Why Georgia Bulldogs Are the Team to Beat in EA Sports College Football 2025 | Season Preview

we continue to roll on with the number one team in the nation Georgia one team in EA Sports college football 25 is the Georgia Bulldogs at 95 overall look no further than their Star Quarterback Carson Beck who decided to return for another season as a big reason why Georgia is going to be tough to stop Beck is a top two- rated quarterback in the game coming in at 93 overall you'll have plenty of weapons to get the ball to including their top returning wide receiver 86 overall domic love it and Rising tight end Oscar Delp he's rated 90 overall you won't have to only rely on the passing game though Florida transfer running back Trevor etn 88 overall leads a talented backfield behind one of the game's top offensive lines head by the number one guard in the game in Tate rage he checks in at 95 overall as you'd expect you'll also get to command some Elite defensive players such as Edge Michael Williams at a 93 overall and Malachi Starks at corner a 95 overall both are top five players at their respective positions on the number two rated defense in the game hey hit that like button if you want to see more exclusive videos from the game and that was a great lead in to our next segment as we preview the dogs upcoming season but first let's go to last season Georgia with 12 straight wins a record 29 straight if we're really getting technical here but a loss in the SEC Championship Game to Alabama meant no playoff birth it ended on a high note though with a 60o victory over Florida state in the orang Orange Bowl so let's bring on Jordan Hill from dogs 247 Jordan before we get into our season preview I do have to ask you about the unfortunate news coming out earlier today more yet another arrest coming out of this Georgia program you've got linebacker smile London offensive tackle B Huli both arrested this week on misdemeanor charges involving reckless driving given this latest news and things that have happen in the offseason for George's program what's the latest here you know it's a situ where we're sort of still waiting to get all the information from the police over what had happened these are two separate incidents which I think to me is particularly interesting both UGI a red shirt freshman offensive tackle was arrested Tuesday night smile mundon was arrested Wednesday night and we've learned this afternoon the AJC and anthon Spiner Herold have both reported that Dello Jones was also involved in that incident with smile mundon so we're sort of waiting to see you know this is a situation that's really serious for Georgia we're talking out at this point five players this offseason have been involved in driving related offenses um so it's a situation you we're only about a year and a half removed from the car accident that claimed the lives of Devon Willock and Chandler lroy so all eyes are on Georgia right now and understandably so again we're waiting for all the information from the police but you know it's going to be a situation Kirby Smart is sure to be asked about next week when we get to Dallas at SEC media day I'm sure you guys will be on top of it as well at dogs 247 you can continue to read that coverage there I do want to ask you about football though pivoting hard here to Michel Williams he is pivoting himself making a shi to the outside what or how could this potentially affect George's defense I think it's a big opportunity first off for Michel and he was a guy that you know you look at his sophomore season I think especially statistically it was a little bit disappointing he'd sort of been a breakout freshman for Georgia two years ago and I think he sees that he's a versatile guy he's a guy that when he signed with Georgia sort of advertised as an outside linebacker he's mostly played at defensive end but I think he sees that hey they can line him up and let him loose and and make offenses guess about where exactly number 13's going to be on the field so he looked really good at gday back in April they kind of let him loose had him on the defensive line had him standing up he had an outstanding game I think they realized that he's a guy that can take on a lot in this defense and not only will it let number 13 get out there and make a bunch plays but they got a ton of Talent on the defensive line I think that opens up Reps for some of those guys and I think this defense is ready to make the most of it on the offensive side of the ball Carson Beck went into last season knowing that he was the starter but this season he enters with tons of high expectations what have you seen from him in the off season as far as how he's preparing differently for these The increased expectations going into 20124 you know starting with spring practice when we talked to him I mean he admitted that it felt very different than the year before when he was fighting Brock Vander for that starting role you know he said he couldn't help but watch you know what Brock Vander is doing how is he playing in this practice what is he looking like and you know now he comes in as the unquestioned starter and I think that it allowed Carson to really focus on himself work on his mechanics really harp on everything that he could clean up before this season and you I think we've continued to see that through the offseason I know Dylan Bell shared a photo early in the summer of Carson back Dylan Bell I think Kobe young was out there as well getting in those reps on their own you know that the coaches can't organize some of those practices but I think Carson's done a very good job of stepping up as a leader trying to get on the same page with an offense that looks loaded I mean it looking at the video game a few minutes ago I think a lot of that is going to translate to real life he has got a lot of weapons around him he's one of the Heisman favorites going into the season and I think it's for good reason but based on everything we've seen I think that Carson has made the most of this off season he real is he's got a very big opportunity ahead of yeah Kirby Smart and his staff doing work putting together the number one recruiting class headed into this year of course headlined by five-star defensive backs Ellis Robinson and KJ Balton how much of an impact do you anticipate this Freshman Class making this fall well it's always hard to break that starting role or even the the to deep at Georgia just with the talent that they've accumulated over the years but I think looking at those two DBS those are the guys that have great opport opportunities KJ Balton we continued to hear great things about him I think he's a guy that it's a matter of when not if that he winds up breaking in that starting role opposite of Malachi Starks back there at safety and a lot of great things about Ellis Robinson as well I mean he came in and went through Bowl practices and you were hearing immediately about just how insane his length is at cornerback and what he's able to do I think those two guys are really well positioned to make some kind of impact sooner rather than later but there's a few other guys I'm watching to Fraser who's a running back that's just getting here in the summer Joseph Jonah j a defensive lineman that they got that very very impressive through the spring again I always try to pump the brakes on really you know talking highly about these freshmen because you know they're going to run into a wall you know they're going to have situations where it doesn't quite go like it used to when they were playing on Friday nights but there's no doubt that there's a reason this was the number one class in the country and I think several of those guys are going to make an impact by the time it's said and done Jordan when we do these season previews we've been ending on a question just about the expectations for insert team here with the changing landscape of college football Georgia is uh definitely uh seeing some things changing around them right you have two new teams in the SEC no divisions no Nick Sav a 12 team playoff but how does that change the expectation for the Bulldogs this year you know I think that really looking at all the changes I think the departure of Nick sa I think Georgia fans see this as a golden opportunity to jump back in and try to win their third National Championship in four years and obviously it's going to be difficult you look at that schedule at Alabama Texas Old Miss I think you're looking at a situation where it's going to be hard to go undefeated in the regular season but at the same time it's kind of the perfect season to have the schedule you've got the 12 team playoff you've got a little bit more wiggle room if you do drop one of those games but you know I think again this is a team with championship aspirations I don't think Kirby Smart would admit this but I think that it is kind of beneficial that they lost that SEC title game you look to this year I think it's a very easy way to motivate this team to say look we fell short last year I think you're going to hear that quite a bit in Dallas at SEC media days this team's got a chip on its shoulder despite all the games it's won in the last few years and I think that's really dangerous if you're one of the teams having to play Georgia this season oh yeah we know Kirby Smart in the past has been grasping its straws to try to find something to motivate his team when they've been so perfect for so long and now Alabama Nick Savin gave it to them by way of a defeat in the SEC Championship game so look out for those dogs Jordan thank you so much for being here as always you can check out more of his great work at dogs 247 he and the entire crew provide the best coverage of what could be the best team in college football this season so check it all out at dogs 247.com [Music]
