I'm not getting paid let's have a party I worked at a dive bar opening early and serving regulars like bikers and construction workers I never met the owners my paycheck was always handed over by the other bartender one day I got a call asking for the owner the caller mentioned oneway tickets to another country which a regular explained meant the owners were likely fleeing something I hadn't been paid in 2 weeks so I decided to make my last day a party I gave away drinks demanded my paycheck from the other bartender got paid in cash and left the bar shut down that same day but I got my money as I walked out I could hear the laughter and cheers from the regulars it felt like the perfect way to end things that bar may have closed but at least I left with a story and in a way I threw the best farewell party that place had ever seen who knew a little Rebellion could be so satisfying
