[Music] howy that's the greetings in these parts and when you come to College Station Texas you know that the Aggies are ready to Gig them Kyle Field will be swaying and electric for this one and boy do we have a fun one ahead top 10 team Target on their back going on their Road and right into the snake pit as we'll see the number eight team in the country the Notre name Fighting Irish taking on the 24th ranked team in the land the Texas A&M Maggie for EA Sports college football I'm reys Davis joined here in the booth as always by David pet and Jesse Palmer guys let's te this one up Texas A&M about to boot it away to start this game and they desperately wanted to attempt to return but decided not to instead they'll take the Touchback so Notre Dame's offense will take the first swing of the game and not only is this guy the energy and the engine of the offense there's a certain charisma that he has that sort of elevates everyone around him he's got a Moxy about him re it just seems like when he's in the Huddle he's got 10 other sets of eyeballs looking at him and believing in him to lead this offense down the field towards scoring points this guy is a leader in every sense of the world this crowd bringing the energy and noise early dropping back it's Leonard good timing on the quick out band coverage when they get up in their face they make things hard you want to be able to attack the whole field and get them lean in One Direction and then break outside like you did there nice out route connection nice Chemistry Between quarterback and wide receiver decb Rising as the crowd Gets behind this defense on third down they'll try to power their way ahead fights his way for a couple but stops short of the marker it's fourth and one Notre Dame lining up for pun it away fair catch called for and made so Texas A&M's offense will go to work for the first time today you know yards figured be hard to come by through the air but some quarterback's Jesse just love to go with the St Corner yeah and this guy's Got Confidence he's not afraid to go at anybody but he better be careful because this quarterback is one of the best in the nation one of the best no doubt I think they will trust him on defense to make plays so you got to make a decision is my guy good enough to beat him on the outside I am fascinated by this match up let's see what they've got on second down he's looking to throw finds his man it's mohamd he's brought down quickly minimal gain there still a bit short of the first down take the profit right pitch and catch defense in zone coverage receivers got some access just spit it out to him let him catch it advance and get what he can get passing game very effective on second down what about here on third back to throw it's Wegman finds his big tie end that's the kind of play that can really get you going as they have a first down at the 43 and the agies come to the line with a fresh set of downs off the play fake on first down grabbed in in the back field it's Daniels and that will go backwards a negative play in that defense on high alert that time hey on offense you got to know when the play is over that one there nowhere to go with it after he caught the football you start trying to Juke guys you start trying to run backward this ain't high school anymore I mean you used to be able to make that play years ago you're not doing it here in Big Time college football though not good fires to the right got him downfield and there was lots of space as he gets it to the 39 yd line and that one's going to get rev howling a Happy tune Ry the 12 man all the sway the Traditions when you go to an A&M game these fans love their team and they love playmakers that make big plays down the field the aies will hustle to the line they'll throw it on first down got it in the middle it's Barber and pick up just a few on that completion and quarterback receiver on the same page nice job seeing the Zone understanding the drag route concept easy pitch easy catch now on second down he's looking to throw and that ball is picked off the sudden change on the turnover man he was looking for Running Room could couldn't find that but they'll have it at the 22 and that's just excellent coverage man cover one nowhere to throw the football look at everybody playing man across the board and you still got the safety in the middle of the field nobody open and if I'm the QB man I don't need to force it I I don't force it in a tight Windows if it's not there he throws it unfortunately gets the interception bad decision by the QB there here come the Irish back on offense that last Drive fizzled out Jesse they had to punt it yeah they did David they're just going to have to do a better job this time around erasing the mental mistakes and just trying to solve the defensive riddle understanding what they're trying to do to you and attack them well it's plays like that that will help this offense stay in Rhythm all game long if you can have that kind of success on first down running the football it just opens up your entire Playbook moving forward got six on first down now a lot of options on second and four from the gun running back on the move and a nice second effort by the back to break a tackle but how about those defensive backs willing to come up stick their face in the fan and make a tackle those are the best run defenses too right it's not just D lining and linebackers getting all the plays but it's DBS that are willing to not just cover but tackle backs in the open field to the air it's Leonard can't make the connection on third down thanks to that tough hard noosed pass defense and now it's Fourth Down and I like the aggressiveness on Third and short trying to throw the football take advantage of a look that they got they weren't successful and now it's Fourth and short territory who knows what they the Irish send out the punt unit this will be the second time they've had to kick it away not going to risk a return here he'll make the fair catch Texas A&M has it back and we say howdy to the aie offense again that last Drive was promising for a BL but you just can't mess it up at the end with the pick Jesse no You' got to be able to finish drives especially in this game if you're going to win in David they've got to be able to eliminate the metal mistake yeah and I don't think you get conservative or play it safe you can trust your guy I think you put the ball right back in his hands and let him do his thing after picking up a couple it's second and eight he's looking to throw unloads to the Wi out he makes the catch he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense how long have the agies been fishing for Jumbo plays like that one just dying for it they just want highflying offense they want fun they want excitement they had it back in the day with Johnny Manzel been searching for those big time plays that big time offense since that point going to run it it's Moss they'll pick up four second and Six coming that's a really nice play it's impressive R it's first down the defense thinks you might be running the football you still can line up you can get some movement at the point of attack and find a little crease for your running back solid pickup of four on first down it's second and six trying to make that Rush think on the draw play here really nice stop there from this senior leader and these defensive tackles just eat people they swallow human beings when you get near them they're so big so strong those guys those running backs coming they just need a mid they put one mid on a running back and he usually falls to the ground just because of their sheer mass and strength trying to move the the sticks on third down through the air complete in the middle nice pitch and catch there and they'll have enough for the first down and listen the defense knew coming into this one they were going to Target him early on he is a weapon and there's no mystery where the quarterback's going to be looking on critical down and distances let's see how they are able to cover him throughout the rest of this game the give on the inside second down they can really be aggressive after that last play it's second and three running back searching for a hole he's out of bounds but not before a picking up enough for the first down all right defense that's that's what we can't we can't give up this many chunk yards on the ground got to commit more guys to the lot of scrimmage got to get those running backs on the ground that's way too easy A&M comes back out with another first down fast motion from the offense on the ground it's Moss he bullies his way all the way down to the 5 yd line and as an offensive coordinator you don't need the perfect play with this guy as your running back he's going to make the play perfect for you because he makes everybody miss spin moves hurdles stiff arms speed whatever it takes to move the sticks and score [Applause] touchdowns that's the end it has been all defense all the time in the early going as we wrap up the first quarter and the stats certainly reflect that let's see if the offenses can find a little rhythm here in the second going to work in the Red Zone they can pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone touch pass on the Jet Sweep touchdown Aggie and they made it to the house where they found that six points waiting on him can't start a game any better than that defense gets the stop gives it back to the off defense you march down the field you score they in a great Rhythm now on both sides of the ball ling up to add another is on for the extra [Applause] point and the extra point makes it 7 nothing so it's a 77 ydd touchdown drive and the score comes on a 5yd touchdown pass the kickoff team out there getting set fielded In The End Zone it's Ford he's brought down at the 16 would have been much better off to take the Touchback third a has the ball and ready to get moving the back goes in motion tackled almost immediately they're well short of the first down this defense is going to have to be careful not only do they have to worry about this guy running the football but they've got to keep their eye on him when he runs routes to he is a versatile B picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down the give from the done they make the stop but there is a flag on the field we'll see what that's all about [Applause] hold just an obvious holding call there and one that just kills an offense's momentum wide out in motion quick touch pass to the receiver and they're able to shove him to the turf as they stop him for a game well and on these little push passes timing is so important trying to snap but right as he's getting a full head of steam he gets the ball he's hitting the outside D it puts the defense in such a difficult spot you immediately have to be rotating when you see that motion so everybody's got to communicate and kind of buff over that's why offenses love to run it just it makes the defense communicate and see if you can just get him out of the spot they get him on the ground but it's a first down if I'm building an offense in today's football it's not around a quarterback that can't run I'm going to find an athlete that I can give the ball because defensively it starts to limit your coverages it starts to limit what I can do it makes me play the quarterback every single play just makes your job as a defensive coordinate extremely hard grabbed over the middle it's Evans and the defense settled in to stop that one for a short gain look you can't take away everything right so you give them that and rally and make a solid tackle yeah and a lot of times in z coverage I like when I can get all the eyes on the quarterback I like when I can see the routes and see them develop in the middle and you could tell they had keys on the tight end he wasn't going anywhere after he caught that football pushes ahead for a couple they'll mark it at the 33 I like feeding my guy I like getting my running back touches feeding the ball so he can break some of those big runs but I'm also okay with these little ones set the tone stay balanced Here Comes his home crowd and the defense tries to get off the field on third down back to throw it's Leonard feeling some heat he looks that one in nicely and he's down at the 41 that's a first down that's tough on the defense there third down you're in zone coverage everybody's watching the quarterback and you're trying to make a break on the ball but he just got it out of his hands too quickly and the throw was too accurate really nothing you can do there and it's now a fresh set of downs Notre Dame ready to go back to work with another another first [Applause] down the RPO fire complete to the left nice completion here to this wide receiver and you're going to see this receiver line up in different spots all over the field all game long defense has got to keep their eye on where this guy is because they know he's a big part of this offensive success kept it on the ground on first down let's see what they do on second [Applause] looking for space it's price that play just never had a chance a knock him down for a loss of five great job by the defense everybody firing off the ball hitting their guys holding their gaps running for the football no a chance to sort of put the defense on its heels if you convert a third and long this one from the 44 from the gun wants to pass and they couldn't hold off the heat and he goes down with the sack and you usually don't bring in dime packages for running teams you bring in dime cuz you know they're going to throw the football got more speed on the back end to cover and defensive linemen know they have their job to do and their job is to go get that quarterback and get that sucker on the ground Notre Dame lining up the plan it away he's going to try to flip the field with this one he'll call for the fair catch here Texas A&M has it back and the offense ready to go to work David they love to do what they did last time and put this one in the end zone you ain't lying they did a great job the offense was clicking everything went well Palmer they executed and got the touchdown and they really were in a nice Rhythm as well I'd love to see that here on the next drive too just keep doing what you're doing everything seems to be working and you seem to have this defense on their heels got three on first down it's second and seven here's the handoff he's brought down but there's a flag on the field let's see what the call is hold amazing how many times an offensive holding penalty will stall a drive we'll see if the offense can overcome it quickly out to the tight end and good coverage by the defense just a short gain this is a tight end that not only is going to play with his hand in the ground but he can line up in the slot as well and attack the defense vertically he's too fast for linebackers to cover and he's too big for DBS to cover he's a real weapon in this offense this defense has kept them backed up now one more stop and they can get off the field on Third and long getting some heat and the quarterback goes down all the way back at his four yd line yeah and the defensive line you know third and long situations I'm rushing the quarterback you bringing the nickel a little bit more speed on the field and the defensive line gets home and gets the sack on third down Texas A&M will have to boot it away three and out and not much choice but to get rid of the ball sometimes avoiding disaster is the best thing the punter just gets it out of there he's got great speed really good job by the coverage team to make the Stop and that's where they'll put it in play he leaves it with his back good pick up on that play it'll bring up second and four I know the passing sells and the passing game is exciting but it's not exciting to get five or six yards a pop on the ground but it will be very successful we've reached the two-minute warning and we have ourselves a ball game and they have a chance to take the lead here before the half 6-y pick up on first down leaves him with second and four to the air it's Leonard got his man on the outside he is stopped behind the line of scrimmage d lose yards on that one you know this linebacker is a special player because not only is he good making tackles in the open field this guy can cover you saw a great example of it with that running back Indie Car tempo as they head to the line for this third down play clock running from the gun wants to pass quickly to the tight end good tackle there to stop him short of the first down and now they have to make a call you know the tight end's going to have to do a better job of separating and giving this quarterback a place to go with the football that time just couldn't create it and as a result as soon as he made the catch he was brought to the ground setting up fourth down this offense gets into plus territory they're going to go for it regardless of their field goal kicker range got his man quickly they stop him short of the marker and they'll turn it over on down first down for this offense he's looking to throw it grabbed in the middle it's screen and he almost ran away from everybody on that one a huge pick up on that play man we're seeing the tight end use more and more in the passing game you see him move from inside you see him move him outside you see him move in the Box to block people so here they put him in the slot just have a nice little pitch and catch session moving into scoring territory at the 36 on first down got it behind the line it's m and he is right out of bounds as they go backwards there and just avoided the contact brings up second down and here comes the offense on second down he's looking to throw slings it downfield all kinds of room to throw that one in there so close to that end zone he could almost taste it but it'll be first and goal for this offense well they wanted this guy catching the ball on the right side of the field they could have just lined him up over there but it didn't that time he started off on the left side he crossed the defense and made the catch on the right side of the field and he takes it to the house touchdown Aggie that was a great example of a running back toing the rock with conviction there's not a lot of time to hesitate if you see a split second you see a hole youve got to hit it right now nice job by the RB there ready to try the point after for the extra point the kick is up and good and put one more on the lead quick work on that scoring drive just four plays and they Clos the deal pushing their way inches into the end zone they got the late touchdown on the board now about to kick it away and hoping the defense can keep them from answering and he'll just take a knee and this drive will start at the 25 here come the Irish back on offense running out of time here in the first half and they do have a chance to make this a one possession game and so you got to locate your best players and get them the football on this drive you're down in the game there's obviously a lot of football left David but on this drive in this two-minute situation best players got to touch the ball and this could get into pressing mode right like you go into the half down a couple of scores it starts to the pressure really really mounts good opportunity to take some of that pressure off get some momentum energize this squad going into halftime reacted well to the tip but just couldn't squeeze the football instead of the turnover it'll be third down at the end of the second quarter that means it's time to join Kevin and our halftime update gentlemen what else is new a really rockus environment there in College Station and it's been said football is a game of inches and guess what based on the comparison between third down conversion rate today and the average yard per play how can you argue that I mean the low-lying fruit is to look at some of the explosive plays we've seen in panic but really this game is going to come down to which team is more efficient when they have the ball and how they play when it matters most with that said let's send it back to the guys at the home of the 12th man stopped at the 17 and he's probably second guessing that return Texas A&M has it back and we say howdy to the AI offense again find some space enough to get five to the 22 you see they need more runs like that it's just it's been so few and far between defensively they've been in position they've been winning their one-on-one battles getting off of blocks and rallying to the ball carrier this defense has done a nice job slowing down the Run game thus far halfway there on first down it's second and five they'll give it to the back fakes his man out getting that push they pick up for four out to the 26 and you know when we talk about great third down defense is it really starts with them getting stops on first and second now you've got to get those stops early in the drives to set up third and long so that's a missed opportunity on that second down by this defense facing a third down and short from the 26 quick release by the QB they're able to get him stopped just shy of the first down marker one of the things I love about this defense is they just have such great awareness and they're always communicating they understood the down and distance they knew exactly what they needed to do to make the tackle to force the punt that is so well done thei send out the punt team to kick it away no return coming he'll call for the fair catch not Dame has the ball and ready to get moving off play action on first down wide open downfield the and he was loose and out the gate and doesn't go down until he gets to the 48 yd line nice play there and I know when you think Notre Dame's football you're thinking about running the football and all those NFL offensive linemen they have but when you've got Playmakers like him on the perimeter you've got to be able to take advantage of him this guy has the chance to play on Sundays he's too good if you've got a window to throw and that guy's out running a route give him an opportunity and he's ridden to the ground but there's also a flag down let's check the call hold [Applause] it that penalty moves the ball back 10 yds will replay the down looking for a productive play on first down grab behind the line it's Mitchell and a good job in coverage there as they stop it after just a few this quarterback right now is in a Groove and he's doing a nice job in Priest now he's reading the coverage and he's getting an idea of where he wants to go with the football that's why the ball's coming out of his hands so quickly that's why he seems like he's in a great Rhythm right now they'll line up for a second down play looking for a man it's Leonard zings it complete to the right and he was on his way and they get him down at the 30 he's starting to get in touch with his inner Joe Montana as the Irish are moving the ball up top and I think that's always the question with the Irish every year is who's going to play quarterback we know their brain and we know who they are but are they going to get Ballers at that position are they going to get a great Ian book a great Brady Quinn that's the next step and if they find that guy Notre Dame can do everything they want to do and be great in college football getes it to the back on the draw and this one will be stopped for No Gain stopping the run is very high on every defensive coordinator's list making the team onedimensional nice job stuffing the run on that play right there Notre Dame right back to the [Applause] line off play action caught in the back field it's Thomas and just a short safe pass play they pick up a few I like the decision by the quarterback here just get the ball out of your hands get it to your playmaker a lot of times he'll dance and make even bigger plays than he did here but it was still a positive game and this offense is desperate to keep this drive alive trailing by multiple possessions and it's getting late on Third and long trying to have a big completion here got his man downfield and it is a chunk play a huge gain on that one before the defense brings it to an end well I think on that play you saw why this guy's such a big weapon in this offense that receiver he does such a nice job with his routes he's patient and he's consistent and he's got good hands you don't see him put a lot of balls on the ground nice job there picking up the first down turning to the running game on first and goal and he takes it in for the score touchdown Irish well well well somebody's been doing their box jumps you ain't lying getting up in the air Hey listen I'm taking a picture of that saving it that might be my screen saver on my phone that vertical way up in the air he'll try to tack on one more on for the extra point and after the extra point they've cut the lead in half down 14-7 so it's an 80 yd drive and they finished it off with the score from the four lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown [Applause] drive and no chance at a return here they'll start this drive at their own 25 Texas A&M has it back in the offense ready to go to work from the shotgun the inside game not much doing there he gets it to the 26 a gain of one at the 26 second down didn't get much on first down it's second and nine dropping back it's Wegman how about that play to get a hand in there and force the incompletion that's one thing about this defense they've got some dudes in the back end that can cover and they can hang with some of these intended targets nice job swatting that one [Applause] away somebody needs to make a play here it's third and long from the 26 from the gun wants to pass and the incomplete pass will bring up fourth down it's so nice when you know it's third and long you know a pass is coming you worked on it all week get your feet set at this sticks understand that quarterback's got to be rushed get him off of his spot nice execution by this defense Texas A&M will have to boot it [Applause] away excellent coverage that time didn't give him any room to set up a big return here come the Irish back on offense that last Drive really productive David wound up with the touchdown they'll try to do it again yeah so I don't expect this offense to change too much Rees they had a great Drive they got the touchdown everything working I would expect them to keep pushing this ball down here and just imagine if they could put another touchdown on the board right here they can capture so much momentum in this game with back to back TDS now they'll try to cash in this drive first and 10 from the 50 he wants to throw finds the tight end I tell you I love the play call on first down here you're just trying to find an easy completion and the shortest throw on the field for a quarterback is finding your biggest Target and that's the tight end nice job trying to get a rhythm in the passing game now on second down run the gun he leaves it with the bat they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and the defense was locked in you can tell they saw it they reacted right away got the run it back off the ground immediately better find the ear pluged here comes the noise backing this defense on third down looking downfield it's Leonard quickly complete they make the stop but not before they do their work up top and pick up a first down really nice job there by the quarterback understanding that it's Zone coverage on third down you're going to have to find someone working into a soft spot get the ball out of your hands quickly make an accurate throw and pick up the first well done time winding down in the quarters they come to the line the give out of the gun he rumbles ahead for six inside the 30 to the 28 yd line [Applause] Texas A&M has the lead at the end of the quarter they've done the work to build a nice cushion now to bring it home as we check out the stats after three quarter one more period to go to see who can make the winning plays and come home with the victory got six on first down now a lot of options on second and four they'll move the running back to try to force the defense to adjust he's got his man and the defense makes the immediate tackle but he has enough for the first down they're running the curl route against Zone coverage the quarterback knows that's going to be a tight window he's got to rifle that ball into his wide receiver he does just that and as a result they pick up the first down most important part of a clutch Drive piece together some first downs get in position and here they are on First and 10 excellent coverage and good use of the hands to knock it away way yeah and a really good job by the defender understanding the ball's coming I got to break on it and go and not try to intercept it and make a bad play he swats it down and makees sure that's an incompletion after the misfire it's second and 10 he's looking to throw and that's going to fall the ground incomplete that was a physical match up there third down coming you know it's difficult for QB sometimes you're throw into your running backs because they're not receivers you really got to be perfect with the ball placement you got to make that a catchable throw a little bit too tough for the RBI they were on the move but two straight incompletions had them staring at third and 10 quick pass to the left trying to get it to the marker and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the stop yeah the slant routes are just typical one of those that it's a timing route it's a big body route a lot of times on to my big guy who's going to catch it and get me positive yards most of the time it's a onore game late and they've got to go for it on fourth down he's got a first down and maybe a lot more and he's knocked down immediately but not before he moves the chains that's a great example of the receiver knowing exactly where the first down marker is he got the depth he needed to get so once he was able to make the catch he already knew he had it and nowesh Sh it down and guys if they can somehow someway find their way into the end zone we'll have a tie game in the fourth he steps and powers and works his way they finally get him down at the two I like this guy as a running back because he could run between the tackles and he can also go outside he can really do it all they've moved it forward to the two now it's second and goal [Applause] wide receiver shows motion try to get the edge with a quick touch pass solid fundamentals on that tackle from this [Applause] freshman if they can get it in here we could have a thrilling into this game it is third and goal he's knocked down in the back field he lose a cover man it has been a long drive offensively I just feel like you got to pay this off and be aggressive you're down close punching in for a touchdown here P yeah and inside the three yd line I think I might try to finish this off with a touchdown I ate up a ton of clock wore these guys out now they'd have to go to the length of the field if I missed back to throw it's Leonard quarterback stroll away from heat and he rolls into the house touchdown Fighting Irish what a play by the quarterback what an effort it looked like he was in a lot of trouble fourth down nobody open the pass rush is getting to him but phenomenal athleticism and you just can't coach that right he's able to get to the outside and run that in for a touchdown now they'll line up for what they hope is [Applause] automatic and the extra point was good and we are all tied up in the fourth that is what they mean when they say ball control a 14pl touchdown drive and they finish it off with a score from the four coming down the stretch in the fourth and we are all tied up about set to kick it away and it'll be a Touchback the ball will come out to the 25 yard line Texas A&M has it back and we say howdy to the aie offense again he wastes no time and comes out throwing and it's incomplete if you're going to take a hit like that you might as well hang on to the ball [Applause] after they couldn't connect it's second and 10 running back goes in motion he's back to throw on second down caught behind the line it's Moss they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down listen running backs are not just running backs anymore you're going to be a wide receiver in today's football and a great job sneaking out of the back field getting him the football letting them get some positive yards this could be the biggest play of the game so far third down and two they'll stick to the ground looking for the marker love to see these third down conversions on offense and they're out to their own 39 yd line well the defense knew coming into this one it was going to be a physical game guys are going to have to be great at the point of attack and get off blocks and make tackles it couldn't stop the offense from picking up that first down on that run play finally some signs of life from this offense which has done nothing in the second half it's first and 10 they can rely on this guy to pick up solid yardage when they need it and he's out to the 43 listen that wasn't the greatest run in the world but it was very successful and you're making me honor the run and another thing every time you run the football someone gets tackled there's physicality involved in the game so I like when offenses commit to the running the football no matter what the outcome is because those body blow he almost picked up the first down on that one but he'll be just a little bit short it's definitely the wide receiver's job to create space right so whether you're running a go or you're running a hitch like this right here I got to find a way to push off legally or just create a little bit of space to get some positive yards on Third and short the power run here he's got enough to move the chains and they'll spot it at the 47 you know you start day one of trading can't run your base runs you need a few yards you run these plays you need a first down you run these plays you rep them over and over and over again they're not sexy they're not pretty but in the end they're effective and they get you that new set of downs when you need them makes the grab it's mohamd and the defense had that one well covered just a short game there the clock stopped 2 minutes left to play in this one it's hard to have success on wide receiver screens when you're facing press man coverage because your blockers out front often times can't pick them up and that receiver gets gobbled up as soon as he catches the pass you saw it on that last play and the pressure will get there the sack down he goes in the waiting moments that could be a costly play just a great job defensively making him go through his progressions and he really didn't have time to do it and that's exactly what you do in zone coverage you dropping your spe spots you read the quarterback's eyes make sure you take away that quick stuff and a great job rushing the passer and getting the sack trying to get to it just had to get rid of that one to save the yardage on third down well they're trailing in this game late the defense knows it so they're playing for pass two plays ago they get the sack this time they force an in completion not a lot the offense can do here to catch him off guard they're just going to have to make a huge play here on fourth down thei send out the punt team to kick it away and that is an excellent punt as it lands out of bounds inside the 10yd line M Dame has the ball in ready to get moving they'll crank up this drive with the pass caught on the outside it's Mitchell and he'll make his way out of bounds after the solid pickup it's hard to run a route get lost the sidelines and understand exactly where you're at nice job understanding I'm starting to get close to the sidelines throttling down a little bit catching the football and making sure I was in boundage dropping back it's Leonard finds his Target down the middle good job running that route to get past the sticks because he got nothing after the catch really nice job by the quarterback understanding I needed to throw this ball hard like I got to fit in there tight and a nice job by the wide receiver wearing it cuz he really didn't have a choice cuz he was going to wear that one regardless lot of yardage in front of them first and 10 from their own 19 he's going to pass they're trying to get to it hit hard as he released the ball on that first down pass and it never had a chance well I know it hasn't been a tremendous day statistically for this quarterback but his decision making has been good enough to win this game hasn't thrown a lot of TD so far but when things aren't open he throws it away like on that play right there he's not putting his team in a bad spot and that's why they still have a shot to walk out of here with the w he's got an open man we' got a Timeout on the field and we are set up for a terrific finish Notre Dame coming to the line with another first down Notre looking to move it through the air they're bringing heat and he can't get get it off taken down what a huge play this late in the game not much time left but the offense has a shot to end this one in regulation wants to throw on second down it's caught downfield that defense got gashed but they finally get him to the turf at the 47 using him out of the slot he has just been Unstoppable and I love putting Dynamic athletes in the slot that I can move around that I can put in motion that I can I can make him go in or out I can put him off the ball so you can't get hands on him and they've really featured this guy today wants to throw on first down works the middle the offense will use a timeout with 25 seconds left I'll tell you what that's great execution between the QB and receiver they look like they could execute that throw in their sleep quarterback took his steps threw it on time great route by the receiver nice job securing the [Applause] catch takes a hand off it's Lo he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple when you play defensive end it's all about getting off the football you can tell gets off the football really fast Gets In The Back Field gets the running back before he knows what hit him what a play by the defensive end here comes the offense on second down double time hustling to the line to stop the clock well guys let's play some more head into overtime and this just feels right both of these teams going back and forth so of course David this thing needs to get decided in OT let's see who's better short amount of time to do it a couple possessions probably maybe one possession each who's the better team all right guys so here we go in overtime and just to refresh everyone's memory alternating possession starting on the opponent's 25 and you want to play defense first because you want to know what you need that's a key philosophical approach for most teams when it comes to overtime David yeah and remember the rule change a couple years ago too in in the second overtime and two-point conversion so all this stuff is situational type football that you better have worked on throughout these weeks of the Season they'll snap it from the 25 here on first down he's looking to throw it pck a shot toward the end zone if he houses this it's ball game takes it the other way he'll go out of bounds but he gets the ball back takes it the other way and he has created a great Sudden Change opportunity first down in this defense is desperate any kind of score and it's over used the play fake now to throw the short hands it's green brought down to the ground but he has enough for the first first down and a first down Texas A&M will snap it in the Red Zone leaves it with the running [Applause] back oh he dropped it defense just cradling that fumble and securing it here in the second overtime they'll snap it on first down motion by the back forces the defense to adjust hit hard just as he released it on first down and just couldn't get it to the receiver they'll try again on second down after the incompletion they'll run it from the gun Oh What A Move fights off a Defender and he goes out of bounds after a nice pick up on that one he runs out of Bounds at the 16 yd line [Applause] on Third and short they'll try to pick it up with the pass a quick tackle made but he's got ready for the first down first and the agies come to the line with a new set of downs they'll see if they can find some Running Room on the right here and he's knocked down but there's also laundry on the field we'll see what the officials have called we'll repeat the previous down but this time the offense has 10 more yards it has to cover wants to throw it's Wegman gets it out quickly and they make the Stop and this offense has it inside the five and they are threatening on the bring up second down going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down he'll take it himself couldn't quite nudg it in not sure you can get much closer but it'll be first and goal this thing has been back and forth now first and goal as they try to take the lead in overtime number two wide receiver now comes in motion a first down run on the doorstep touchdown Aggie that score gives him the lead here in the second in overtime number wow this offense they have a lot of faith in this running back knowing if they get down into this area of the field he can get it done and he can answer the Bell two rushing touchdowns already for this offense now on the second overtime you must go for the two-point conversion quick pass on the Fly motion they got it executed beautifully and the lead is eight and double overtime now on first down they need to answer with a touchdown scanning the field it's Leonard and the physical play there forces the incompletion on first down second [Applause] down now second and [Applause] 10 he's looking to throw that pass is incomplete and they're probably fortunate that it wasn't knock free for a fumble third down and overtime they have to keep the drive alive and try to get it in the house on Third and long he's going to have to throw for it a strike downfield he is down at the one a terrific run at the throw and catch first and goal first and goal down a touchdown they have to get it in the end zone on the ground touchdown Notre D they got one score they needed now they need the deuce to send us to Triple O te car man what a great response by this offense going down the field scoring the touchdown now I got to go for two I know the new overtime rules they changed this years ago Jesse you should work on this in practice what's your go-to two-point play right here I'll tell you after running the ball as well as they did on that last touchdown I could see them doing it again I think they've got confidence in the Big Fellas up front to get it done find a way into the end zone and be more physical they need this two-point conversion to to send us to Triple [Applause] overtime it's complete on the right side he's into the end zone two-point conversion is good and we've got a tie game so here we go dueling two-point conversions from this point [Applause] forward power ahead there's stopped on the two-point try and we are still tied they broke serve now a chance to win it with a two-point conversion trying to barge their way in they can't get it in neither team can get the two and we'll play another over time so here we here we go again and we'll see just how deep that two-point conversion bag really is moving the running back forcing the defense to adjust to the air it's Wegman they got it done a great play call to give them the lead by two so now they'll need to answer to keep this game alive motion from the offense barges ahead they are denied the two-point try is stopped and a game winning play by this defense in
