COMPANY. FIRST STUDENT WILL STRIKE WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT. THE COMPANY NEEDS TO DO THE RIGHT THING. JEFF PATALANO OF TEAMSTERS LOCAL 633 SAYS THE BALL IS IN THE BUS COMPANY'S COURT. THE UNION OF SOME 800 BUS DRIVERS AND OTHER WORKERS SAYS IT'S BEEN IN CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS WITH FIRST STUDENT SINCE THE SPRING. ONE ISSUE IS THE UNION WANTS IN ON A PENSION FUND FOR NEW ENGLAND TEAMSTERS, WHICH IT SAYS THE COMPANY HAS REFUSED TO INCLUDE IN OFFERS. CERTAINLY, THE PENSION IS A KEY PIECE OF IT, BUT THERE ARE OTHER ISSUES. YOU KNOW, THE ECONOMICS OF IT. THE NEW HAMPSHIRE BUS DRIVERS ARE UNDERPAID. SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN DERRY NASHUA AND NORTHAMPTON PLAISTOW, ROCHESTER AND SWANSEA COULD BE THE MOST IMPACTED BY THIS, BUT PICKET LINES COULD BE EXTENDED TO OTHER AREAS THAT HAVE FIRST STUDENT SCHOOL BUS YARDS. THE WINCHESTER SCHOOL DISTRICT, WHICH ALSO CONTRACTS WITH FIRST STUDENT TO GET KIDS TO AND FROM SCHOOL, SENT A LETTER TO FAMILIES. IT READS THAT TWO MORE CONTRACT SESSIONS ARE SET FOR SEPTEMBER 10TH AND 11TH. GOING ON TO SAY, QUOTE, THE FACT THAT AN AGREEMENT TO MEET IN SEPTEMBER WAS REACHED IS A POSITIVE STEP TOWARDS AVOIDING ANY DISRUPTIONS TO SERVICE, AND FIRST STUDENT FEELS GOOD ABOUT THE DIRECTION OF THE NEGOTIATIONS. WE BELIEVE BOTH FIRST STUDENT AND THE TEAMSTERS LOCAL 633 WANT TO REACH A SUCCESSFUL CONCLUSION AND CONTINUE SERVING OUR STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES. NOW, WE DID JUST RECEIVE A STATEMENT FROM FIRST STUDENT THAT SAYS IN PART, QUOTE, FOR STUDENTS. CURRENT PROPOSAL INCLUDES COMPETITIVE WAGE INCREASES, CONTINUEUED HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE, AND PARTICIPATION IN THE FULLY FUNDED TEAMSTERS SAVINGS AND INVESTMENT PLAN. WE BELIEVE THE PROPOSALS OFFER A MORE SECURE AND BENEFICIAL PATH FORWARD FOR OUR EMPLOYEES AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE COMPANY ALSO SAYS ITS T
