uh yeah I'm get ready right now um I guess I can't say no I mean I don't know if it's just disappointment or amazement and she was like yes we were talking about people we don't like scripts right no no you don't understand the pitch was terrible it's a story about hardships these group of kids they want a better life but they don't have the money that's where the conflict comes in every stereotype you can think of it was almost funny but she thought it was real and uh the characters the lead is W he's an Hispanic broke high school student obviously can't afford the living that he want of course she picked me I'm I'm the only Hispanic person in sight I don't think of it is disrespectful I simply just want a genuine story and your experience would be great and that's you it wasn't even my story to tell I liveed comfortably in the suburbs but I thought how hard could it be I mean if I made this one just terrible maybe she wouldn't ask me again I I should have just said what all the other white people said whenever they heard the idea no but I didn't say no to begin with and I gave her what I thought she wanted stay with me fo stay with me fo Mak yo bro what's your name uh hey you read this yeah I wrote it sorry I am I don't speak B man you really are coconut you know that man you wrote this right yeah yeah I did listen bro you know how hard it is for us to get rolls you go you go out and you do this what do you want me to do it was an opportunity for me like this lady just came up to me hey I've been trying to spread new ideas so you're going to take anything given to you why why would you do that man you're going to give up our dignity us as a people you're going to give it up just to make a few extra bucks why I'd much rather have you work in a Burger King than do that I I I just it's been for it's been so long since I've gotten something like this and I I I needed it I you know what those people have thought of us for the past 60 years they think we're cool driving he walking taking out your garbage Mexicans I'm not that he's not that I'm pretty sure your mom ain't like that either but no every time somebody comes around with a little bit of change you'll give up any form of dignity that our people had left I guess we did make it out of the J though cuz a few weeks later got a call from her what happened let's see this let's see this we've been invited to the film festival of Arkansas we won the big prize best actor fting almost all of my favorite but I still really like I don't even know how we got best costumes we literally just went to our wel of goodwi uh yeah right now I'm on my way to pick up my Awards a little trophy I don't even want to go to be honest [Music] here looks like we ran into each other yeah we did I can't wait mhm you know we've been working together for months now but you don't talk much yeah yeah it's f why don't you
