we were all0 and five we were one and six and now we're going Adelaide and the only argument in my house now is will my firstborn son be somehow called The Wizard or culure what a football club this is let's talk about it nothing about this is scripted ready I have no other laptop on I have nothing else this is the game finished 25 minutes ago I had my last can about an hour and a half ago maybe an hour ago um so this is inscripted written it's probably going to be unhinged in Parts but wow seems to be the word that's coming to mind so much uh and the one that just keeps coming back to me and I think it's coming back to a lot of Hawthorne supporters because how the hell did this happen and the answer to that is long feverish and complicated but all in all on the night without even going down a retrospective path it came about with kicking the rust and going back to your identity manic pressure around the ball forward momentum but the finals lift on the the finals raising of expectations was non-existent really and that was what was so amazing 12 scoring shots and seven goals five from two firste players is simply extraordinary and I'll go through the list one by one for this game I will absolutely but the Sam Mitchell is a genius absolutely he is Coach of the Year coach of the a decade as far as I'm concerned um yeah words aren't a struggle it's the articulation of the Supreme Pride satisfaction spite in some cases you know whether it was those in the media or even social media that were uh thinking of things like hawthor needing priority picks after being 0 and5 and and the the ridicule that had gone through the club and a post alist Clarkson era so there's a bit of that in there that's bubbling to the surface and that afor mentioned whale and the afor mentioned Pride are just rolling over each other that accumulated in a 2hour performance that was wasteful at times that was messy in big periods that had senior players play not very well and a game where you could see a lot of improvement on the horizon that equated to a six goal win against a good opponent and by the way Bulldogs fans I'm sorry that this isn't uh about you at all and you might be happy about that potentially I don't know if you're watching this putting yourself through this torture as well as the game um I will say this though that I have a suspicion I have a feeling that Luke beverage is going to get a lot of heat for this because he gets a lot of heat for all of the Bulldogs losses some rightly so some not rightly so and you think to yourself well what levers can he pull um I don't reckon one of them was the all Australian captain in the supposed Golden Boy of leaders in this competition having nine disposals in the first three quarters so all I'm saying is can we shift some of the responsibility to the onfield leaders instead of the off field one and let's go back to the Hawks cuz yeah I'm going to talk about all of them that I can remember off the top of my head and do it in jump and number order so Harry Morrison as the Winger that played boundary side did his job wasn't spectacular was nowhere near bad he was fine John yukim had more disposals in the third quarter then the bont did in the first three quarters and sure his last quarter maybe wasn't perfect the prick had 30 the prince of pu Wong himself had 30 at at 3/4 time and tore the living piss out of a Midfield that had bondon P first time all Australian Adam tror and had one of the most underrated midfielders of the last four years Tom Liberatore and he was the best midfielder on the ground and there is now no argument you can make NADA zero none as to why he isn't an a-grade midfielder and that's not just from me sitting here on my high horse I didn't have J as an ARR mid going into the year I didn't have J as an a grade mid at the buy section of the year yeah make your reputation in finals and I don't think any one person's reputation this final Series so far that includes the port jalong game has been enhanced more than Joan yukim has simply extraordinary the leadership and the solidarity of the Hawthorne back seven even was exemplary and J imp was a massive reason for that a massive reason for that his ability to play tall to play small to play on ball off ball culminating into a very very underrated well-rounded Defender was on show again and was fantastic James warpo played the perfect Robin roll to join Yuk's Batman and his ability to get that extra second and make the right decision was extraordinary should have kicked the goal late Jimmy but if that's the only thing that I'm turning around going oh come on Jimmy no complaints legitimately none James Sicily the perfect interceptors game and when you're considering you've got frost wed scrimshaw that had to play on the three pronged monster of the Bulldogs tall forwards if any of them got out of hand which they didn't and don't want we'll get to those three as we go through Sis's ability to play as what he is the intercepting King was extraordinary his first half was unbelievable double digit marks Did as he pleased took the piss samam Frost who could lose his spot in this side in round one 2025 with battle and Baris coming which is extraordinary given the way that he's not only played this year but that he played on the night he back should to work was extraordinary maybe don't kick the ball into the corridor Frosty but again if that's the complaint I've got he's done his job and some the it blows my mind the fact that when Jimmy blank went down Hawthorne fans rightly so at the time went oh Frosty okay and then it went Frosty okay let's do this and no one I think has ridden the wave of the hawk ball love than Frosty to be honest I think he's encapsulated that in the back six more than anyone KL Amon who went back with the Flight of the ball on two or three occasions against the talls of the dogs and hared contests was better than anything he did with ball in hand and that's saying something considering how good of a kick he is Conor Nash played as the second Ruckman to quite some good effect around the ground I do do not think he did any one thing that was extraordinary but the sum of the parts that he was able to put together I think he was the most underrated Hawk on the night honestly everything he did turned to Gold it may not have looked flashy a handball out of a pack a block a Shepherd a tackle he did it all and he did it all beautifully Dylan Moore is another all Australian who didn't perform and somehow that's okay made up for it wasn't his night at all and I love Diller no one loves him more pun very much intended then I do wasn't his night the Hawks have got another chance I have no doubt that he'll have 20 in Kick one or two against the power so All Is Forgiven as they say in a win but he wasn't fantastic Jack scrimshaw is a certified freak this was a guy that was drafted to the Gold Coast Suns as a rebounding Defender who came to the haw as a rebounding Defender who gave Jamara yugul Hagen before and after his knock on the shoulder a bath as in when the Hawks were celebrating good have genuinely pulled some sponges out of his pocket and just wiped him down unbelievable his hands extraordinary yes he made some uncharacteristic Errors By foot granted but considering that the way the dogs were going to win the game was their ability to impact in the air in their forward half was neutralized by bloke who's 193 cm tall I am not here for complaints Blake Hardwick I genuinely forgot Cody waitman was playing in this game and dimmer had over 20 touches and I think took 12 marks too need I say more the man is a superstar and yet another underrated Jam I thinks finished in the best and fairest runner up twice if that's even a coherent sentence m Mo deam brosio had 30 walks gave up two picks in the 60s for him thanks enden yay um composure is the word that just comes to mind with mass when he gets the ball in hand you feel safe as a Hawthorne fan which considering the amount of good ball users the Hawks have had and have now sure we've been spoiled absolutely we have but add him to the list list and holy [ __ ] to be honest Lloyd Meek beat Tim English who by the way has fall off this year needs to be studied I reckon cuz what has happened to Tim English well getting panted by Lloyd me in a final is what happened to Tim English because the block that led to his goal was nonsense but if I'm being honest the Hawks did get the rubber the Green from the whistleblowers from that moment onwards wasn't the reason we won but as offhandedly as we could complain about that decision don't think we should be doing a lot of complaining moving forwards is all I will say but Lloyd you're outstanding my friend and a really good set shot goal in that first quarter as well it was the biggest teasing almost day for marbie orall who took three marks of the year if any of them had have stuck uh he took too much time in deciding to snap a goal and ended up missing it which was unfortunate but I thought his field kicking was relatively good and he always looks like he's going slower than the game is but it worked to our advantage wasn't his day we'll be hoping for a better performance next week I didn't think he was weak at all Rory lob did take I think six interet marks which was awesome for Rory and he did play well but I don't think MBS was embarrassed by any sense Jack Gunston made Liam Jones a non-factor did the same thing to Sam Taylor uh did the same thing the next week against the opponent that I'm now forgetting and made them look useless um I'll put the team down here probably can't why can't I remember who it is Carlton a weering did it to weering my goodness there you go and did it to Liam Jones a really good snap around the corner and there was a period of that third quarter where the doggies were coming hard hard and the ball just got kicked to the wing Gunners only had Jones by a step and a half but the vice likee hands in that contest was extraordinary extraordinary Luke Bruce coming on as the sub and he did a couple of things really really well I wish he had to kick the goal hit it a bit skinny his first contest is the sub though ball was kicked into the corridor and he haved a 4 on-one contest in the corridor plays game 300 next week Punky we just have to win it for him and take on a New South Wales team in a prelim surely Joshy wed he had a very good game back shoulder wise against Norton and Darcy didn't have to do a whole lot offensively that's okay I thought he still gets a big tick in my opinion Josh Ward should never kick on his right foot again and as the guy coming in I think I could understand Big Time him being the worry the big worry he held his own he really did did he make some mistakes yes I think he did some things though that were extraordinarily good his kicks from Center to the forward so being that connection piece a couple of them especially especially to Nukem uh which would have set up an extraordinary second goal for Joy was exemplary so I think Josh Ward gets a tick tonight I really really do I thought he was awesome Conor McDonald was perfect as a half forward can't get much better than that couple of guys 20 odd disposals did everything you would want to do the doveton flyer took his chances and looked really composed had some more Center bounces which I enjoyed in this game as well Finn mcginness he was quiet kicked the sealer but what he did afterwards was as important where went back with the flood of the ball and half the 50/50 contest the game was done and the fact that he still went back and did that show a hunger within that bottom four six players that they know their spot is up for grabs and he didn't want to let it go and it would have made the 37 point margin probably 31 doesn't make a difference there's no percentage in finals but there was extra percentage in the effort and that was extraordinary Jack ginan's second quarter was amazing genuinely amazing as he took the center forward role personally loved the cracking of beer celebration because get absolutely stuffed anyone who thinks him going to the pub the day before getting home by 9:00 is a problem seriously up yours and thanks Collingwood equivalent of pick 33 for him gone beautifully and that second round pick that we gave to you is only getting worse and worse for you so massively appreciate that as we do with Mario Mamon Osio and look all of the guys I know Kyle Amon was a free agent as well pajama any we got from Port that didn't hurt us and even if you think in the Chad Wingard trade hurt us it really didn't Hawthorne have not really got a trade wrong for a while a while a trade not a free agent acquisition keep that in mind so from there the wizard kicked four career high anyone anyone with an ounce of patience told you the wizard was coming and then he kicked the sealer against the Dockers and it was all building up to a performance like this took his chances tried to get a bit of extra distance with his one set shot but his other three were spot on and it was it's a joy to watch this guy play and believe it or not my favorite thing he did all day was the run down on Bailey Dale the second best thing that he did was the rundown on Jack McCrae in the last quarter the kick still got away in fact I think it might have been biley Dale again where they still got the kick away but it was off the side of the boot the Hawks rebounded in that third quarter and everything was okay and then we get to Kia oh Kia what a man he is three goals four and genuinely could have kicked six and we are watching the birth of one of the better footy stories because of what's happened with his dad the fact that even when he was drafted recruiters went well he's too raw to play anyway the fact that athor fans were thinking let's just give him a chance when he deboed huh there's something here there's something here there's a there's an animal competitor in here and then that goal from the boundary line it was Unreal it was unbelievable so was this performance the Hawks hunted the ball contested possession was up lost clearance convincingly in the first half didn't stop us Sicily amazing nem amazing everyone amazing really and then what from here Port Adelaide crumbled against the cats and I don't think there should be any kind of false overoptimism going into that game I really don't but they look getable p through adelade oval doesn't hold any fears for us at all did what we did against the crows should have beaten the pies there earlier in the year should have beaten Port earlier in the year the ground means nothing to us and and if Port are going to let their opponents inside 50 as much space as they gave jalong imagine what Dylan Mo's going to be able to do imagine what Jack gan's going to do imagine what Nick Watson's going to be able to do imagine what Conor McDonald's going to be able to do just imagine what these Hawks could be able to do moving forward so there are my initial thoughts comment below let me know like the video if you like the video subscribe if you haven't already cuz why the hell wouldn't you look after yourselves you absolute Legends and we are a happy Tam of haor
