On The Bubble: Which Wide Receiver Gets The Last Spot? Justyn Ross │ Kadarius Toney │ Nikko Remigio

I'm really curious now that it's SE preseason in the books JD and I have been going back and forth on our seven wide receivers all offseason long I mean probably dating back to what like April JD or like May probably yeah yeah yeah um so now we we got hopefully JD could shed some light on his final seven um receivers in this but tonight you know some of the guys we wanted to see step up uh canaras Tony uh people who you know said you know he was done came out gave was two good catches for 26 yards um look looked great uh the return game looked amazing as well had a nice little PRP return um even it was kind of a rough rough tackle too he he bounced bounced up pretty uh fast after that yeah um you know Justin Ross two catch of 16 yards had a nice hitch and then went up the field had a nice little quick burst which I'm surprised I was not expecting that that speed out of that uh out of that hitch um and then he caught a nice little slant route between two dudes uh tight window there was a nice pass but he caught the slant route for a first down a two for 16 micole Harman looked good returning the ball um so a lot of the guys who came in tonight well the one guy I will say who kind of disappointed me who's everyone every once touted this guy as being the next Sky Mo the next Gary T we can cut all those guys because this guy's gonna be great even in the return game he did all right was Nico rilio and I didn't see in a preseason game where he had pretty much the entire second half to kind of show who show out and show his thing didn't really do it didn't really do what a guy who's trying to like make that last you know receiver spot or be your starting Return Man he didn't really do that uh tonight for me at least um what did you guys make of the wire receivers um the guys who were on the cusp what did you guys make of their play tonight and who stood out to you well we know the four that didn't play rice Hollywood worthy and Watson you know they didn't even dress out so uh we we we feel like they're they're going to be on the squad that's going to be it I think they're going to carry seven guys uh so it's going to be I think Hardman gets in Sky gets in and the two between Justin Ross and KT is going to be the question okay uh the thing is KT had a good outing had a good outing he looked he looked good he ran great routes caught the ball well we know always talented that's it it's always the question with the injury bugs is is the big the big question with him that's it and when he gets hurt it breaks your heart it breaks your heart like a man you know and so it's good to see him healthy cashing the football and running R because you see how talented he is and so that's what I wanted to try to get on the people let him know like man it's not a question of talent we know he's a very talented guy uh as far as getting back into good grace with anding those guys seemed like it happened okay at a certain point that they was willing to accept him didn't want to get rid of him they didn't move on from him they started giving him a different role okay uh and so all of that is based up on his health it really is uh so it's going to be a big question I think between Justin Ross and KT that's why I was asking y'all how much did Justin Ross play special teams okay played Wing went down on kickoff that's gonna be a shoe in okay it's GNA be a very T this evaluation to get guys in it's going to be very very difficult so uh that's why I lay at it right now I think it's between Justin Ross and KT how they decide who's going to be on there t where do you stand on this whole thing man that's interesting you put sky so Sky Mo in your minds is already Like A step above those two other guys yeah uhhuh he he has value because he could play every position that's the good thing about him sky is he he's he could play XY slot he could play he can play every position uh and I think that's what it that that's what get Grace's value that's why they took him out they let him do some return because they still wanted to see what he could do return wise and then took him out and said no we don't want you playing offense we just want to see you at return that's it okay uh and so I think that's why they made a decision that he's he's another guy that's not necessarily on the bubble he will be that fifth receiver that they were thinking he makes it right um that's why the evaluation between the three guys that did play Hardman Ross and KT yeah it's crazy man just garius Tony and even Harmon really it just it's a good lesson to every young player out there who thinks just because you got dra in the early rounds that you haven't made for a while in the NFL you never do you're always proven something right you're either proving that you're better than the next guy or you're proving that you're worth a roster spot or you're proving that you're worth the contract you got or you're proving you're worth the money you're asking for um it's just you're always proven something you're never you're almost never secure even even when you get a a huge contract from that point on you're proven you're worth every penny of it right so really like there's never a point where you're like I'm good for a while right like I'm I'm set because it can go away so quickly I you got Tony who's drafted High We traded a third round for him he's playing late for his standards that he more late than he wants to be playing in a preseason game Harmon's the the hero of the Super Bowl and he's playing like the third quarter of a pre third preseason game like no matter what you do like you you you save your team season more or less and you're back to play Third preseason game late in the game it's just crazy man like you're just you're always it's just yeah man I it's it's amazing to me the NFL it just it's Cutthroat as as as as you people would say the cliche um as far as the the the depth goes what's are there any updates on Brown's injury he's the only one who they have no idea if he's going to play week one of all the guys who are injured right now he's the only one that is they don't know if he's going to play week one all the other guys they expect him to play in Baltimore he's the only one they don't know if he's going to play in B in Baltimore not gonna play in Baltimore yeah probably not yeah risk is he a risk of being put on a list yeah that that would be a way to try to get KT and Ross in the roster that would be and it' be a way that may be safe because you're the Chiefs I mean come on what are you you're playing for week three or you playing for a Super Bowl what are you playing for at this point right so um and receiver actually if you're having this conversation that means you have pretty good depth right so you know why mess with that with your top end Talent so I wouldn't be surprised if that happens and that's a way to keep both those guys Ross and KT um but yeah it probably is down those two and they're so different which is crazy um Ross is like the only like just superum siiz receiver we got though right I he's he's like he's two inches taller than the next tallest receiver we have Watson and Watson doesn't play like he's 6'2 by the way he does not he plays like he's like 5'11 that guy six foot he is not he do not play like 62 he must have been wearing lifts that day um like rasid rice plays bigger than Watson right and he's taller than rice but it's just a playing style um yeah yeah but like the playing style I think like Ross and rice are the like biggest biggest body guys out there like that um so you really don't have a lot of guys like that on our roster or at receiver um that probably helps him um yeah I mean come down to Ross and I think harman's in yeah it comes out of Ross and KT I would say right now I just can't see us holding KT for this long him not making at this point I feel like if he was gone he would have been gone already unless you know you've seen a lot of Trades happen today I mean unless they think they can get they can get something for him what are you talking about KT yeah or or or one of those guys unless they think they can get something for him I mean because this is this is the most he's been showcased all preseason which shows you I think the later you get showcased which means the closer to proving yourself you are right yeah so first half snaps because all those guys none of those guys play any offensive snaps after the first half but Ross had 27 snaps Tony had 17 offensive snaps Harman at 24 offensive snaps they didn't play off the rest of the game after that after yeah I said third quarter earlier my bad late in the first half um man yeah I if it came out of those two ask me Ross or Tony I think I [Music] go I go Ross wow all right I mean we've We we played the Tony game before right I think Ross is it's a service hasn't been scratched yet I think we keep expecting Tony to be where he should be but I think Ross actually is like getting better through the it test every year I mean he has he just he looks more confident the game looks a little slower to him um ex except we you know there's there's been a bit of a play confusion apparently people at training camp said that happens a lot at camp but then you saw today they had a call time out because he didn't know where to line up well okay if we're if we're going to grade Ross down on lining up incorrectly then Tony's the the freaking Headmaster of that that's fair that's fair that's fair I mean let's not hey Ross could be like you're not cutting me are you at least I did that in a preseason game not in a pivotal play of a game right but but putting your foot over the line is different from not being in put you know the right position you know that that's the retaining the information this is not just the a lapse of yeah like hey man back up right you been lineing back up you know like Jan Taylor like man back up or move forward you know things like that but yeah that's that's man that you know it is it's gonna be a tough evaluation it's gonna be a tough evaluation I think that's it is cadas Tony redundant that's why I think that's what they were trying to do with put him in the back field doing some different things with him uh just creating value creating him put in position to get the ball in hands uh and so uh I think it's really what they're going to they're going to look at they're going to look at how good Justin Ross was but if you do put you know Brown on IR maybe you s sit there and tell something like that for a couple of weeks okay and even this just don't rush him because there's no need to rush him back we got good enough as far as what we need to do offensively to get by I believe with Baltimore and Cincinnati okay still got Worthy still got rice a number one wide receiver worthy still I think is upgrade for what we had Scott Moore is a little bit better this year Justin Watts a little bit better this year we still got Travis Kel Noah gray Jared Wy we get we still got guys PCO back there so uh it's not like we're gonna be in a hard spot hard position to be no throwing the football and getting the guys you know guys can play so what a change for us in a year oh my Gosher come on the guys in the bubble the guys in the bubble this year were our starters last year were top three guy who's on the bubble we're talking about right now KT was our number one going to the season I mean a total three a lot of people have Sky Moore on the bubble by the way I mean I know you have them in there and and I kind of like you know I agree with what you're saying now but um a lot of people have Sky Moore in the bubble too but yeah I don't know how much that's uh they think he's actually on the bubble or they want him to be on the bubble they want him to be on the bubble there's a fine line yeah I think people get upset and disappointed with um them uh putting stock into a guy who didn't deliver right away so like they want to punish him by getting him off the team almost which is weird Behavior which which is also weird too when people place that same expectations on Ross who's literally this is his second full year playing football in like four years yeah and people place the expectation on udfa guy so of course they're gonna do it on on on Sky Moore with with who's a second round pick I mean of course they're gonna do that's unrealistic expectations for everybody um okay so we're gonna get to our final uh uh room here um this is more just kind of highlight these guys get I let me do something real quick go for it okay everybody that has that concern right but they love Justin Watson okay last two years for the Chiefs Justin Watson first year had 15 receptions second year had 27 okay two touchdowns three touchdowns Scott Moore first year 22 receptions and 21 receptions last year okay with one touchdown so we can sit there and saying that but as far as reception and stuff it's not that big of a deal not that big of a difference so who has more upside is what I'm looking at okay who can do more who can return the ball that's why they kept Sky Moore back in doing some returning okay just in case you don't have mcole Harman or you don't have KT doing the return I think that's the two guys you're looking at so they're evaluating all these different things on special teams right so let's just say that the Chiefs do have Hardman okay which I think they keep Hardman all right I think it to to be honest with you that's a guy that you need to keep he's been a consant guy that you've done to win the Super Bowls guys KN him he's at home youve drafted him he is at home he's at the right position he to be in okay he got rid of KT now you can put scy Moore and you could put Harman back every turnning the football okay but we start looking at you know guys like you said the expectations people have for them Scott Moore and Justin Waton is not that far off from each other as far as like you know receptions and all that just I mean come on let's let's just be real here okay can't say none of them just really blew it out the water the last couple of years I guess how they're being targeted plays a difference because their a DOT is pretty considerable Watson is 18.7 and 17.5 five Skyes is 7.9 and 8.9 but maybe that's the way they're being targeted but Watson does make bigger catches like and and they have a lot of air they have a lot of air under them he has caught some longer bigger balls he he also had more drops than Sky last year and that's a that's a that's something that is kind of a false narrative when it comes to Sky he drops a lot of passes an he was put in yeah no and and and Watson was put into position to catch those long balls you that's like you saying that's what you being 6'2 you supposed to do right I mean we going up throwing some deep balls okay you got some speed on you passer rating went passer rating went targeted 85 and 76 for Wattson 51 and 50 for Sky Moore um that also I mean there that also plays into it I I think a lot of it's expectation though I mean like we said that already like right if Watson was the second round if he was the second round pick he would be getting crapped on I think yeah yeah yeah I think he'd still have some truthers out there but I think um I think that also plays a big part of it but Sky Moore has been playing so bad for so long at this point that if he plays like if he shows any flashes at all I think people will be very quick to be like yeah see that's the guy I wanted this entire time I think people will be very quick to jump back on because you go from overrated to underrated really quickly especially in the NFL right you go from like a overrated to an Underdog Story fast so you know um well we also understand that you know the fans are fickle okay yes and himself is going to be like you said like you was talking about okay he's good all he sucks get rid of him and all that man it's like you know it's Randy Quaid in Major League that's that's what the fans are that's why that's why they make fun of that yeah there you go like he sit downam you Wen even cheering for this sucker last game okay there's my guy F skymore yeah giving high five put the hands down soon skymore does kill him in Yak that's for sure yes kills him in Yak but that's because probably because Watson has more of the air yards Sky Moore has more of the catch and go reard so right hi everybody thanks for watching subscribe here to get the
