we are less than two weeks away from NFL kickoff and I got my top 10 defenses that you should be targeting in drafts and get ready for the 2024 fantasy football season now coming in at number 10 this might sound biased but my Rams I got ranked as a top 10 DST option going into this season just based on the offseason additions the two defensive linemen that they got Brandon Fisk and Jared first will make a difference in the pass rush when you're adding to that already headache for a lot of these offensive lines were Kobe Turner the conductor and Byron young I think with these additions these will be huge factors in why this defense will be successful coming in at number nine you got the Kansas City Chiefs defense now they would be ranked a lot higher but they just lost a major factor to that defense or where these defensive points really live and that's legaria sne when it comes to takeaways they were not at the high top of the list when it comes to takeaways last season so losing somebody where you only had a chance of getting these T takeaways I don't see this defense being a hard-nosed defense in takeaways but as long as Chris Jones is there where these fantasy points are going to come from are from the sacks a lot of sacks are going to be coming from this defense and you have Chris Jones there who's a vital Factor so the Chiefs remain in the mix as a top 10 DST option and listen they don't give up a ton of points they allowed the second fewest points per game last season so there is some type of balance now coming in at number eight you got the Indianapolis Colts this defense I feel like I'm a little too low on I could put higher but man this is a really good defense that you want to have on your radar when you go into week one now they had four players who had eight plus sacks so this is already a productive pass rush defense even with the stresses of the offense last season not being productive and not being able to get a real rest but looking at this defense already having four players who are returning back to these same positions this Following season and then you add a pass rusher rookie from UCLA latu I really feel as though this is going to be a defense that's going to be rising up a lot lot of people rankings very early on in the season and you do not want to miss out on them coming in at number seven surprisingly this was a defense that I was on in off of last week of putting into my lineups they were a waiver wire gem in my opinion that's the Atlanta Falcons defense whove just gotten better they added Justin Simmons to that safety spot and they also got Matt judon adding to that pass rush and this defense already last season without braheem Morris who is the head coach now they were already a defense that liked to get takeaways when you have Jesse baits back there who seventh in interception since 2020 and I just told you they added Justin Simmons as well to that back and he has led the Nell and interception since 2020 so looking at this defense this is the defense you want to have on your radar very late in drafts they're going to be sneaky picks they might end up being on your waiver wire after draft day but the Falcons are a top 10 defense in 2024 coming at number six this has always been a hard defense the Saints the New Orleans Saints are a defense that gives you some fine balance they don't give up a ton of points they also get some takeaways and they have a strong defensive front to get to the quarterback to get those sacks now we're looking at the Saints last season this is what they red off last season fifth Fest TDS allowed the fourth most takeaways and even with a mid- tier offense they still manage to keep teams from scoring allowing the four fewest Red Zone drives so they're not even giving teams a chance to score on them they'll probably walk away with like three points from a field goal but this is a great defense to have when you want to maintain those 10 points when you want to get the bottom of the floor at the absolute best so where these guys can just build on top of those points the Saints are going to be a problem this season now coming at at number five the Dallas Cowboys I actually had them hire in the listings here but man that blow to Don Bland being out six to8 weeks is one of the core reasons why the Cowboys defense were so high in DST and fantasy points now you got this guy who was responsible for five of your six defensive touchdowns last season but luckily they still have a decent pass rush they get Trayvon dicks back I still believe in this Dallas Cowboys defense in 2024 coming in at number four you got the Pittsburgh Steelers as long as they got TJ watt this defense is going to be okay the sacks are always going to be there on the table for them they likely have a better offense than they had last year to keep the defense kind of fresh they also added a tackle and machine and Patrick Queen so this is going to be a defense it's going to be hard to score on and the sacks are going to be coming on the way coming in at number three you got the Cleveland Browns this is the perfect balance of a defense where you can maintain those points where you're not going to be getting blows in the negatives because you have this Jim Schwarz defense that's one hell of a defense I must say that gives you the upside in sacks gives you the upside in takeaways and they're are defense that's going to be cutting these offenses in half on third down they were literally the best defense last season it's kind of weird putting them at three but I like the two options at one and two coming at two you got the Baltimore Ravens this is one of the best defenses in the last five seasons and when I say that they have not been outside the top three other than one other time which was 2021 in the last five seasons as a top three defense DST people we already know that the Ravens are a number one if not a top two option in DST because they give you upside in the sacks they're cutting you out of the Red Zone and this is a defense that is going to be able to get some takeaways this season coming at number one I respect hard work from the New York Jets defense cuz they've been under extreme conditions in the last two seasons due to their quarterback play and this defense has remained solid Stout top of the leaderboards when it comes to takeaways when it comes to Red Zone drives allowing to opponents this is a defense that you cannot easily score on and a player like s Gardner would make this defense so hard and difficult for the opponent to go down the field and drive on them and actually getting Striking dck Distance for this team they also added Hassan reick if he ends up playing under the contract they added a productive pass rusher when they lost some guys like Bryce huff and you have a guy like Hassan reick that's has been able to get after their quarterback season after season with double digit sacks this is a
