hallelujah it's a day to remember the service and sacrifice of a fallen Grand Prairie Police Officer on June 18th 2004 Sergeant Gregory El Hunter was shot and killed while investigating a suspicious van at the Walmart on Interstate 20 the gunman was later killed during a standoff with police who found weapons ammunition and explosives in the vehicle Greg Hunter was a hero he is a hero during a memorial Tuesday Sergeant Hunter was praised as a hero who saved lives that day he led by example he was a Godly Man and many of us that were starting our careers looked at him as an example and a beacon on how we should be the slain officers Widow and daughter spoke about his Devotion to Faith Family and police work Greg was the most amazing human being that I've ever met I will forever be his wife Aon and I Rejoice that Greg won the victory of everlasting life in the presence of the Lord as a faithful believer and we will always Finly and lovingly remember Greg and be grateful to God for Greg's life well lived now every time a siren sounds or we approach the month after May my deepest sorrow comes to mind my hero died that day I love you Dad and thank you for your Brave and selfless sacrifice for always being a faithful dedicated and loving husband and father and a faithful servant who honored and served God first your light will always shine bright in all of our Lives Hallelujah the ceremony ended with the release of three doves to honor the Holy Trinity that Sergeant Hunter worshiped and then the release of black and blue balloons symbolizing his 30-year career with gppd Sergeant Hunter is one of five grand Perry police officers who have been killed in the line of duty
