Owner of the New York Jets Woody Johnson brushed
aside claims that Aaron Rodgers ever considered giving up football to serve as Robert F. Kennedy
Jr. 's running mate, a skeptic of vaccines. Supporter of Donald Trump, Johnson stated
that his quarterback is totally committed to returning to the field following his rupture
of his Achilles last season, which ended after just four minutes of his Jets debut.
However, Johnson, 76, may have gone too far for his quarterback when he rejected
the vice-presidential connections and likened them to Aaron Rodgers' retreat
into darkness from the previous season. "He is fully returning to football," Johnson said
to FOX News. Football never left him. That (the running buddy theory) was just a passing
diversion; it could have been similar to entering a dark room or anything. But he's fully
recovered. Great leader. "You count to ten, hold your hands up, and look around—the ball
will be there," I tell the receivers. It should be an interesting start to the season if we
can keep him upright, which I believe we can. Following the Green Bay Packers'
failure to advance to the NFL Playoffs, Rodgers went on a somber retreat during
the offseason of the previous year, considering retirement. After four days,
Rodgers surfaced and chose to continue playing, sealing his trade to New York while praising
the significance of the nocturnal retreat. On the third and fourth days, I witnessed
my complete self at the conclusion of the journey on one side, and on the other,
I witnessed my complete self. Nothing was missing for me,' stated Rodgers.
However, Rodgers suffered an Achilles tear minutes into the game when he was tackled
by Buffalo Bills player Leonard Floyd, capping a summer of intense excitement in the Big Apple.
Despite all of his attempts to recover if the Jets advanced to the postseason, his left foot became
lodged in the turf, causing his Achilles to snap, and his season came to an abrupt end.
Like RFK Jr., Rodgers is outspoken about his decision to forgo the
Covid-19 vaccine and is anti-vax. The New York Times reported last month
that Rodgers was being considered to be Kennedy's running mate while he was
in Costa Rica for an ayahuasca retreat. According to the story, RFK Jr. and Aaron Rodgers
had been discussing the Jets star's role as his running companion "pretty continuously," and
the NFL player "welcomed" the conversations. Johnson, on the other hand, was US
Ambassador to Great Britain under Trump.
