time 10: a.m. Pacific time again against the Houston Texans uh the two sides practiced this week in a joint practice session uh should have been should have been some some really good a really good test for the Rams it was a really good test for the Rams as they kind of get ready for week one on Sunday night football against the Detroit Lions but let's get right into it we have a lot to talk about but before we get started as always like I said if you're watching over on YouTube hit that like button hit that subscribe it's the best way to Help Me Grow the channel as we head into the rang season we love to get get the um get the uh get get get the viewers up a little bit a little bit before we head into what what should be a really exciting really fun Ram season and then if you're watching over on playback uh be sure to request to join the stage as always I want to get you guys involved in the show as much as possible request join the stage let's talk let's have a discussion and have a good time so uh let's get right into it the first thing that we want to talk about the big big news coming out here on Friday is aaric Jackson Rams left tackle starting left tackle suspended the first two games of the ram season so that's week one against the Detroit Lions and week two against the Arizona Cardinals Jackson was suspended for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy which obviously this is a big blow a big blow for the Rams uh Jackson was brought back the season the Rams the Rams tendered him as a restrictive free agent he he comes back on what is a bargain y fourway left tackle comes in at around $4 million a year the Rams which is obviously a bargain for starting left tackles in the NFL um and Jackson he had a pretty good season last year showed that he can be a steady a steady presence there on the left side uh we're going bring him in this year sort of like a um tender him as sort of like a pro it type Pro it year type deal where you know if he plays well maybe he earns that longterm extension like Joe no like Joe Noom did back in 2021 2022 um so obviously this is a big blow for the Rams big blow for big blow for lar Jackson as he as he heads into a big season but I think the um that obviously as disappointing as it is it is a huge opportunity for Joe noin this is somebody that ran drafted in the third round back in 2018 to sort of be that air apparent to Andrew Whitworth that obviously never happened um Joe as good of a playoff run that he had back in 2021 gets injured right away in 2022 um the Rams go through all all their injury stuff during the 2022 season allic Jackson comes in plays well both at Right Guard and left tackle they head in 2023 allic Jackson allic Jackson wins at left tackle competition last off season and um kind of holds down that spot for the rest of the year but this is a big big opportunity I think for for Noom I think we saw last year um very kind of not necessarily similar situation but at Right Guard you know you see you see Joe Noom as the starter there to begin the year begin the season uh heading into week five Noom is unable to go Rams trade for Kevin Dawson before the season starts doson comes in against the Colts plays really well and never really lets go of that starting Right Guard right guard position he's the starting right right guard for the rest of the Year Joe Noom becomes the backup and I think you could you could really see a similar situation this year when it comes to that left tackle position no boom has shown in the past while not in large durations like Jackson did last year he has shown in short since that he can hold down the left side so if no boom was playing well and sort of builds that cohesiveness at left tackle alongside Jonah Jackson and Steve AA at Center um I think it's a real opportunity for no to sort of lock down the left side at least for the first couple weeks if he can if he can stay healthy for the the gration of the year maybe he holds down that spot for for for the entirety of the season but either way big opportunity for no disappointing forer Jackson who really um you know like I said this was this was an opportunity for Jackson kind of show that he could be a starting left tackle in in in in the NFL sort of backup what he what he did last year here and uh not really the way that he would want he would have wanted to start off that campaign and I think this kind of goes back to to that goes back to as well is you know this isn't a complaint about how the draft win at all BRS obviously were very lucky to get Jared first at the 19th overall pick obviously super related that he dropped dropped that far um in the second round they obviously dropped to Bren Fisk um really good really good um really good first two rounds I I don't think anybody has any complaints about that but I think as well as those first two rounds went there was there was always some speculation that maybe um maybe should have drafted left tackle you know uh obviously obviously U fashanu went over went at 10th overall but they still a chances to draft um Troy Troy fanu out of Washington who you maybe maybe was seen more as a guard in the NFL but certainly could have could um could play could play in the left tackle spot Ram Rams actually met with him before the draft and then obviously Tyler dyon was was another player who has had actually he was seen as sort of a raw Prospect but has actually had a really good training camp with the Dallas Cowboys and and we'll see what he's like what he's like in the regular season but um somebody that has shown that he somebody who has who has so far this offseason taken use those physical tools and shown that he can possibly be a starting the tackle this year on the left side so um and then obviously in as you had into the third round you had you had Kingsley sual Su Malta out of um out of Yale who went in the third you you all these guys sort of um I think you had Javon Javon FX I think later on later on in the draft as well who had a really good Senior Bowl out of missou you all these guys that um in a really good tackle draft in the Rams really really really didn't address that position at all really putting all their eggs in the basket of AAR Jackson and um obviously him him suspended for for the first two games isn't isn't what you what you want to see uh at the same time though Rams do have Rams do have to feel somewhat good about their depth at at along the offensive line in general you have Joon noou who has starting left tackle experience like I said earlier and um and there really shouldn't be that much of a drop off here they both kind of offer those those those those same those same um the same kind of skill set the same level of play uh Jackson might be a little bit heavier um and sort of fit the Rams more fit their power run scheme their Gap run scheme a little bit better um but from a for the most part from a skill from a skill level perspective uh the there's not going to be a huge drop off between Eric Jackson and and and Joe noin which which is why like I said the no is playing well if he builds a good rapport with Jonah Jackson there on the left side at left guard um it wouldn't really be surprising at all if if Noom you know if he can take advantage of this a little bit and uh I think everybody's kind of been waiting to see um to see Noom kind of kind of take this self tackle position ever since he was drafted and and kind of take kind of embrace it and take that take it on as his own and we we haven't gotten that and this will be an opportunity for him in what will be a contract season uh to sort of just sort of prove him himself and while I don't necessarily think RS would give him another long-term extension this could potentially get him something similar to what Andre deer got that this this past offseason maai beckon some some of these Fringe starting left tackles that have gotten deals on the offseason in free agency with with other teams in the NFL so um as far as kind of where this leaves the offensive line like I said there shouldn't be that much of a skill drop off uh I think week one against the Detroit Lions you'll get Joe noo there on the left side you'll get Jonah Jackson they're at left guard um Steve a at Center and then you also have Kevin doton and Rob havenstein they're at right tackle but as far as like kind of dep depth goes um as far as like kind of the backup to Joon at left tackle I think you'll see Warren McLendon potentially and then I think this also does kind of open up a spot too for AJ arery who has played a left tackle here in the preseason and actually played play played really played really well on that on that left side and um shown that he can maybe kind of um be that uh be be a potential swing tackle in the NFL kind of kind of maybe that's a ceiling but but that but that's okay for a guy that was drafted as L as he was um a swing tackle is obviously is obviously a good return on return on investment return on investment there so um yeah I I I I I think this kind of opens up kind of another roster spot there along the offensive line uh when you look at kind of that initial 53 man roster decisions that the Rams are going to make here um next week next week after after they play Texans it kind of opens opens up a spot there for for AJR carry uh to to get a roster spot there's a lot of depth along that offensive line the Rams were going to and are going to have to make some difficult decisions there and uh AJ ariri who does have starting experience he start a game against the uh Kansas City Chiefs back in 2022 when the rants were going through a bunch of their uh offensive line issues back back back during that season so AR's kind of been in the system been um with with in in the r building the last couple years and he should get an opportunity here to to potentially earn a spot on that 53 man roster moving on to just kind of some some other quick hitters here Matthew Stafford after his hamstring injury last week uh returned back to practice and L looked uh pretty good against the Houston Texans Jonah Jackson is expected back at practice next week according to sha mcfay uh Jackson spent all of OTAs out due to his injury they suffered last year the are kind of resting him and hopefully preparing him for training camp but unfortunately uh due to a due to a a scapula injury Jackson has has had to most of training C so he'll be back next week and hopefully get to practice with the starting offensive line before week one against the Lions and then lastly the ram signed running back S rodri Thompson um to sort of give them some uh running back depth heading into this to this last preseason game I know there's a lot of questions to why has made this type of move but um it's one of those things where you know you have you have Boston Scott who sort of sort of the veteran of this running back group you have you have Ronnie Rivers obviously and I think this is just kind of I I I wouldn't see Thompson as sort of anybody that's sort of someone who's going to make the make the initial 53 man roster by any means I I wouldn't even necessarily see him as somebody that's going to make the practice sad but but going into this last this last preseason game this final preseason game similar to how like back when back when there were four preseason games in that last preseason game you saw um a lot of those a lot of those really back end of the depth chart guys get get a lot of the work I think you're going to see that see that a lot this week as well and sagic Thompson sort of allows Rams to maybe play Boston Scott a little bit here in that final in the final preseason games maybe spell spell him a little bit and sort of be a backup running back option to Zack Evans here um as as Rams play the Houston Texans on Saturday SJ Thompson has experience with the new orans Saints uh and Dallas Cowboys and then last year he got actually a little bit of time um he spent some time with the Seattle Seahawks and actually was elevated to the active roster at one point last season so um I I wouldn't really expect him to be much more of a just a body for this final pron game and and and and not much else but of course you never know if he shows out he could potentially earn a spot on the on the practice squad uh and then kind of moving on to sort of this the first topic I really want to discuss today uh we drink water really fast the first topic that I really want to discuss today is the cornerback dep there's will be a lot of discussion about what the Rams are going to do at cornerback uh earlier this week the Rams cut cut Jerry Jacobs they just signed they just signed two weeks ago um after after jny Kendrick went down with his 20 and bringing Jerry Jacobs who has who comes in came in from the Detroit Lions as somebody with experience with Aubrey Pleasant and at the time it sort of makes sense you know the the Rams had Darius Williams and Trey white They al have they have K Durant as well who has who has had a really good pre-season um none has done this the preseason but really good offseason really good OTAs and training camp and somebody that the ramps are really excited about you bring in Jerry Jacobs as sort of this experienced dep and the Rams actually cut him which was which was a little bit of a little bit of of a surprise considering where the Rams quarterback room is at the moment I mean like like I said you have you have Trey white you have jerius Williams you have Kobe Durant but after that you don't really have a lot um as that fourth quarterback you're looking at Joshua Wallace who ram signed as an who ram signed as an unor free agent this offseason and Joshua Wallace has had a really good preseason he's l two receptions 36 coverage snaps um he's done he's done um he's done really well uh on on the outside and gives some depth on on on the boundary there but still when you're looking at sort of that that initial 53 man roster and you're only keeping four guys that you're obviously very thin at the at at the cornerback at the cornerback position um and so there's been a lot of speculation now you know will the Rams go out and sign and AA will AA Willer spoon will they bring Willer spoon back uh you you have Xavian available on the fre Market still JC Jackson uh JC Jackson is suspended the first for the first game first game of the season but still JC Jackson would have been a guy that would have brought brought in some experienced quarterback def brought in an experienced brought in an experienced player in that room so and then you also have adori Jackson as well um still available to be signed to be signed to a roster you do you do have guys available but at the same time like I said you have Trey white you have jerus Williams if if any of these guys are brought in going to be brought in at the as the third quarterback at the very least Rams didn't assign Trey white or Darius Williams come in and be the third quarterback they brought in those two players to start and that's exactly what's going to happen so um as much as you know bring bringing back and a killo wheer spoon would would be beneficial that's not to say kill will spoon he had a really good first half of the Season kind of kind of kind of dropped off there over the second half of the year but that's still somebody who's who's familiar with the system familiar with with the players in with the players on on on the defense and in the building and um somebody who like I said yeah he's he's he's an experienced player who was just who was just on this roster last year so to be able to bring bring him in would be nice but at the same time uh killer will doing sign last year towards the end towards the um at the of training camp as sort of kind of a appr prove it type deal let me prove what I'm able to do had a really good year the year before in San Francisco but um yeah with a spoon is Willis spoon I after doing that after playing how he thinks he did last year and playing how he did um he's not somebody that's going to come in and be and want want to be the third quarterback behind Trey white Trey white and darus Williams he's gu that's want gonna want to start that's going to want to start on the boundary so if the Rams were to suffer an injury injury with Trey white or D or darus will was to reinjure his his hamstr or whatnot Ram would probably without a doubt call up a Killa Willis and and and and bring him back in but as it stands right now uh that's that's probably not an option and not something that that K that a k will really wants to do he's going to hold out he's going to hold it out wait it out see see what his options are see if there's any injury that comes up where he does become that best starter on the outside and if that's in Los Angeles great if not um that's that's that's fine too but I don't think K Willis or xav Howard and ETA you can just you can just go down the line I don't think any of those players are going to want to come in and be the be the third quarterback UM quarterback on on on the depth chart and and and like I said Josh Wallace who drafted who RS signed as an undrafted free agent has has done really well and again like obviously four four quarterbacks isn't ideal but at the same time you look at how the Rams are planning on using their you us using their defensive backs especially at safety you look at the safeties on the offer and you have you have Quinton Lake who played really well in the slot last slot last year in that star roll you have Russ yeast who can who can come come down and play in the slot as well uh Jayla Malla who can kind of be that play as that dime um that dime safy that that that dime linebacker per se um in in in in in dime packages and play towards play Closer to the line of scrimmage you have Jason Taylor the second who can do that as well so you have depth at while you don't necessarily have depth at corner um you especially in the slot you you have that they the Rams have that at the safety position with guys like Quinton Lake um Russ East jayen MCC and and Jason Taylor so you have obviously uh Trey white and Darius Williams who are both going to play on the boundary you have Kobe Durant who has played really well this off season and and somebody that the Rams see uh as as as as someone who can who does have position flexibility he can he can play in the slot or out wide um earlier uh I think it was last week Shawn McVey said about uh Kobe Durant he's been outstanding he's really understanding the scheme he has such great movement he's really understanding how to how to be able to trigger on Concepts where those play opportunities arise he really understands have to be able to play a lot a lot of that technique that oby Pleasants coaching specifically from the outside corner location he has position flexibility he's had he's had as consistent and as good of a camp as anybody on the defense as as anybody on the defensive side of the ball so I Kobe Durant is somebody that's absolutely perfect for that third quarterback role and then behind you behind him like I said you likely have Joshua WS who who who is likely leading leading the um the quarterback uh competition there ahead of uh you got you have Cam lamin and char Charles Woods back there as well but as far as you know as far as slot dep like I said you you have Quinton Lake you have R Jam M and and Jason Taylor who can come down and play there if needed in in in Nickel in nickel and dime packages um and then kind of another position that BR really have a lot of um a lot of I think this be some hard conversations here there's been a lot of conversation about what the Rams may do when it comes to the linebacker pos position and really last week really complicated things um you have Ernest Jones uh Christian rosoom Jake KMEL and Troy rer is sort of that top four and as much as um as much as as much as people don't want to hear it those those guys are locks on the roster Ernest Jones clearly is the starting linebacker he's top of depth chart he's somebody to be on a roster Christian Rose boom as much as people don't like him he he is exp experience in the scheme um and in a in kind of going into the the B half of last year in a reduced role in weeks 11 to 17 Christian Rose actually ranked he I think the 18th overall linebacker according to Pro Football Focus and he ranked Fifth and coverage and while Pro Football Focus isn't the end all Beall with with with anything I I think it still kind of gives you an idea of how Rose improved as as as the year went on and sort of like I said in that in that reduced role and then uh behind him you have Troy reer who again an experienced player I know I know fans are really fans are really don't love the idea of Troy weer playing on defense and to be to be honest Troy Troyer likely won't play a lot on defense the Rams kind of see him as more of a special teams guy and like I said he's sort of that he's sort of that veter that veteran in the room and somebody who's just kind of good good to he's a he's he's somebody that's just good to have on the roster he's like I said experienced knows the defense um can play on special teams is when willing willing willing to do that dirty work he is probably going to he is very likely going to make the final 53 if we look sort of at at how the Rams have addressed the um addressed the preseason snaps over the throughout the Sham era if a guy isn't playing in the preseason he's liking on the roster and Ernest Jones Christian rosin and Troy rer have not played at all in the preseason so by all means they are they are likely locked to make that initial 53 and then Jake hmel um hmel has played really well this preseason uh he's been one of the better one of the better coverage linebackers but last week he had some really good moments in the running game as well I I love what he's done kind of in pursuit to the football there's there was a play last week that was was sort of a swing pass to the running back and J com had really good really good Pursuit and um really stop the stop running back in made a really good tackle on space and stop stop the running back in his tracks and then you kind of get to that first you get to that first uh Red Zone position from the Chargers and the the Chargers are there obviously within the five yard line jcell makes a really good stop uh to stop the Chargers running back there within the five and then he makes makes another really good stop uh fills the Gap uh and and tackles the running back for for for for no gain and then the very next play uh the running back OB obviously fumbles with J Kell right there on the ball um and and and I believe I think it was Jason J Jason Taylor I think ended up recovering the fumble but Jake KL was was was was right there on the on the play as well so we love really love the body work that Jay KL has done but then is you also have Omar Omar Spates who our special teams made a fantastic tackle last week sort of really really read the play really well and had had one of the bigger hits in the game and then you kind of get to the second half of that game when Jay KL um comes off the field and Omar space is playing really well on defense especially especially in especially in the Run game and I think when you look at sort of RS are probably going to keep end up keeping four linebackers it's really can come down to like I said as much as his fans don't want don't want don't want that to be Christian rosem or Troy weer those guys are on are very likely on the roster so it's going to come down to J KL or or Omar spaces as that as that fourth linebacker and these these guys are two very different players you Omar space who's who's much better in the Run game than he is in coverage and you have J KL who is a lot better in coverage and he is in a run game just just just from a just from a size perspective I believe u let me let me take a look here really fast but you have Jake HL who is um Jake hmel let's see here who is he's 61 and uh height weight uh this makes for great pwn casting uh Jay cell is 61236 so again a little bit on the lighter side and you have Omar Spades uh height weight uh who is they they are around around the same size but 61236 but uh Omar space just plays a lot bigger than than than hmel does um so like my point point really wasn't proven there with the um with with with their sizes but again Omar space just really plays a lot bigger plays a lot more physical than a guy like hmel does that's not to say humel and physical what not like I said against the Chargers he made some really nice plays there in the Run game uh filling filling the Gap there um to to to to get a get a redstone stop get a goal line stop and sort of be very much responsible for for that for what was a very big turnover in that game so again these are two very different players J Cel J cell's been in the building longer he very likely will get the um get the nod and so is as tough as it as tough as as tough as it is as tough as a decision as this going to be RS are are rams realistically are going to end up having to cut Omar Spates and I think sort of the which is which which is disappointing because like I said Omar Omar space has played really well again the pr season he's had a really good offseason was one of the more of out of the undrafted free agents that R up signing he was one of the guys that I that I like the best some somebody who I thought really really could um make the roster and he's he's made he's made every case to make it's just the fact of the matter is Rams don't value Rams don't and haven't valued the linebacker position ever since really throughout throughout throughout the um throughout throughout the sh Fe era uh you obviously back in 2017 they moved on from James laas you had um you the Rams last High pick at linebacker was uh was Alec OG tra move on from him and since it's been on free agans and late round picks like like uh like a like like like a Cory Littleton for example who was an unshed free agent who who ended up really uh out playing out outplaying his status and I could absolutely see a guy like like like Omar space be coming that at some point and spend maybe spending this year between the between the roster and and the practice squad uh but at for for the time being like I said you know it's it's it's very likely the Rams do keep a guy a guy like Troy rer on for now just just just just based on just based on experience now that could change as the year goes on and Omar Spates might get an no later on in the year but for now that that that that's kind of how how I see it and I think kind of is is is you know as much of a risk as Rams to be taking cutting Omar Spades because you have you have to you have to presume that teams are obviously watching and paying attention to guys around the league that might get cut so as much as though it would as hard of a decision as it would be to cut C got like space as much of a risk as that would be to lose him it's also important to remember that if another team decides to sign Omar Spates they can't just take Spates take Spates and sign him directly directly to the practice squad they Omar Spates has to be signed to another team's active roster um and why is that important that isn't that is important because NFL roster spots roster spots are severely severely limited so you look at the Rams and all these difficult roster decisions that they have and all 32 teams are having having very similar conversations these are these are very difficult decisions and in in the grand scheme of things while guys do get claimed on waivers after being cut it's only a handful of players every year and that's because these Rost spots are so limited and you teams have spent all offseason onboarding these players and getting them familiar familiar with their playbooks with their schemes it with their personnel coaches Etc if a team signs a noar spes for example let's say let's say just for example the Minnesota Vikings were to sign Omar Spates they're bringing Omar Spates in and they're having to go through the onboard process that onboarding process all over again so I really think ifs do c home more space there is a risk there is obviously a risk and losing him there's a risk and losing any player that you would cut but at the same time I I I do think Spates would very very likely end up back on um back on back on Rams practice squad and at that point depending on on injuries and things like that as year goes on uh the Rams to potentially potentially Elevate Spates to the to to the um to the active roster throughout this through throughout the season and that kind of just brings us now to the um to the last thing here and that's the ram versus Texans Saturday at 1 pm eastern time I haven't decided yet but I will very likely I'm going to try I'm going to try we'll see how it goes I'm going to try to do a live stream here on playback um and on YouTube um during the game like it's it's it's a it's the last preas the last preseason game there won't be a ton going on um so I is so as exciting as it is to watch um watch thir string fourth string players uh I'm I'm GNA hopefully be hosting a a live stream right here and and get you guys involved in show hopefully have some active conversations as the game goes on and kind of see what sck what what is sticking out during the game for you guys uh but as far as kind of players that need to stand out I think it's a huge game for set and Bennett a huge game um while the Rams don't necessarily have a well the RS don't necessarily have a backup quarterback option outside of outside sson Bennett OB drer win also on the roster but I wouldn't expect him to again get any PR pres want to get set and Bennett as much as much work as possible so um I would expect s Bennett to play the entire game once again but I really don't think his roster spot is is guaranteed if he has another game like he had even last week I think I think I think the important thing here is I me you hear what you hear what Shawn mcve has said I I'll bring up the quotes here uh I have I have them up but you kind of look at what sha mcy what Shawn mcy has said here um over the last over the last couple weeks and it really sounds like this is very much still kind of an evaluation process uh P mcfay I think he's done a really good job of taking taking steps in the right directions in the right direction all we talk about is making progress and what does that what does progress look like he is progressing I've been really pleased he hasn't gotten a ton of reps he's gotten a ton of reps in these preseason games but Jimmy grao is taking a majority of the other reps um let's see and then you kind of you kind of just kind of continue to to to go by what what what sh F said he says we'll use all the time that we have if we have to air on the side of caution is going to give us more chances to evaluate ston and also Jimmy and some of these practice settings so if that's what we have so if that's what we have to do but I don't necessarily have a timeline I know the latest timeline as as it relates to that but if he continues to progress to progress you'll be pleased that's all we can hope for you're always just evaluating each day but to his credit where he's come from and all and and the way that he's act he's acted interacted and responded to all the different things thrown at him I've been I've been proud of sets and I really have so while hav't have been pleased with ston Bennett or allegedly pleased with ston Bennett throughout throughout the offseason throughout the offseason throughout the preseason is is still very much an evaluation process so if set Barett comes out and throws three four interceptions like he did back in the first week of the preseason I would expect the Rams to potentially go out and try to sign you know as kind of ironic as it is uh Brett rippen is having a really good preseason with the Chicago Bears if he's cut he's somebody that has experience experience in the offense and somebody that the Rams could sign as a back up um I think the r Rams would have to potentially make a call on Ryan tanah Hill at least to see to see if he's interested coming in as backup for the first two weeks there are guys there are backup there are quarterbacks that are going to get cut here um here next week and if somebody's C that kind of raises an eyebrow or uh has kind of experience in a Shawn MC day type offense that's somebody that the RS would have to that the RS would have to consider bringing in if ston Bennett um doesn't perform well here in this final preseason game and you know while Bennett did make progress he did take steps in the right direction against the Los Angeles Chargers last week he did at the end of the day throw an interception in the Red Zone which again it's a preseason it's a meaningless game but at the same time it's still a turnover and uh and it's just not it's just not something you want to see and later on in the game where he's kind of stepping up in the pocket and looking looking to take off running he just have to be more cognizant of the of of protecting the football in in that in in that situation and Bennett has played has had some positive moments last couple weeks he's made some really nice really nice throws from the far hash to a far sideline he obviously had the touchdown last week to JJ lap which is deep down the which was deep down the field he is making impressive throws but it's it's very the SE experience is very up and down it's a roller coaster and you would really like like to see that kind of level level out a little bit and just for to be a little a little bit more consistent I think if the Rams can see a more of a consistent sets and banit in this final preseason game um I I I I do think they feel obviously a little bit comfortable with him with him as a backup but right now I'm not sure you can confidently conf confidently say that set and benett is the best option for a backup quarterback behind Matthew Stafford for the first two games of the season and um so is it's likely is it probably is a s that s Mana is backup quarterback I I still don't think it's fully guaranteed that that that that is the case uh then kind of moving on like I said earlier I think if Omar space plays really well he making really difficult for the Rams on what we do at linebacker If he if he has another week like he had last like he did last game against the Chargers I could see them potentially going against the gra gra a little bit and and and and keeping keeping five linebackers or um they might they may have make a tough decision uh further up the dep chart there and see if you know maybe they can cut Troy reader and get him on the practice squad and keep and and then and then uh keep keep keep Omar's face so just something something to watch at linebacker I think you also have to look at uh Logan bruss uh bruss I think with the uh with the um with the allar Jackson suspension I think it just kind of gives makes it a lot more likely that someone like Logan Bron who who's had a really good preseason and as much as fans weren't really fans of the Logan bruss pick at the time I think you have to be happy happy and pleased with how with how he's played this offseason I think at the very least he's shown that he can be a depth piece on this offensive line so if he plays well plays well again here in this third preseason game I I think he's somebody that that that does make this roster and and and it ends up being a very key a key death piece on this on on this offensive line another guy I'll be watching is J Maka at safety uh not somebody that I would expect to make the roster but somebody who will be fighting for fighting with with these other safeties to maybe steal a Ros spot or at the very least um make make a make it onto the practice squad and then the last guy desan Johnson on the defensive line uh who again I think I mentioned this last week sign caros Watkins a bit more of a bigger body had a really good game last week get the charges made made his impact felt you really felt him on the field uh and desan Johnson has desan Johnson has had a really good a really good off season and and has shown that he he can play play against one a little better despite despite his smaller size as a defensive lineman but still somebody where you know he was Mr Mr Irrelevant last year nothing's going to be guaranteed for him throughout throughout his career so if he performs well I I I think I think he I I I do think especially with the signing Carlos Watkins guy like Johnson is is fighting for a roster spot and um if if he plays well he should he should he should lock that up but um yeah I think that's going to do it this for this week guys uh like I said if you're watching over on YouTube please hit that like button hit that subscribe uh be sure to leave a comment let me know what you think um of just you know who who has stood out who stood out to you guys throughout the preseason throughout training camp who do you guys want to see on the roster what do you guys think of the quarterback dep the quarterback depth linebacker depth Etc uh it would it would really mean a lot look forward to hopefully hopefully having those conversations with you over on YouTube and again um like I said hopefully I will be live during the Houston Texans game again that is tomorrow today's Friday I'm recording this on Friday night hopefully during the season these these will come out closer closer to to win closer to Wednesdays but still kind of still kind of figuring that out we' Friday Friday the last couple weeks and that that that hasn't been too bad but the Rams play the Houston Texans Saturday at 1 pm 1 pm. Eastern 10: a.m. Pacific for their final preseason game last chancef first from these these these uh bottom of the roster guys bottom of the dep CH guys to to show what they have and and and make their cases for for roster spots so um that's going to do it for episode 5 Rams call sheet I'm your host playing gack thanks for tuning in and I'll see you next time
