hey guys what's up it's te swood this is my first official voice reveal so bear in mind if I'm a bit nervous but yes in this series we'll be uncovering the mysteries of the Pacific Islands a world of unique beauty art and culture each episode will focus on a different country so without further Ado let's get into episode one number one it's kirbas kirbas is island nations spamming just about 8811 km squared it's located in the Central Pacific cing countries of the Marti lines Naru and Tonga kass's geographical position makes it very special as people from here are the first to see the sunrise every day and the first to experience New Year cubas is one of the most isolated countries in the whole world and is one of the less tribal islands in the Pacific's traditional dance called the Tha Maui is deeply rooted in its Island's culture symbolizing community storytelling and the environment dances are typically slow and graceful and emphasize hand movements imitating the flight of birds or ocean waves originating from ancient rituals these dances were used to celebrate important events ciras gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1979 although originally inhabited by Polynesians and micronesians kabas was a British colony before World War II but now it's time for the Bittersweet truth of kirbas kirbas may seem like this beautiful Tropical Paradise and it is to a certain degree you see due to climate change kass's coastlines have been rapidly Rising so much so that it has affected thousands of lives to put this into perspective this bit of water here is the actual ocean whereas this here is all flooded land that was once kirbas scientists even estimate that in the next 30 to 70 years kabas would have completely sunk under the ocean by then and will no longer exist you can even see the impact of this on kass's outline right here this is all completely flooded land this is very upsetting as the people here really strongly worship the ocean and care about it they fish from it bathe in it and ultimately owe their lives to it but now it seems possibly they will die from it yet the people of kirbas keep on smiling and try to make the most out of every day enjoying life as much as they can for as long as kabas has left [Music] hey guys it's t swall here if you enjoyed please like And subscribe so you don't miss episode two come out while we will be looking into pring New Guinea see you on the next one
