alongside Alec bom Omaha's own Allstar Alec it's been an amazing season for you what do you think is attributed most to the year you've had so far uh I think it's a combination of a lot of things you know just experience getting more comfortable it's my fifth season now and just I think uh you know the more you're surrounded by a bunch of really good players it's only going to make you better so I think you know my teammates and all the guys that have been around the clubhouse and the field and everything have you know really rubbed off on me a little bit and helped me out for sure well 3 hours from your hometown of Omaha I know there's plenty of friends and family in the stands how special is that moment for you just to see those familiar faces it's cool this is the uh this the first time I played here and it's it's close to where I went to college close to where I grew up so you know it's it's kind of got a little bit of a special place in my heart it's kind I think this was the first Big League Stadium I went to as a kid so know growing up like this was the coolest place ever when we were you know 8 n years old playing baseball so yeah it's really cool to come back here for the first time time and see all the familiar people and friends and stuff that I haven't seen in a while well did you ever think you'd come back here as an Allstar let alone a starter in that All-Star game yeah you know that's yeah we didn't think that far into it but it was it's nice to definitely have that for sure yeah what was that experience like for you and just being with some of those guys I'm sure you grew up watching yeah it was awesome I mean a little bit of shock I guess a little bit of like wow I'm really here but uh you know it was cool to you know be around all the you know the game's best players and to you know have that that weekend share that moment with we had a bunch of guys there too a bunch of much I think the most Phillies ever had go to an All-Star game so that's really cool and yeah just you know sharing that with everybody was a lot of fun when you think back to your journey not only in Nebraska you weren't recruited by the Corn Huskers didn't get an offer from there you go to Witchita State how much of that do you carry as kind of a chip on your shoulder oh it's no chip I think it all worked out exactly the way it was supposed to you know I'm not there's no hard feelings on who did or did recruit me or anything like that you know that's just it's all in the past it's all part of you know Sports I guess so you know there's no hard feelings but it's it's just always fun to come home and you know play around where you grew up and there's obviously you know there's not a big league team in Nebraska and all that stuff so it's cool when you get to get close to home okay I talked to Brandon Marsh your roommate he told me that you've never tried renza before or that you've never made him try renza before is that true well there's I mean where am I going to get it it's true so yeah no but it's a thing is a Kansas City thing I don't think there's any in KC so probably the closest is I mean maybe couple hours away but would you let him try runs that you think it's worthy I'd let him try it I'm sure he'd enjoy it he's not too picky so last one Alec what would you say to those young kids in Omaha that want to grow up and be Alec bow and make it to the big leagues just keep playing uh it doesn't really matter where you're from who you are any of that stuff I think uh at the end of the day if if you got it you're going to make it so just keep playing keep enjoying it and let the chips fall where they may well congrats on everything thanks so much for the time yeah thank you
