entergy says 70 percent of the power has been restored to new orleans and while that's clearly a lot of progress some are frustrated with the alerts that say power has been restored in areas when in fact it hasn't danny manoverty reports work to get the lights back on continued in kenner on monday crews were busy removing downed poles at williams and vintage it's a similar scene across all of southeast louisiana right now and there was encouraging news when it comes to numbers 51 percent of customers who lost power now have it back in orleans parish in particular 70 percent of the lights are on again this is amazing to me considering the unprecedented levels of damage and devastation that we've seen entergy says work to get most lights on in the city and jefferson parish this week is on schedule but officials caution that crews can and will find damage that causes delays those areas that are impacted include neighborhoods in milneburg gentilly terrace edgewood park while much of the city has power again portions don't much has been made of problems with entergy's outage map not properly updating now there are issues with text notifications alerting people about the status of their power their text today said the restoration is complete some are hee-haw so i go rushing in the house turn on the lights and no lights i was totally excited and then it didn't happen so it's just a bit it's a big disappointment because it's just so darn hot you know it is something that we are working on it's a technical glitch that we are working to resolve and it's due to the magnitude of the damages caused by the storm you know affecting other connectivity issues danny monteverdi eyewitness news
