keep their defense on the field that's exactly what happened throughout the game I mean they were I didn't expect it to happen in the first half but my goodness man like they like you said hands on the hips in the first half even there were interest in the first quarter where they were looking unconditioned oh yeah that's what I'm saying by by the by the end of the first quarter that defense was exhausted gas and their the the rest is history their their fate their fate was ridden when I saw Mason when I saw Mason Manchild Graham like bending over huffing puffing I'm like this is It's done this the the street fight is done like did you go to buff all off seon what did you do with your off seon man just like read your press clipping and snack and like let let's be honest it could it could have been 10 times worse I mean oh heck yeah I mean they Michigan got a really favorable holding call at the beginning of that game really that pissed me off T about that it wasn't even that bad it wasn't egregious definitely not yeah it wasn't like very noticeable but you know but I guess I guess what you know my brother Jack always put it oh yeah ca he always put it like home cooking like cause yeah so I mean there was a little bit in that but you know Texas overcame all of that man and here's one thing before we move on on to the to another game this weekend I just want to pose this question to you we know Michigan or it appears Michigan is not going to be very good this season but let's look at the other side Texas how good are they be because we know Michigan's not great at least in our opinion is Texas all of a sudden this National Title Contender like people are saying or do we need to take a step back and say they're a very good team but maybe they're not National Title contenders I that's just my question to you all right so first off Quinn he was really showed up against Michigan in a really big way he completely torched them I mean he to Ohio State fans he's he's a legend I just hope we really don't I hope we don't claim him but if they're able to bully around a defensive line like Michigan I mean Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant I mean they they're they're projected both to be top 10 picks I mean Mason Graham may go number one overall I mean that's what the mock drafts are looking like and you know what they The Edge position you know Josiah Stewart who's who's at the other end there's Derek Moore yeah they're they're no slouch either uh they're second like their uh secondary not that bad that's true that's a great point it's not even they play Georgia we will see well that's what I'm saying yeah I mean I I gu yes but again like Michigan's defense is Elite it's just that they ran to a brick wall called the Texas offense line it's gon to be a fun match up man I wish we didn't have to wait uh too long it's it's it's not it's like a mid-season game Texas versus Georgia if I'm not mistaken you can correct me on that R City I might be wrong but uh that's going to tell a lot man it's gonna be it's it's gonna be a big game of separating uh some of the elite teams of college football and will have an effect on obviously the SEC standings and the playoffs playoff seating of course now you think that's gonna be a rematch right I think I think they so I think Texas has a really good chance to win it all interesting okay I'm not that high on them yet I I I agree I I I don't is the best college he's the best quarterback in all of college football right now he is they got they got a lot of speed their defense is good their offensive line I don't know about their defense yet because Michigan's offense is garbage you're right their offense was was garbage but but no I mean still impressive still impressive a very impressive pass the first test with flying colors I mean I even heard on the radio on my short commed today that you know some people think Texas and Georgia are the top two teams and maybe Ohio State's lying down to third you know it's because we haven't played anybody nobody know really knows what we are yet this year not even Ohio State fans CU we have not been tested in any facet but uh some people are making that that over reaction and that's what college football fans do we overreact to games and results and so I just want to get your take that is an interesting take Rob and I think there's some there's some Credence behind it they might they might be the best team they might here's the other thing about Texas and this is what some people are forgetting they made the college football playoff last season yes they lose some talent but they they were they returned they were number three in terms of the most production returned and all freaking went to the portal what because they freaking went to the portal and stocked their cupboards I mean they like like like an elite program should do well no I'm just I not not that I'm saying like the most starters return well yeah but they they did have 11 players drafted though last year so so I mean but that but that that's still impressive man that they uh they have the they're they're number three in terms of production returning so I yeah I think yeah I don't know if this is true or not but I think a lot of that sack comes from the portal and what Isaiah Bond did at Alabama and these other programs did because I mean they did lose 11 starters last year but either way that's how Elite programs reload and Texas is going back to the playoffs there's no question about that Clemson is continuing to fall because they refuse to use the portal and um Miami upgraded massively at quarterback with Cam Ward because of the portal he's a Phenom I would have not if I'm total honesty I would have preferred cam ward in in Columbus over will Howard too but I do like will Howard's leadership I'll give you that he clearly has command of the offense he might not be the best gifted he might not be the most athletic and talented quarterback out there you know but he clearly has the respect of his teammates and that's a really cool thing to see um yeah definitely the other game I want to touch on before we get into some other topics another um top 25 Showdown Arizona versus Kansas State obviously will Howard left Kansas State Avery Johnson took his taken over he's been somewhat pedestrian in his no I haven't watched the games so maybe he's been really effective but he only has about 334 yards passing uh three touchdowns this is a great quarterback match up though because Johnson's bought out last year in the bowl game and Noah faid is a quarterback that's not on many people's radar but he's got he's one of three players in the NCAA that has a private jet he's that good uh nil deal he's got 600 yards he's an insane dual threat quarterback that game takes place tomorrow night man number 28 Arizona versus Kansas State I'm sorry I didn't look this I don't know where the game is at I should have looked that up but um my goodness Arizona vers Kansas State Whoever thought that would be a match up worth watching on Friday night but I I might tune in I got some plans but I'll catch some of it for sure so what uh t uh McMillan the insane wide receiver he's the one that had 300 yards the first game of the season he's fa's favorite Target and there they're onew punch maybe unlike any in college football but uh just give me a little G take on this uh this Arizona K State match up what do you how you feeling about this one man I I I think that uh you know I I I've seen Avery Johnson play he took over for will Howard he balled out he earned the starting spot um I think I think he could he could be the Difference Maker but I also saw uh I also saw Arizona in their their bowl game last season and you know they did have a first uh good game so man it it's it's it's a tough one it could go either way but I uh I really like Arizona I I think that I think that they could win I really do yeah man it's it's weird that that's a conference match up now obvious say Arizona forever was in the Pack 12 now defun conference and now it's a big 12 Showdown I kind of lean Arizona as well and and uh just full disclosure I'm not open up on these teams I mean I don't know everything outside of those players I mentioned Johnson faid and McMillan those the only three that can name on their entire rosters but uh this this should be a fun quarterback battle to watch it should be an entertaining game in Big 12 because we all know there ain't no much defense playing in the Big 12 so um Arizona kind of has has uh EX with those dual threat quarterbacks over the years and uh it should be a fun one to watch man I probably won't watch it all like I said but I'll tune into to a little bit but uh but yeah let's uh let's talk about this briefly the r City comment here after organ downfall I'm not sure Ohio State play as a Natty Contender All Season well Michigan's certainly not in the pitcher I mean I I still have Penn State making the playoffs even though they royally struggled versus Bowling Green last week uh I think they easily get in with their schedule probably a 10- two um they have an outside shot at the Big 10 championship game of course now with Oregon looking as weak as they do they might take some LS um but just give me your overall General consensus on how Oregon's played the first two weeks bro um their first game was really surprising uh it was just they're they who are they playing Idaho State Idaho bandal yeah oh yeah the the uh so they're playing Idaho I mean they they were up they were up by like seven at one point and you know I just I I was expecting Oregon to win like put they at least put up 50 points and and hold uh Idaho to like zero to se to seven but that that just wasn't the case it just it took them too late to uh pull away and then they had a comeback win against Boise State they almost I was for sure thinking they were going to lose to Boise State but but everybody on our big 10 team rivalry everybody preted that to be a blow up but seriously how do you have a close game with the Ido potato wies I don't know but but you know let's not say let's not go on and say that you know Oregon's downfall just yet um okay they're they're they're finding ways to win yes they have a lot of talent but they're still winning and as long as you're winning in my book you're still you're doing a good job you're the coach the coaches are paid to win games and win national championships they're not paid to blow out all these teams they're paid to get wins that's an yeah I mean that that's a good Counterpoint to what they're doing I should they have been should they be blowing out uh idah yes should they have handly beat Boise State more than likely but wins are wins so uh one YouTube video I was watching yesterday man it was kind of interesting and it did catch my attention the point he made was like I obviously willing to give a a team pass when they have a down game but when it's two games or even three games it becomes a pattern and it kind of becomes who you are and so I'm not in that camp fully myself yet I'm I'm not writing Oregon off but clearly this is not the same team though I will say that this is not the same team as last year they're not as physical as they were last year and they're Boise States o line dominated their D line let's be completely honest like completely Maul them and uh if Ohio State doesn't do the same on the offensive line in the Run game I'll be extremely disappointed in Ohio State it's just like Boise State gets less talent and you know if they were if they were able to uh to uh handle yeah get over the so get over uh Oregon's defensive line then why can't Ohio State if they don't dude then the heat is really on with Justin fry because they'll be like man Oregon real I mean uh Boise State really dominated their defensive line but we can't I feel I feel like Justin FR C can't get any hotter like maybe there's extra levels of hatred for the man the Ohio State offensive coach but I'm at boiling point I mean I it's simmering for me like yeah I guess any sign of weakness in the game is going to just set me off on the offensive line that is um but yeah they better dominate the teams they play and that's starts with the first test in the Iowa hawkey when we Face them known for the defense although they took a l this last week to Iowa State as well so typical Iowa fashion [Laughter] dude that that's just that's rough you know you have you know they were in the Big 10 championship game last season they had the most returning production in all of college football and you drop an early game against Iowa State you know they they could be they could be so much better they could be so much better you like I said on the the team rivy show if they're offense was a like you don't need a number one offense they have a really they always have a really good defense if they had like a top 20 offense they'd be real contenders let's let's be honest here yep it'll be interesting man when the Kirk fence era ends in in Iowa City what kind of program Iowa becomes because outside of Hayden fry and Kirk fence they've been a pretty mediocre program and maybe they even get worse like I mean last year with that offense that the whole nation was clowning they still managed to win 10 games with that pitiful offense because they play football the Iowa way and maybe that changes when a new coach comes in and Kirk fans dies on the sidelines or whatever happens to him um it it's gonna be fascinating to see if he can if the next head coach can keep that going or if they just completely go back to mediocrity and irrelevance you know because at least people were talking about Iowa last year at least they made the Big 10 championship game it's not the right things to be talked about but at least people were talking about him yeah definitely so um back back to uh back to Oregon yeah back I would I would pump the breaks on their downfall again you know the coach is being paid for win to get wins and so far they've won two games that's fine if they continue if they continue to win I don't care if it's by three I don't care if it's by Hail Mary I don't care if it's by last second field goal like I I don't care if you know the quarterback closes eyes turns around and just throws the ball up and the wide receiver gets at the last second like you're paid you're paid to win win at any win at any cost I don't care how you get the win just win that's what they're that's what that's what they're paid to do your com simple comments remind me of uh just the O2 National Title season for Ohio State and Jim Trestle like we were not accustomed to Trestle ball at that point and we won games in very different ways um and they were all nail-biting and they were all intense and they made us sick to our stomach but we won the games we won every one of them but the thing is I want to just make a Counterpoint to the argument just for the sake of argument is if if if this is Ohio State struggling like this versus these two opponents we'd be iate and furious with with with Ryan day yeah you're you're right you're right it's because we're such a spoiled fan base that's that's that's that's one of the reasons but at the same time I'm like you know what you can clown on us all you want but at least we're winning what we got the last column big zero for sure so now it'll be fun man we'll see how Oregon season plays out I I must admit um I I'm not I'm not I still have them most likely making the big tennis championship game you know pen state has argument for that but uh until I see otherwise I'm going to stick with Oregon and uh being the representative in that championship game and we'll see but obviously like that like Rand City said versus Texas vs Georgia we're going to learn more a lot more about Oregon and Ohio State in that game we're going to learn a lot more about Texas and Georgia in that game we'll see if they're ready for the big boy in the big stage in their first huge big 10 opponent coming to town yeah but you know if Boise State offensive line was able to push around their defensive line yeah I I I if if uh or doesn't get together it's it's gonna be it's gonna be rough in the in the Big 10 against some opponents I'm not I'm not gonna say like if they're playing Ruckers or Northwestern or yeah you know Purdue but you know when they go up against you know Michigan Ohio State or you know they're playing Penn State then they that those could be rough outings for them so yeah I got you I got you they do travel to uh Purdue at night I think uh in October and so keep your eye on that one I know you said not Purdue but I would keep your eye on that one it's for the makers for a reason but uh yeah until for until they actually drop a game uh I'm going to continue to probably hold them in high regard not as high of regard but still high regard um so yeah moving on uh to an Ohio State censor topic a little bit shifting away from from the games for just a second Ohio stadium is about to go under uh some changes for the 2026 season and a new private club here's a look at what the renderings are uh called the 1922 Club that's obviously when the Horseshoe was was opened and dedicated was in 1922 this this new uh exclusive private club cost $4500 to get into and an exclusive private club and dining venue coming to Ohio stadium in 2026 um there's some other renderings just here are some of the features quick and then I'll kind of let you comment on what maybe the new the new Fan Experience is but this is all inclusive fear food beer and wine cash bar for Spirits you can get in three hours prior to kickoff and stay for an hour after the game obviously private restroom that's a huge plus you don't have to go in with the common folk and uh and a dedicated Premier interest also Premier entrance also away from the common folk and uh there's G to be lots of events and things like that I'm just going to scroll down a little bit further to to get to some other of the other endings there's that opening picture there's another view and here's another view um what do you think about what this means Stadium I mean is that thing is is that done or is that just no it's gonna be in 2026 okay no it's going to be done the ob in 2026 and how much is it for the year for for the season $4500 all right you guys well you know what if you have $4500 laying around somewhere um and depending on the the state of our economy in the in the next two years you just you gotta make you got to make your mind up you know uh you got to make your mind up on what on what you would want to do you know but if our when YouTube channel takes off maybe we'll get a spot at the yeah yeah if our if our economy gets gets if our economy gets better uh then you know I I I'd be more I'd be more to uh to take this Venture but I don't know man at at the end of the day like man 40 what you said [Music] $4,500 $4,500 mainly it's probably it's probably gonna be rented up by corporations for for big you know hosting corporat corporate events for during the games and you know fine whining for deals for business deals and things of that nature I mean this is like the question is does that cover the price of tickets season home game tickets um is that is that included in the package if you're paying for this thing I want to know that I want to know that um that tickets are incl Ed because that that that's a big deal CU if not you're looking at another $1,200 for a season ticket package well you watch the game from there as far as I understand um and so you know like you you're in the stadium you're in the Horseshoe but as far as I understand it doesn't include like seats in the stands like this is an exclusive private secluded type deal you know like you're not going to be sitting with the fans in this deal oh yeah I I I I get that I get that but don't don't you still need a ticket to gain admission into the stadium though or do you just need to show them that you're you're a member of this yeah you just need to show them your member yeah Okay then if if you're if you're looking to again you have $4,500 laying around sure why not but I don't know if you're balling like that go for it yeah that's up to you but here's my thing man like this is a very NFL thing this is a very um English Premier League type thing it's a very professional uh thing like all the all the new NFL stadiums have gone up in the last five years have this kind of venue in them and in the NBA arenas as well and so it's becoming a part of professional sports but obviously with how much money is seeping into to college Athletics and how ludicrous the coaching contracts have become and let's let's let's not ignore the other Elephant Room if you want the best players in the Nation recruits and portal transfer portal this is the kind of thing that's going to pay for those Elite recruits and here here's the other thing they they I'm glad you brought up recruiting here's the other thing that they could include for families they get what like half off for this or you know maybe for free yeah I'm not exactly sure of all the details obviously it just got announced yesterday there's a lot more details to come and clearly in two more years when this becomes a thing a lot more be released but uh it's not something I don't think I'll ever see in my lifetime I mean d that would be huge if they're like okay like if you committed this school your parents will get this for free if they want it they won't have they won't have to sit in the stands with everyone else they'll be able to come here and watch the game yep all inclusive man it's a wild thing and it's it's interesting because this this Bas of the discussion there were a ton of comments on 11 Warriors where obviously I got this article from and found out about this yesterday but attendance is is is down not necessarily at Ohio State uh we haven't seen the effects yet but at most college football programs they're seeing attendance hits because of the comfortability of watching at home the big screen TV like you got you got yourself at your place you know the bathroom was right there now I'm not at that age yet where I prefer watching home over going I always prefer going me personally but my dad he really has no interest in attending the game ever again uh he's completely content watching at home because every game is on now and uh you know he likes going down and getting mixed up for for big you know big new K kickoff game day but let's be honest man the Horseshoe really only gets up for the big games anymore it's not a super loud venue uh we have become a super spoiled fan base let's be completely honest about it this kind of thing kind of plays into that is that um you know like who's going to be attending these these games now as attendance continues to weigh in certain programs and is the Horseshoe going to be Rowdy I mean or is it going to become a corporate event like this this you know like the NFL and NBA games have become a corporate crowd no atmosphere um outside the playoffs of course um you know what's it going to be like in Ohio Stadium from now on for the average fan because it is getting really expensive to go let's be totally honest man it's getting super expensive to attend and uh you know they're getting close to pricing me out I'll be completely honest but uh I'm not there just yet but they're very close so yeah yeah shoot it kind of sucks but yeah the the environment just not the same as it was in the early 2000s when Ohio state was still struggling um you know the Horseshoe was a rocking place but over the last 20 years or so we gotten so spoiled With Victory after Victory we expect Victory I mean our buddy Dave Johnson went to the game last year the Ohio State Michigan State game and it was a night game but there was no I mean we everybody knew we were going to crush Michigan State it was not loud at all that the same day you went to Michigan Penn State and I mean he was kind of clowning us on the ro ro was like the Horseshoe is a quiet venue man you fans kind of suck I was like well what did you expect man it was what what big moment happened in the Ohio State Michigan State game there wasn't one we dominated from the opening kickoff to the end you know like there was nothing to get crazy about it that game dude the uh glad you brought the the Michigan Pence State Game Dude Happy Valley is so loud I thought experence thought that my my eard drums were going to burst like big time it's really loud well but yeah go ahead speaking speaking of the Michigan State Ohio State game tickets right now are $75 a piece I I Peter I I may I may kind of play going dude I what man I may contemplate going I mean yeah it would be good for coverage man to go down there it'd be fun to do a vlog for sure Spartan Stadium really kind of sucks in my opinion but uh uh it would be fun to see the team live especially as good as they are so yeah get back to me on that I haven't made up my mind yet but um we'll definitely consider it I having just gone last year I'm not as inclined to go see these two same teams but uh yeah talk about more for sure even if we dude even if we just go down there like with the tailgates and stuffff experience the atmosphere uh get some video in uh and then they got some good pizza down there so yeah go to some bar some restaurant or something yeah yeah yeah definitely yeah that could be a good time for sure I'd probably be down for that no doubt no doubt so yeah this thing is coming it's not something I will ever enter in my lifetime unless I win the freaking Lottery but I don't play the lot so that's never going to happen so um there's a couple more things we want to cover just about wrapped up though um we we want to talk about the difference in running back room situations from Tony Alfred transitioning to Oregon's former running back coach Carlos llan taken over in Columbus man what do you think the difference has been with Carlos since he's gotten here he's only been here a short time do you think things have improved stayed the same or too early to tell or what I'd say things have improved I mean they already have what seven like seven rushing touchdowns yeah like yeah I mean the running the Run game looks really explosive it does it look the the running backs look more explosive they're getting more yards uh per carry uh obviously more tou like more touchdowns I mean man go look back at 2022 the uh rushing touchdowns was just horrendous I just I remember that Northwestern game where it was raining we couldn't th couldn't run the ball at all on Northwestern couldn't throw the ball so we tried to run and they they just they couldn't so nope against lowly Northwestern yeah I I just you know what Tony Alfred was good for his his time and I mean same as K Colmes was good for his time uh I mean I think I think um what's his name marotti the strength coach yeah yeah I I think I think he he's good for his time uh he could be on on his way out um but he's getting older yeah he's getting older but you know it's just some people just just fade out they just don't have it they just don't have it anymore um so I I think that I think there there's there's no there's obviously no love loss uh yeah you know there there's no like like oh my gosh uh Tony Alfred left it's it's not that he left it's who he left to go coach at he he want to go coach at Michigan but we all know how the Run game is going we all know that uh that Donovan Edwards is not who people put him out to be uh we all know C Ms is running back one and we we all know that Tony Alfred is not the the same Run game coordinator he uh he used to be well who would have thought this let let me throw this s out there man and I meant to bring this up on team rivalry on the show but I didn't confirm it I didn't see it confirmed anywhere else I didn't want to just put out a false stat but I've seen it confirmed since through two games so far guess how many rushian touchdowns the Walgreens have what like zero yeah none they don't have a single one do they even have I I think they have what two passing touchdowns the short flip for origy and the short pass for Warren yeah yep that that's just man it's bad man the offense is bad but like focusing on the rushing part like bro who would had that on the bingo card they had 10 and something I think 140 rushing touchdowns over the last three years they have zero through two games so far bro yeah I mean like I mean like that that's just that is such like a big like step back from what their identity was I I honestly I mean they they you go back to that uh their their first game against President State they had five wide yeah I mean they're sh MO is like yeah we're going to keep the same uh ground a pound game we're not going to change our identity but then the first game the first game we see we see five wide we see more of a a pro type offense so I I I just I think that this is one of those I'm gonna say what I need to say in order to get the role and then I'm gonna do what I want to do type of thing you know it's kind it's kind of like you know the whole fake it to make it you know you're you're you're you're in a job interview you really want the job but you don't like you know exactly what these people want it may not be what your vision but you know what they want so you're gonna say what they want so you can get the job so well well like you said man we've seen a drastic difference in the Michigan rushing attack and we've seen a drastic difference in the Ohio State rushing attack and that's been fun to see obviously Oregon Oregon's Concepts and Chip Kelly's Concepts made a big difference um Carlos llin has made a big difference and I think it's also that's probably a big reason why Oregon is suffering in the Run game because they're not getting any push versus the defensive lines in the Red Zone the drives are stalling out in the red zone and maybe Carlos lochman is a is a factor in that and I'm impressed so far and correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he um he did he did land a running back recruit I can't think of the the recruit's name right now but blackin did land in somebody since he's been here on stff correct yeah it uh Bo Jackson Bo Jackson that was the man yes yeah there there was there was someone else too there was someone else oh you're right there were there have been two running back commits for sure yeah yeah so the other one but I know Georgia was really after Bo jackon we got him so yeah yeah know man it's fun that was a big recruit recruting win for Ohio State for sure so I think the future is bright man it will tell a lot in who he can continue to bring in what kind of caliber of recruits and what kind of tailbacks we get high state has always been known for having Elite tailbacks and now we're starting to become known for better quarterbacks and that'll be fun to follow too what kind of recruits we get in the QB room as well but I'm excited and en uh you know in th that lochman is our coach he did all right for his time here but it's time for a fresh take man like you said so oh yeah definitely I mean I I I love the the higher llin I mean if you see what he did with uh Bucky Irving when he was at Oregon I mean dude had over a thousand yards uh I'm pretty wait didn't they didn't they have two explosive backs in that offense when he was at Oregon or or was it just Bucky Irving I don't remember two but but I know I know for sure I know for sure Bucky Irving uh had over a thousand rushing yards he had he had about 10 11 touchdowns yeah he was kind of the Bell Cy so and that that was that was in a pass dominant offense too that's even more impressive yeah B Knicks lit up the staty 45 touchdowns only three picks last year for them and Bucky Bucky still eight so that was fun to watch but yeah yeah man uh last question uh unless you got something else to add it's the off season for or the the offseason it's the off week and the bye for Ohio State we got two of these this year um what kind of fan are you in the buy weeks do you still watch a ton of college football do you try and get out and enjoy the fall day if it's a nice fall day like what's the typical by week look like for you Rob I'm still watching college football man I mean dude my dude it it doesn't my College college football goes past Ohio State that's what I'm saying I mean like week Z if it's like you know Alabama State vers you know the uh verse you know Western Kentucky I'm watching that game because it's college football and I'm hungry for some college football so dang straight bro I love it I love it I I'm the same way I try and fill my fall mornings with maybe like going to Cider Mill or something like that just getting out enjoying a little bit of the fall weather but yeah man once the college football is on at noon I'll probably miss the you know the uh the the pregame shows like college game the big new kickoff but uh once the game start man I'm I'm locked and loaded in so I can't wait to watch Alabama versus Wisconsin at High Noon on Fox that's gonna be epic and then excuse me Oregon Oregon State 3:30 is probably what I'll be watching uh the Civil War rivalry man that's fun that they're keeping it going shame on Oklahoma and Oklahoma State for Banning the inate Rivalry by the way but yeah I'm I'm excited to see see how Oregon looks in week three if they continue to struggle bro I'm probably jumping off the bandwagon of of of of elite of Oregon being Elite if they struggle for a third consecutive week but yeah yeah definitely um but one last thing to talk about the possible Pack 12 I guess I guess you could call it a rebirth of the Pack 12 I mean the Pack 12 is dead and the only two teams who are trying to revive it who is it Oregon State and uh who's the other team Washington State yeah Oregon State and Washington state they're trying to reach out to uh M Mount West teams to try to form another pack 12 which I don't know I think it's going to be I mean I think it's going to be a bit unsuccessful I mean I I think the Pack 12 is dead I think really the team I mean one once those you know once Oregon left uh Washington left uh you know USC UCLA th those those were those were the big four of the Pack 12 and when when when when your big teams leave I mean th those were the real money makers yeah it's all about it's all about the money so if these teams are not going to pull enough viewership enough Revenue and just even make it enjoyable to watch is it's just it's not gonna happen they're gonna end up being the uh the little guy they're gonna end being the little guy and they you know what just because they're in the Pack 12 and they have a championship doesn't mean they're going to be highly considered for the college football playoff they I don't think they'll be considered one of the power conferences yeah I think I think the power five is no more even even if even if there is this big Rebirth of the Pack 12 it's still going to be power four it's going to be the Big 10 it's going to be the SEC it's going to be the ACC and it's going to be the big 12 that's it yeah no question no it like you said man Fresno State and Boise State they are good group of five teams they are not power conference opponents they do not dry eyeballs they have been uh you know very good over the course of time the the one that doesn't make sense in this this four Team edition is Colorado State like I get the other three um and their semia appeal you know for joining the Pack 12 but like Colorado State bro like what they're not ever competitive and so I'm not sure why they want them maybe just they want the Denver market and even though it's not in Denver so um that's the only thing I can think but uh yeah it is kind of interesting like there's no question like they're not going to draw eyeballs so they're not going to get huge TV deals and I don't understand I respect on one hand that they're still fighting and they're still trying to survive like but it's not going to be successful in bringing money like you're going to be a a minnow conference it's just the way it is you know there's nobody left to add I've heard I've heard Callen Stanford are potentially considering you know coming back you know who knows who what what will come with to fruition with that I mean everybody kind of thinks the ACC is going to implo and I do too within the next three to four years um the Big 12 might hold out a little bit longer but yeah I can't imagine K and sanfords programs continuing to want to fly cross country to play their games I mean they Pacific team and they play in the Atlantic Coast Conference like that's just so stupid yeah yeah I mean it it is you know what if they if they want to uh if they want have rebirth at Pack 12 and you know call a bunch uh you know lower teams from the mountain try then what's going to happen is the is the Mountain West gonna die next I mean naturally just like the Big East did the Big East used to be great uh you know semi kind of mixture they had West Virginia they had Cincinnati they had pit and then and they became no more in the Mountain West everybody kind of recognize the Mountain West as the best of the of the group of five conferences and that's going to go by the wayside too so it sucks but it's it's just reality man conference is going to continue to expand but there's not too many big fish to snatch up now maybe when the ACC collapses you know the the the SEC and the Big 10 are are going to be fighting over over a couple programs of course Colson Florida State and and and programs of that nature but it' be interesting to see where where the dominoes fall but yeah man good luck to the Pack 12 it's a bigger brand than Mountain West I see why they're going from Mountain West to the Pack 12 instead of the Pack 12 the mount West but like it is a bigger brand but and ultimately it's value is completely decreased and it'll never recover so man I'm what so where did Arizona end up joining I forgot 12 yeah yeah they're wow they're all they're all and Ariza state the Big 12 wow wow they went to a couple different conferences yeah I mean Colorado used to be in the Big 12 then they joined the Pack 12 now they're back in the Big 12 that's the dumbest of all do K Colorado man yeah you know what man if you at least at least they have the Rolexes that's all I'm going to say yeah well they're going to take some the fat Els now shador and Travis Hunter going to be very rich men in about 10 months but God that program that program itself is going nowhere and nowhere fast and uh all hype no substance so it's fun to watch man it's fun to watch the fall of the continuing failures out in Boulder Colorado beautiful Stadium wonderful campus got one national title and program history that's a great 30 for30 by the way to yeah the GU that was a great 30 for 30 dude one of my favorites to be honest so I remember they uh they were so they could have lost the game the guy uh rocket from Notre Dame rocket is he took he took it back to the house but a holding penalty was called and that was that so yeah that was crazy game man like yeah Colorado probably will'll never see those Heights again but it's always fun to see programs rise up but Colorado's not going to be one of them at least not under Prime anyway but uh but yeah man that's going to do it for tonight appreciate you all joining in uh thank you so much for joining the stream uh we'll be back enjoy the college football weekend that is to come couple of big matchups hopefully we get six upsets or more like we did last weekend we what we all kind of expected might not be a great weekend tur into a fabulously entertaining weekend and we're hoping the same for this weekend with only two ranked matchups hope for a little bit bit of chaos so we'll see what happens we'll be here to talk about it we'll see you guys on the next one take care have a good night later
