hello everyone my name is MC Atlas and welcome back to another US state progress video in today's video I'm doing only one state but that state is the one and only Illinois Illinois is very well-known and popular state with it being home to the US's third biggest city Chicago which is a population of 2.75 million people as of the 2020 census and a metro population of 9.4 million people the state of Illinois itself has 12.8 million people making it the sixth most populous state overall all those people live in 59.6 th000 squ Mi which makes Illinois the 25th largest state by area Illinois is much more than just Chicago however Rockford is the biggest city not in the Chicago metro area and has a population of 148,000 Springfield is the capital of Illinois and with a population of 114,000 people Springfield is the capital of Illinois despite many attempts to make it Chicago good thing Abraham Lincoln was from Springfield and influenced that decision because if not Chicago would probably have complete control over the state if it was the capital [Music] [Music] n a [Music] I [Music] hopefully you enjoyed today's video if you did drop a like if you didn't drop a dislike the button to use it please feel free nobody stopping you and I'll see you lot on the next one safe
