[Music] was it what you expected out there tonight yeah I mean it was awesome it is I mean dream come true everything you can can imagine it was it was it was cool was it for you to work around those two walks the first day second snowball hurry yeah um like DJ came out I wasn't really that worried about it cuz I I felt like I was making good pitches I didn't really feel like I was getting sped up DJ came out and kind of said the same thing like just around it um just keep doing doing what I do and it'll it'll come back my way so um it it was huge getting out of that first inning and and getting on with the with the game feel like you got there that first out right to you yeah that was nice um kind of just went from there everyone talks about your competitiveness do you feel like that kind of carried you through the day yeah yeah for sure especially I was getting behind a lot and uh a little bit more walks than usual but you know I kind of just just dug deep and then just got in that competitor mode and I think I think it helped with some sticky situations when did you feel you were yourself on um I mean I felt like I came out pretty good it was like just working around those two Walks Like I think after the first inning that I got out of that um it it was it felt good uh obviously there's still some stuff I need to clean up um um walked a couple guys the rest of the day but just getting behind but I think I mean it's good to get the first one out of the way and now I can start working what was the level of the nerves you felt maybe going into the game and when did that kind of go away like a normal game I think it's it's tougher leading up to the game being here um taxi Squad yesterday and then kind of sitting around for a double header that was more of the harder harder part for the nerves like this morning it was tough but you know kind of once I sat down and got the lineup and started going about my preparation the normal way it honestly I was surprisingly a more calm than I than I thought I would be you mixed all four pitches pretty evenly is that the plan and how big is it to have all four pitches in tool yeah I mean I think when I'm at my best I'm using them all um change up needs to get more in this Z but I think it'll come I'm not too worried about about that pitch um but yeah just trying to keep keep hitters off and then just mixing levels and and speed so I feel like that's when I'm at my best would you like to have gotten another inning just to get five ah I mean I'm that's not of my worries right now I was it was good to get out there and I threw a lot of pitches each inning I was I was throwing a lot of pitches so um just good to to work through some stuff what are you going to remember the most about today tonight uh uh the whole thing I mean I remember how I felt when I woke up this morning I remember um what it was like eating breakfast I remember everything it was it was it was a crazy day thank you guys days long how do you tough one to get over well well there's no that it'll be no choice we we we'll we'll get over um so um yeah R louder tonight uh did what he was prepared to do came out it was a little excited which uh that's a good thing and then settled in um exactly the way you would want him to and um yeah a great uh beginning to to his career he certainly got the stuff they talked about his presence as well did you see that yeah he's he's not phased um knows what he's doing um but he's going to continue to learn too because it's um he just got a really a great approach to um his job already you know and he just got here so um it's going to be fun having him on the team and and just watching him get better has been all stayed in and left the game any type of update on um it it's not fractur but um a very large uh hematoma so he's going to uh dayto day he may may not be able to play tomorrow probably not but um pretty good news without uh the fracture obviously was it his knee or I think it's I want to say I didn't see it but uh I want to say it's like right below his knee so more more Shin yeah lder how did you feel about the way kind of just navigating traffic with the walks the guys on base but he's for the most part he got out of those Gams yeah I mean um it was fun to watch him do just that because you know typically your first time you're just trying to survive he was trying to win you know he was out there trying to get it done and you know he was uh competing exactly the way he would want and um pitching and you know he was pitching to the situation and um it was fun to watch so he's going to um you know he's going to get another start here in a few days and just watch him progress um this month and see where we are what was the reason for the M visit luk um I just want to check on him I you know he caught today you know last thing I want to do is hurt a position player's arm um Luke says he can pitch all day he's told me that before so um you know it wasn't just to go out on the field I wasn't looking to do that it was more just to see if he was okay and we had some other guys that you know if if they absolutely had to they could they could have switched you know put luk over it first or something but he says he's fine so obviously you know you guys your players are Pros but do you have to even after a game like this and a week like this it's been pretty tough emotion keep closer tabs on uh we yeah it's a close team um we we're spent uh we spend a ton of hours here uh mostly by choice you know really I mean probably longer than than than we even should at times just cuz we like to be around each other it's a it it's really supportive and uh um you know push one another but but also you're right I mean it's kind of good to to have that environment after a game like that latter being up here now in the rotation um where are you at with his innings for the season depending on how much you might want yeah um of course first Major League season uh first professional season uh we'll keep close tabs on him um you that was tonight kind of what he was prepared to do from uh the amount of pitches and all that but as far as innings um we I think he's good to go to finish the year so um not only will that be good for his his experience this year but that'll be great going in the next season get 77 a lot of pitches in a lot of innings was it one of those that maybe if it weren't his first he goes back out for a f um we were it was pretty close to probably could have sent him out for a couple more hitters but you know the other thing too is we're we're in a situation where we don't really have the luxury of getting a reliever hot and then not using him and he was you know close to where we wanted him we could have faced a few more hitters but we also had Sam hot and ready and it was just kind of made it uh the right thing to do there do you know's pitching tomor still working through that yeah yeah it'll it'll be uh yeah like not not decided yet so y thank you [Music] [Music]
