I'm honored and pleasured to have an Arsenal legend in the building David Seaman ladies and gentlemen Mr Dean can you hear me no way it was larger than life in every way and he was a hero not just with the fans but with the players as well they all loved him he was that good that in training Steve Steve bald and Tony Adams that he would embarrass them and they would try and kick him yeah to to slow him down a bit and they couldn't catch him the ponytail on the head was for attach I remember seeing an Arsenal team celebrating getting four yeah and I was like Dro quite a little way here you know we've done what we did it's their time to go and create their own [Applause] history I'm here with my boy Turkish Arsenal won Brighton won a somewhat controversial game uh let's get to it the sending off what's your take on that the game's gone soft I mean people will tell me it's the rules that's what they were saying in the chat and so on but the the rules are the problem you know and Common Sense must Prevail in situations like this and I've just watched Mel's interview and he talks about not necessarily being um opposed to to the yellow card but he questions the consistency of it and when you see Pedro in the first half amongst other little you know moments when it was nil nil there was time wasting there was balls kicked away from the Brighton players and and nothing to come from the referee in that moment when you actually look at it overall I don't think deam rise you know intended to be kicking the ball away he was walking away from the incident it hits his heel and naturally if you've played football if you're on the pitch and the ball just hits your heel naturally you just tap it again that's just the Natural Instinct it's not you know far more often than not you tap the ball you you don't just leave it and I just feel like the the ref in my opinion should have gone V because Listen by rules it's a yellow card for rice but what about what veltman did because velman wasn't trying to take a quick free kick you know gamesmanship and all that I get it dark CS is fine but he kicked him that was the intention behind what he was doing he kicked through deam rice so surely that's a card in itself but really if you look at it you know the referee could have calmed the incident down you know and not giv anything but instead he makes a decision that really truly does have an effect on the game now I don't think it goes the whole way to decide the game because we've come back into it we've done well and we'll move on to other key moments but all in all I mean already game week three um we're talking about the referees again it's not the first time won't be the last time and like Mel said there won't be an explanation for it so what can we do um it's yeah we got back into the game and I'm going to try focus more on what we could have done and should have done even with 10 men than I am going to on the referee decision because I still think we should have won the game okay so just to unpick that then so if I'm reading this right you're not saying that the referee's necessarily wrong you're what you're saying is that there should be more consistency I'm presuming you're talking about the incident where Pedro appears to have kicked the ball away a few minutes before that incident yeah I I also see Mike Dean talk about it mention the rules stop mentioning the rules to me cuz the rules are the problem you know kicking the he hardly kicked the ball away it went maybe two yards to the right one when you look at the actual there was no intention to take the quick free Kick the intention was to cause a problem from veltman and he caused a problem and he won out of that situation the referee gave him the win because of the dark arts and really kicked through our player and just got away with it yeah well yeah you're right but what I was going to say is and this is an important distinction so it's not necessarily kicking the ball away per se it's in the start the restart I think that's what he gets the yellow card for but you can't be accused of delaying something that was never going veltman wasn't intending on taking a quick free kick the ball was still moving rice was still in front of it are you telling me rice didn't kick the ball vman throws it kicks it hits the back of rice as he's walking away that would be the same sort of incident no he's delayed it he hasn't moved out of the way quick enough we all know what velman was trying to do and if V actually looked at it and spoke to the ref they would know surely they would know what he was trying to do but maybe they didn't maybe they did cuz a lot of them are are stupid in anyway you know and is the rest is history we went down to 10 men and we conceded but like I said there's other moments in that game where in my opinion we should have won it we shouldn't even conceded just finally on that incident before we move on to other things do you think Dean rice was slightly naive in so far as let's face it he's an experienced Premier League player there was a bit of dark Hearts byma do you think he should have been wiser to it though it wasn't a yellow car it wasn't a yow card you know he didn't kick the ball away he tapped it to the side because it's hit his heel so for me there's no I can't question whether he's been naive people will say that and go by the rules again but people will ignore because it's Arsenal now people will ignore that the rules are the problem you know people saying this is saying this is a yellow card and this you know results in a red card is part of what's killing the game do you want the referees to improve or not do you want the you know accountability in this league or not because it seems to only be when it's for your own club as soon as it's a club that you don't like or you want to laugh at it's OHA who cares what it is it's the rules it's the rules that sort of justifies what they're doing with the rules so do you like it or don't you like it because generally as a football fan whoever you support you would all be upset with your player getting a red card for that there's kicking the ball away and there's tapping it a yard away they're very different things and I can't lie a red card for that was a joke okay we've spoken about that then so moving on so as we know the game was one or I think it's fair to say in the first half I were a better team uh we got the goal we were looking fairly good started off the second half orbe it up until the in was only a few minutes into the second half um obviously the game changed on that moment but in terms of how the game went after were you happy with the way Arsenal played I mean would you consider this two points dropped or even a point gained where where's your take on that two points dropped without a shadow of a doubt we were sloppy at times I think we started the game well yeah it Aston Villa grew into it and that's kind of a common theme bright Bri I'm sorry Brighton grew into it and and that's kind of a common theme because that the same happened against Villa um where we dominate from the get goal 20 25 minutes in we haven't capitalized because we did have chances sacka had a couple lacked conviction older guard had one lacked conviction that word conviction is going to come up a few times and and I hope that sturing solves that because conviction was part of the problem today if we go one two up when we're dominating in the first half then you know in hindsight you see we considered one going down to 10 men we still pretty much go on to win that game but we don't take advantage of the domination we have in in the majority of games well so far this season in terms of scoring when we're on top and it goes back to conviction that's you know and second half as well with 10 men we had chances we had chances havs went oneon-one listen H's done amazing to get into that one-on-one position but that doesn't mean because he done amazing to get into it that I'm going to let him off for missing it it doesn't work like that you your highest paid player one of you're our number nine you've been trusted and to be honest with you the money we spent on you and the wages were given you must be some way culpable in in why we made a profit this summer because we went all in the summer before so I'm expecting a better rice I'm expecting the better havs I'm expecting Timber to come on and improve this side the signings from last season because this summer wasn't enough and havs missed that chance now saaka follows up and conviction in a different way go down the the players slided in he's tapped you to the point where he's gone like this and you've tried to stay up and the the opportunity you know goes by a bit of conviction there you know a bit of the dark Hearts ourselves he's tapped you go down because these referees are more likely to give it saaka then has a chance himself when havitz does well to get the ball in great ball from havitz he was our outlet for that 5 10 minute period but that chance again great ball into the box sacka stretching I think he should have done better it was too easy a save so we had two guiled opportunities two equally good opportunities as we had in the first half with 11 men but what was the difference no difference the lack of conviction means it stays one1 and let's talk about the conviction in defense because Gabrielle is annoying me Lori I I I've respected and rated his rise in the last few years because there was doubts initially but in the first three games of the Season he's made two mistakes one should have cost us against Aston Villa it didn't he got away with that today come on we know you as the man of the defense we know you as the bully in that defense M had you what one little shift to the left and and you're out of it very poor defending and that's on him that's two games out of three starting this season that he has put us in a position that could cost us now when you look at the end of the season and the fine margins are two points or three goals these moments will matter come the end and with Calif Fury in that he better look over his shoulder because one more mistake like that Calif Fury comes in because we can't afford these mistakes it's all about fine margins remember it's all about Riya improves ramale by 7% because he's good at this good at that and those fine margins will win us the league right well the fine margins are are very relevant here as well so Gabrielle needs to stop that because it seems that every season he starts with a mistake or two in him and last season you know we can look at certain games against Fulham or West Ham or Aston Villa as reasons why we didn't win the League this season if we don't there's already one here because we had the opportunities we had a one-on-one we had a chance in the six Yard Box they shouldn't have scored in fact the goal they should have scored is the one Rya made a great save from and even the goal they scored Ryan made a great save so Riya again fre games in great performance can't F I was going to say are any Arsenal players that you'd like to commend I mean when you consider that Brighton had 22 opportunities on goal today to our 11 then that will suggest to you that we had to do a lot of Defending especially late on in that second half so would you say Rya Was Your Man of the match yeah yeah because essentially he kept that one1 in the end I think sacka started the game saca's first 10 minutes was the best first 10 minutes I've seen from sacka in a long time taking his defender on going inside out we saw a little skill from him in the Box as well where he probably should have shot he tried to cut it back I think sacka started the game well but faded um but he was the best of our attack so I look at the Midfield I don't think the Midfield oard had the poor game hopefully he's all right cuz he had a kick in the first half and it looked like that affected him part wasn't great de so far this season it looks like you know the euros and all that has taken his toll because he's not quite the same player we saw last season which is fair I guess and the attack don't yeah no one comes close to man of the match for us aside aside from R I've got to ask you quickly because time's running um we said before the game that Trad would likely get a start today he got his start what did you make of his performance today poor and that's the general theme with Trad he he comes off the bench he's great he starts games he can he can go missing that's why P him the best 12 man no disrespect there whatsoever you know some of our some of our 12 men during 0304 01 02 97 98 they're some of the greatest players this club has seen so you know you can do your part as a 12th man as a 13th man very important role especially in this modern day football with systems and work rate intensity he can play his part for sure get 10 12 goals but starting we've got to know of Martinelli's the guy that's why I wanted the left Winger or a striker today and um this summer okay Turkish thank you very much okay
