Xander Bogarts and Alex said this on the air yesterday he goes can I just be honest about it he put it out on social media he goes can I just be honest and we're like yeah go ahead Xander Bogart stinks like we all watched Juan sto every day and by the time Juan sto was gone we were like you know what that's fine it's it's not it's not really look it's a lot of home runs and it's a lot of RBI we got Jacko yeah right we got Json Pro far and left now um shut in in April Xander Bogart just to give you an idea of how bad he's been look at this batting a 143 batting average one home run what is this three rbi's eight strikeouts so you know what the fans want to do that's an Ops by the way that's not an on based that's an Ops yeah that's terrible dude you know what the fans he was balling when I left what happened is he hurt you left you left him yeah I left my dog hanging so here's what the Padre fans want to do and I commend the Padre fans for wanting to try and help but this is embarrassing at least in my opinion the Padre fans um tomorrow night Friday night they want to have a standing ovation for Xander Bogarts as a like hey Xander we love you we're with you we realize it's been a struggle but we want you to know that you're a fan favorite and let's let's all maybe this will basically want to replicate what Philly they exactly said it they want to replicate what Philly did for Trey Turner last year right when Trey Turner was struggling when he was asked when he was terrible when he wasn't living up to his contract out of nowhere Philly fans just gave him a random ass Standing Ovation and from that point forward I believe but it wasn't in April he turned it around and he had a good rest of the season right but the thing is is that Philly fans are known for being a-holes like Philly fans reputation is they booed Mike Schmidt they boo Santa Claus right they like Michael Irving gets hurt in a game they cheer for that I mean Philly fans are known for being a an a-hole fan base Padre fans aren't so so it's not like Padre fans are out there booing Xander Bogarts I'll throw it to you guys what do you think about I applaud the Padre fans for wanting to try to help help Xander Bogarts break out of it but I think uh I don't I don't particularly love it what do you think uh listen he's not trying to get hits let me start by saying that uh I'm all for it listen you got to protect your investment and if we think cheering for this man will help him play better then hell give him a steady Ovation every time the game starts as far as I'm concerned that'll guarantee you a hit what if it doesn't help you know then it's time to move him down baby time to move him down can we also have an honest conversation about Xander Bogarts here for a second this guy played in Boston for a long time this guy is a two time two two-time World Series champion if you think our Standing Ovation is going to snap him out of whatever this wet noodle bat syndrome he's got going on is gonna fix him I got news for you it ain't like it's not because he's not loved by the Padre's fans not because he's not being supported this guy's hitting leadoff still we're 27 games into the season he's hitting leadoff the the manager hasn't dropped him to ninth yes he had a very weird offseason where he's like hey bro you're moving to second okay what's that got to do with your bat well I think I think the point is is this is that the reason he's still hitting lead off is because the Padres have that money into him they also know what his career history is and guys sometimes slump and so he's slumping in the early part of the season and by the way they're a game behind the Dodgers let him work it out yeah I would I would asked a question because T said this last year or he T said this when they talked about moving him from Stuart to the Outfield that mentally his brain is in a different place during the game when he is at shortstop this may be a unintended side effect of Xander Bogart's moving him to second base maybe his mind is operating in a different place by being at second base and being at short because last year he had some of these ups and downs too but at the end of the year he looked like normal Xander Bogarts yeah I'll buy that I'll buy it I I'll buy I'll buy the position move uh could lead to uh offensive struggles I'll buy that all day long
