- Track was the one that
resonated with me the most. Growing up watching the Olympics and the girls wearing the
cute uniforms, the nails, their hair being done,
that really resonated with me and I was like, oh my goodness. Like this is so cute. They're so fast. Like they're feminine,
but they're also athletes. - What's up y'all? Sha girl?
Ari Chambers here with Team USA and I have Brittany Mason sitting next to me who's a three
time paralympic medalist and a world record holder. Can you talk to me about
why you chose Track and field over all the
other sports that you did? - Growing up watching the Olympics and the girls wearing the
cute uniforms, the nails, their hair being done,
that really resonated with me and I was like, oh my goodness. Like they're so fast. Like they're feminine,
but they're also athletes. And so that's a big reason why
I kind of got into the sport and really stuck with it. - I think you might be the
most stylish on the team. - Oh, zoom in on that one. Zoom in on that one.
That was good. That was - Good. I think that you might be
the most stylish on the - Team. I'm the most fashionable.
Ask anyone else on the team, ask anyone else. - So out of all the great
women who have stepped foot on that track, who is the one that stuck with you growing up that
you were like, I wanna be - Like her? Yes, that's easy. Shelly
Ann Frazier price. She was just so blinged out. Every time I would watch her
run, her hair was always cool. Different colors. Her
nails were always done. She was just short and powerful and you don't see a lot of,
you know, real true short, short sprinters anymore. And so I was like, oh my goodness, I could be just like her when I get - Older. Brittany, we know one of your
mottos is look good, run Good. So can you walk us through
the glitter on your face, your jewelry choice today? - You got some blue on my
nails, some rhinestones, and I had USA, I don't know
if it's still on there. It is. And then have to wear
the little jewelry pieces, the be for my initials and
obviously our cute uniform. - So
- How do you balance that power with the hyper femininity
that you explained? - I had to kind of get over
the fact of like having like that like muscular body
build of being an athlete and also being feminine. So just kind of appreciating my build and that this is something that
is gonna get me far in life. - One thing I love about Olympians and Paralympians, you all represent something greater than yourselves. My mom was actually born with one hand, and if she had the representation
that you all have now, I think that her life
would've been very different. So what message do you
have to anyone out there who wants to enter a sport? When they perceive themselves
to be at a disadvantage? - The sky's the limit. And
don't let anyone tell you that you can't do what you wanna do and you can reach your goals. I actually had no idea that
I was even eligible for para until I was 21 years old and I've been running track
for 16 years, had no idea that I would have the
success that I have today. I want more success and I've already had a
very successful journey, but I That's not stopping me. - We are not stopping cheering you on. Brittany, thank you so much
for coming through. Thank you.
