different before we get to our guest tonight and its headlines around the UNM Community um or UNM Athletics uh just feel like it would be pertinent to those all involved because sometimes uh the local stations and the journal do not other than blurbs and I don't know if the journal has space anymore um we just think the most important things in UNM and I want to do it nationally but for today it's kind of our head headline segment we don't have a name for it it'll hopefully be better in the future but we want it to start it tonight uh and I'll get Rick's thoughts on this UNM men's basketball the UN men's basketball team is set up to open the season against UCLA in Las Vegas that's November 8th that is a big game part of this better schedule that they've Rick that Richard patino has put together um and I guess Eddie Nunes who's no longer here the two teams didn't have a venue set but now they do the Lobos will take on the Bruins at Le Family Forum the arst formerly known as the Dollar Loan Center UNM won the four games they played in The Dollar Loan Center last year they beat Toledo rice Pepperdine and Santa Clara once again this game is set for November 8th 2024 according to the UNM men's basketball X or Twitter page game time ticket and TV information will all be announced later the UNM football team has also had a CH scheduled change they play that night in America's Finest City San Diego to take on the aexs of San Diego State kickoff for that game is at 8:30 PM it's on FS1 and obviously I get I I don't know what they're going to do with the radio for that night and I don't know where Rob poro is gonna be Rick I was hoping it'd be at the MGM Grand I was hoping it would be at T-Mobile because I don't think the golden knights are there but they're still in Vegas what are your thoughts on that well if they need someone to do the game I'll be more than happy to do one of them um but I'm looking forward to to this game you know know the lobo's got a much tougher um out-of-conference basketball schedule and to me that's really exciting when you get to see a brand name like UCLA on the schedule and we all know Lobo fans travel well to Las Vegas so I don't know what they'll be calling this Arena the the pit West part two or whatever they're going to call it but I'm sure um there will be a lot of UCLA fans as well um since it won't be a very close drive for the LA folk um so I'm looking forward to that it's right around my birth and uh the weather will be cool enough so should be a good time to be in the Vegas area man what what are you thinking as I know you're gonna be there what are you looking forward to in that one I will be there as a member of the media and it's very nice I'm looking forward to it man I think it's finally a good game for UNM to kick off we've talked about it already I feel you can't go wrong with you know I don't think you UCLA what is UCLA considered a blue blood still it's Kentucky KU I guess you can throw Kansas in there Michigan State um I thought you had to win four titles Michigan State hasn't done that but they always play in that Champions classic I'm excited you know I'll be at UCLA and I'll be at at at St John's in MSG that's you know I'm looking forward to that um I used to take the train into into Penn Station every day that's uh that's my old Stomp and ground I'm looking forward to that H it's just better than like Texas Southern or you know [ __ ] you I'm I'm happy that it's UCLA again um hopefully you know Mick Cronin I he's probably on his you know deathbed as head coach there but I'm looking forward to it it's a good Marquee matchup for un M I think at probably this stage for UCLA it's probably a good matchup for them it might help them boost their resume but again when you're beating Big 10 teams probably it does not matter moving on other headlines tonight UNM baseball on the UNM baseball X page an announcement came earlier on Tuesday that six crucial players will return and that's outfielder khil Walker outfielder will asby first baseman outfielder Ethan a outfielder Ty Wood first baseman Jean tro and infielder achil Carris all six batters had a batting average over 300 in what was a potent offense Under head coach Todd Brown UNM finished second behind the United States Air Force Academy in the Mountain West Conference last year and they also lost in the Mountain West Conference uh tournament love uh I loved coming I loved wow I loved that'll be clipped it's like that UFC fighter that said I'm coming on your ass um I loved covering Ray Birmingham and the UNM baseball team when they played at Isotopes Park when they were good got to see step Strasburg pitch with San Diego State baseball I mean I'm a big baseball F fan I loved UNM baseball it was very sad the day Ray Birmingham retired seems like Todd Brown's got a little bit more momentum coming from 2024 to 202 25 those batting averages are fantastic the ball flies in Albuquerque everybody listening that lives in Albuquerque knows that uh to track and field track and field men and women's teams are ranked they will both open the season among the top 25 teams in the nation in the US this is a mouthful us track and field and cross country coaches association preseason coaches poll that is the direct copy released by the organization uh today on Tuesday the UNM men are eight they're high preseason ranking in history and the women ranked number 20 in the nation it's also the first time since 2015 that both programs were ranked within the top 20 at the same time the UNM men are the reigning Mountain West champions and had the mountain region athlete of the year and habat I can never say his name habat Samuel he also uh was a national champion uh they kick off both men and women's cross country teams for UNM kickoff their season and its inaugural rust Buster at the Lori Fitzgerald open in cruus on Saturday that's August 31st with live results available on golobos.com and you can also follow the Lobos track and field X andig for coverage now to a little bit of football and I'll get Rick's thoughts before we get to our uh our next whoops I forgot to change the slide there um next guess uh the UNM football team blew a 17-point lead to twice on Saturday to lose a Montana State that's thanks to Bar still gambling uh they had a 98.2% chance in stealing that from ESPN to win the game uh up until the final they LED all but of the final 10 seconds and they are the third largest blown lead by an fcbs team do n FCS team thanks CBS sports for that credit there uh the 17p point comeback was the most I think with the last six or seven years again they were down 31 to4 with 13 minutes to go in the fourth quarter and they paid Montana state $360,000 to lose to them UNM will go to Arizona this Saturday and in Tucson they will have back-to-back power for opponents whatever it's called P4 in Arizona who is in the Big 12 and Auburn from the secc they get a byee I think that's the 20 what the 14th of September um Arizona will pay UNM $900,000 to go there and that's according or excuse me yeah they will pay the $9,000 AG go there Auburn will pay them 1.9 million to go to Auburn Alabama that is one of the three highest or the highest uh payments for P5 was it P5 or P4 to uh the group of five so it's a $2.8 million 3-week trip for UNM and they will give probably $360,000 to that to Montana state for that comeback Arizona is ranked number number 21 the country I'm very excited to watch them I like Noah ffid uh Toria McMillan which is his first name I keep butchering how do I pronounce this UFC fighters name uh and again according to action Network's consens cons consensus betting line they are a 31 and a half Point Underdog UNM Rick we didn't get your thoughts very quickly how did you feel about the UNM football game for somebody who was in two-time offensive State lineman in the land of enchantment uh sure I think from on the Montana State Side what you see is oine wearing down on a team over the course of a game they never gave up on the run and I really got to tip my hat off to Tommy malot I mean that kid got his Bell rung three or four times in the first half and you know he's on the sideline kind of scratching his head but he never flinched man he came back in the game and had some big runs and definitely some big passes but on the UNM side you know obviously I'm disturbed by that loss I haven't been that em emotional over a a game I haven't been part of myself in a long time and that's just because I really saw um a good team out there and I think what it came down to I won't hit on all the stats because we already went over that is you know the three to five decisions and plays in the end the decisions to me that you know the coaching kind of need to look at are not you know the decision to kick the field goals and that type of thing it's you know the last drive when there's about five minutes left on the clock and they're snapping the ball what I to my memory maybe with 15 or 10 seconds left on the you know the play clock where they can be winding that down and when you're in Downs like first and second down and you're you know under five four minutes and you're in that four-minute offense and the other team knows what's coming you have to just convert better the other team knows the run's coming you know the run is coming but you have to give you know your team a chance on first and second down which they didn't on those last two drives thus putting yourself in third and seven third and six situations and you know the two receivers that missed the ball um you know in in Medford and weong those are balls they catch 98 you know out of a hundred times I would think so it's just unfortunate it was at that time but there was bigger plays in the game that were missed and the defense obviously missing assignments um at various times and the thing to me that you just have to look at is if those two defensive touchdowns didn't occur what kind of game would this really have been you know with the offense struggling the way it was kind of puttering along in the second half and just one more thought I know we got to run is I was listening to whatever the Lobo show is this this afternoon and they had one of the the linemen on there um I think it was rich Richard Pierce and they're asking him about the naked bootleg play by D Pierre and he what Pierce said is the the play in the Huddle was a run up the middle Daner called that an improv play and faked it himself and booted it out that's why he was probably laughing to himself as he galloped in the end zone so to me if he's having to call that play on his own it's a disgusting misuse of his talents because that should be in the repertoire but other than that I'm I'm encouraged by what I saw and I'm actually have higher hopes I'm going forward I I liked what I saw for the most part I don't want to keep beating a dead horse uh I don't know the last time I saw a team score two defensive touchdowns let alone in person and lose the game probably never in all the games I've covered uh it blows my exploitive mind I I didn't know I'm glad you said that that that he had to call out of that here's the two you know we just showed the two misfield go as we're showing highlights cury of Fox Sports there I don't it's it and I wanted I forgot to queue up the Scorpions winds have changed tonight because once that wind started at UNM Stadium uh it was very it was like oh they it just got weird and that's not a place that you get weird at because no one's ever there it it's just I I keep I keep thinking about it because it's weird to me um I I was kind of uh I don't know it I'm I'm losing my train of thought I don't want to do that on air because we've already we talked about this game like it was the freaking Super Bowl there's the Gap um you know I was talking to Ned James the other day the offensive line is good but again you had a backup FCS running back and a third string FCS uh running back torching unm's defense so I'm very concerned for what they have to face at all at Arizona and Auburn uh we will go to a quick commercial break then we will be joined by Adam green and Brett Barry who I thought was Brent Berry when he followed us and I was like oh [ __ ] uh from Wildcat radio 2.0 my name is Ryan Tamor this is Rick Thompson this is the pr pit press live [Music] let him cook let him cook now let him cook I said let him go oh [Music] [Music] all right make sure I've got the screen set up nothing like doing that on uh a live recording uh yes Ronnie Chavez very quickly welcome back to the pit press live my name is Ryan Sor women's soccer beat orgon on Sunday two to one on the young season they did I forgot to mention that that's my bad on that all right we now turn our tide from Montana State thank God to uh the University of Arizona and we're happy to have these special guests on Arizona finish 2020 three 10 and three overall they were a ton of fun to watch God bless them in the Alamo Bowl covering for me and capped it off with a huge win in that alobo against number 12 Oklahoma and Brent venables they scored 25 on I had 125 let me fix that they scored 25 unanswered points in the final 15 minutes and two seconds to beat the Sooners 38-24 and finish number 11 in the AP poll in 2023 the UNM football team heads to Tucson to take on the number 21 ranked Arizona Wildcats on on Saturday you can watch the game on Lobo you can listen to the game on Lobo radio network sadly for those UNM fans you can watch the game on ESPN kickoff is at local time site time 7:30 it is 8:30 PM mountain time to help break down the game joining the show our co-host of Wildcat 2.0 the first is all about his son Sports sarcasm bacon craft beer dogs Stak Wednesday whatever that is I love it and the Arizona Wildcats his name is Adam green the other is a native Arizona Sports Fan Music nerd craft beer afficionado real estate professional podcaster for at Wildcat radio a Brett Barry I appreciate you letting me steal that off your Twitter page thank you for joining us how are you guys today say I think I can't speak for Brett but I know I'm good we're a few days away from Arizona opening their season the most highly anticipated season in recent memory um so yeah things are good over here yeah I'm I'm good we haven't blown a 17-point lead in a long time so uh feeling better than you guys are probably yeah again not one coming in hot not not one but two so that's that's UNM football in a nutshell um your audio is perfect by the way this is how I host this show I'm just myself I want to start off with a couple of questions and I'm I'm gonna throw it out there immediately this team was fun to watch last last year I thought they probably had one of the better defenses they punched Washington in the mouth I know they came back they fell short um what Noah faf did and then I keep butchering his name so I just will start with McMillan uh 66 what two3 like holy moly uh he I think he's probably a first round draft pick if he um does what he did last year and I'll get to those stats I've already killed Lobo fan with that this is a question you guys feel free to to answer how you want um and it it is very open for him I don't know why I'm trying to trying to say that my my I can't even land a joke now with my terrible sense of humor but um is that is that Alamo bow win equivalent or better than a wildcat run in the NCAA tournament to alumni and fans well how deep of I run in the NCAA tournament well you know you're not you you're not UNM so they would want a sweet 16 and they'd have a parade like they won the World Cup okay it's definitely better final final four nothing would touch final four I think except for maybe a rose bow for Arizona football fans but I think what you might be getting at which is absolutely true was last season for Arizona football was so damn cathartic in so many ways right like not only were they good but they were really good and to finish the season off with the alabo win which was you know it's a bowl game Oklahoma was sitting a lot of their key guys or they missing a lot of key players Arizona not as much they were missing a couple of guys but to finish the season off the way they did it was already a great season with or without a win against Oklahoma but like that was the cherry on top right it was like okay this was nice 10 wins a big bow Victory a lot of good vibes heading into the offseason everything's going to turn out great Arizona's on the up and up and then like two weeks later things were different but at that moment it was a very very satisfying cathartic lovely way to end a season but it wouldn't touch a final four no yeah Arizona fans are very very angsty to get to a final four andite lead 8 doesn't do it for us anymore which is a source of conservation um but yeah I to to Echo what Adam said you know it was a borderline magical season and the crazy thing is I mean you even kind of talked about it Arizona was not they they gave Washington a good fight I think that was correct me if I'm wrong Adam that was no F's first start it was yeah um and so that was his first start as a fresh as a as a red shirt freshman um and they probably should have beaten USC in that you know however many overtime Thing game where uh Jed fish maybe forgot that you have to go for two and and maybe would have changed his plays earlier uh in the game uh and you know the the Almo bow I think was fun and it was a I mean if you guys watched it or if your fans watched it uh for a lot of that game uh Oklahoma's in control and Arizona is missing their left tackle was noticeable uh who sat out became first round pick in Jordan Morgan uh but then obviously the second half was uh one of the more delightful experiences in college football uh I've had as an Arizona fan and quite some time or at least in my adult life uh aside from maybe beating ASU uh to win the Pack 12 South a few years back uh I remember the game well I had the flu really bad and all I did was gamble on college bowl games and I had a very good day and Arizona was letting me down in that third quarter and and bless them they that's why they're one of my favorite teams this year uh Jed fish went 16 and 21 in his three seasons in Tucson he left for Washington because of the domino effect I don't know if that's a sore subject um was there is there any animosity to him given that the conference realignment has taken place and My Broken Heart has Washington no the Pack 12 is no more uh is there any an animosity towards Jed fish leaving for udubb Adam you want to take this you want me to I was gonna say we I think it depends like from the fan base absolutely there is plenty of animosity I think it's less to do with with Jed fish leaving but the perception of how he left obviously coming off a 10- win season when I think like a week before fish is like I'm not going anywhere this is where I want to be like we have you know 18 or 22 starters coming back why would I why would I leave that you know we a playoff team next season and then he leaves and you know I think the then Washington athletic director I think now at Nebraska I think he left for but like he goes to Jed Fisher's house to do the contract you know jetfish has like the wild cat stuff bear down in front of the house you see it in the Washington video it's like come on man and then there reports about how he like didn't really gave the team like two minutes after you know he's like hey I'm leaving peace out and then tried to poach half the roster there is animosity that way I do think for a lot of Arizona fans though the way they rebounded with Brent Brennan and especially so the way they kept NOA they kept Toro McMillan you know they just the bulk of the team they lost a few guys to Washington Ephesians prick was a starter Isaiah Ward was probably going to be a starter they lost most of their recruiting class High schoolwise um but the fact that Arizona is still coming into this season ranked top 25 still being picked by a lot of people to be a college football playoff team it's hard to be that upset with Jed fish for this season so there's the idea of like it's more about how he left or the perception of how he left and then tried to poach the roster but if you remove that from the equation I think Arizona fans are just fine yeah and it's it's funny how you framed it as uh Jed fish was what he said 16 and 21 as a Arizona head coach and he he's the head coach at the runnerup in the national title game and then Arizona hires Brent Brennan who has TI he finished second uh actually in the coaching race as it were uh when fish was hired the first time and people are like well this guy doesn't have a winning record but he's at San Jose State and comes in uh guy with Arizona ties a dick Tomy disciple for those of you that don't know dick Tomy in Arizona that was kind of the Heyday Arizona I believe uh had the the most wins in the pack 10 at the time in the which is kind of insane when you think of Arizona football um they were kind of a model of consistency um and Brent Brenan is a guy that spoke at dick tomy's funeral and so I'm try I'm trying to actively Turn the Page away from Jed fish as I think most Arizona fans probably should and celebrating Brent Brennan who came in has already passed a lot of the tests in terms of roster retention uh in terms of guys that Jed fish was trying to poach and in the age of nil I think retention is the new recruiting in a lot of ways and so far so good in terms of Brent Brennan and staff uh and you know he's been a guy that's done more with less San Jose State and we we're all kind of I think excited to see what he can do with a little bit more yeah to piggy back off thought real quick is I think if you would have asked this question I don't know four or five months ago within the different transfer portal Windows right because that's the thing there was the initial 15 days when fish left and there's all this fear who's going to leave who's going to enter the portal tario Davis someone who entered the portal and stuck around on the portal for a while but stayed with Arizona throughout camp and all that stuff and then they have the second window it's like okay this team that Arizona fans were so high on the one that Jed fish had said 18 to 22 starters coming back it's like we all knew that you know there's no guarantee of a playoff there's no guarantee they're going to win the Big 12 but with the roster they had you can talk about that legitimately you can say hey they got the pieces with things go right if they get a couple breaks they can win a conference they can make a playoff so as long as the cloud of well what if these guys leave for Washington or anywhere else was hanging over the program it was tough to really move on from Jed fish because of you know his tenure wasn't quite over yet because he left and he could still pull guys to Washington but now that we're past that obviously went through Spring ball now fall Camp we're a few days away from the season opener and the roster is what it is I think it's a lot easier to say okay maybe Arizona dodged a bullet but here they are with a top 25 team that has a chance to make the playoff still so it's hard to be truly upset with where they are but I still think there's probably some Arizona fans who are you know Jed fish is dead to them and that's just the way it's going to be no matter what happens from here Brent Brennan is is a nice guy I met him last year Mountain West Conference football media days I was blown away I I was blown away by him he was great he's a very good offensive-minded coach what he played at UCA was a wide receiver there his teams over the last five years at San Jose State averaged 31.8 points per game and last year they they outscored a really bad UNM team UNM defensive team uh 38-7 in the second half to win an Albuquerque 52-4 what do you guys think of the higher and what are his expectations given everything you just talked about with Jed fish I'll I'll I'll go ahead and go first on this one Adam if you don't mind um you know I think uh I think Adam and I and I think the fan base in general are pretty supportive of the higher in that Brent Bron's biggest strengths uh are that he is a really likable guy he's a genuine guy he's a developer of talent he's done more with less um and you know I think the hope is here in a kind of workingclass town like Tucson is that he's kind of the antidote to some of the the the Cutthroat nature a little bit of the nil transfer portal um NFL um especially where a program like Arizona where they're competitive maybe in nil but if you're just going to try to drop the biggest bag you're not going to get the most talent I I think um personally I think if you have somebody there that's genuine and is able to develop guys that's a good recipe for success for Arizona in terms of stability um obviously he's walking into a really good situation with T-Mac uh with no fa with Jacob Manu with tario Davis who's probably another potential first round Draft pick on this roster on the defense um and he's done a pretty good job of filling out his coaching staff he you know I don't know if we can say retained Dwayne Aina as the defensive coordinator when he you know had a cup of coffee in Texas during the off season uh and then came back as defensive coordinator he was on the staff last year um you know I think that the the floor for a b Brent Brennan team is probably relatively high and he's kind of walking into a place where he's already he's not having a build from scratch like has been the common theme for Arizona coaches in the last oh I don't know when was the last time Arizona had a coach hired away as opposed to we paid them a buyout to go away at him 20 years was it Larry right yeah so a minute it's been a minute um uh so I I am you know generally optimistic but I'm an Arizona Wildcat fan so we we we all just generally assume we can't have nice things but if there's a if there's a guy that I have some faith in building something sustainable uh and a lot of the talk in in the in the local press has always been like the model for Arizona is to be like a Utah a team that develops uh that Mains its roster I think and I think Brent Brennan is a kind of a a hire that fits that mold in terms of being a sustainable success program so I'm cautiously optimistic yeah to put a bow on that I think there's two competing ideas here when it comes to Brent Brandon the H is that on the one hand he's super likable has had success and there's this belief that given the resources that he didn't have at St Jose State and now he has at Arizona he can take his coaching or his you know record up another level or two like that's entirely possible possible the other hand he's taken over a team that has realistic playoff expectations right so he comes in as a new coach and if they were to win eight games seven eight games normally as an Arizona coach like that's great you know it's your first year you got that done you're in a bowl game you're competitive terrific but if that happens this season it's going to be looked at as a huge disappointment and let down so you know there's a lot of coaches who come in there's a honeymoon period And I think Brennan has one to the extent that people like him and as Brett mentioned he passed the first couple tests in retaining the talent that He had on the roster filling out the coaching staff you all the things he could have done up to this point he's done well but if they only win seven games without any major injuries it's be like okay is HE capable of winning at this level but for right now I think he's checked all the boxes that people could have asked of him and it's just about you know did he build the right staff can they coach can they win football games because you know do they have 10- win Talent last season probably not you they caught a couple of breaks in some games they were competitive but the coaching did a lot to get them to 10 wins so it's like if they take a step back and people going say well the coaching took a step back too fair or not that's what he's dealing with this season so no honeymoon period no soft Landing it's all right you better get out there and start winning because you have the talent but we do like you and we believe in you that's kind of where I think they're at right now um Adam Brett nice to meet you I'm Ricky when when I'm looking at this team obviously the biggest uh piece of the puzzle that they were able to retain and not lose to Washington I believe is at that quarterback back position with Noah faf you know winning Pack 12 offensive player of the year after beating out Jayden Delora you know early in the season can you talk a little bit about what his expectations are moving forward and then a little bit about these receivers like mck Millan and what other receivers are gonna kind of jump off the screen at us in the first week yeah just to even not to correct you but it's not even that ffid beat out Jaden Delora earlier in the season Delora was the starter to a lot of people's dismay until he got hurt against Stanford then faf comes in guides him to a win with like one touchdown drive he was okay and then he comes out Washington plays okay and then USC plays well they almost win those games and then he just kept the job I don't even think fish announced him as the starter like at all he was always just like yeah maybe delore will be that guy admittedly I was on team delore for a while because I'm like hey I saw did the year before and I was wrong so I'll put that out there I'll own that but you know after what faid did as a red shirt freshman we've held you to we've held you to that oh yeah everyone should but I think there was a time last year like okay sooner or later defens are going to figure him MAV right he's not a big quarterback he's not a runner per se he's mobile he's got a good arm but he's just not the prototypical quarterback and you figure okay sooner or later they're going to figure him out the book's going to be out on him and you're going to slow him down and really he seemed to get better throughout the season including the Alamo bow where his deep ball like towards the last couple games against ASU against Oklahoma he was thr a better deep ball more accurate deep ball than he had been all season so if you figur just the growth that faid had as the starter throughout the year now he has a full offseason as the starter the offense is tailored to Noah faid you know it's a little bit of a different offense I'm sure than what Jed fish was running but the talk all offseason has been they're not rewriting any they're not trying to like remake the wheel here they're trying to like fit what they can into this team that already knows what they're doing like they won 10 games for a reason so the expectation for him is not to turn himself into like a first round NFL draft pick he doesn't have the size he doesn't have the me Ables but if he goes out there and is at least On The Fringe Heisman Trophy talk that's what I think people expect what that means in terms of like record obviously but throwing touchdowns making good decisions with the ball just getting those receivers involved because they do have that Tac gets the headlines and each show he's a first round draft pick you have Montan lonus Craig who came over from Colorado last season and was their third receiver behind Jacob cowing also who's with the San Francisco 49ers now and you have some other guys I think Jeremiah Patterson is a Joo guy he is going to be He's listed as one of their starters now a slot guy supposed to be super fast you have Malachi Riley you have AJ Jones like you have a lot of receivers on this team other guys have mention Melo Murphy who should all find their way into the field and I'll let Brett take over from here but one thing about Jed fish is that he had that NFL mentality where they had their top three receivers and unless they were hurt they played and it sounds like Brent BR and his staff don't see it that way they're going to rotate more guys and like imagine t-x gonna be on the field all the time you don't rotate him off the field but you're going to see a lot more of those weapons guys who we've been watching and saying hey I wonder if they could be pretty good like we saw Malachy Riley briefly see now AJ Jones briefly like oh they got some talent I wonder what happened if they got a you know 15 20 snaps a game and it now seems like we're gonna get to see that so but I think no matter what I thought is no f is gonna be the type of quarterback to make all those receivers look good yeah uh it's it's a dangerous game to ask Arizona fans the expectations for their quarterback that's really good because I everybody just hear or pictures the handam the Heisman of khil Tate on Sports Illustrated which went perfectly they did not hand him the Heisman correct I remember that um no but it's you know the to I I think you're right to point out the importance of Noah faf we've actually been on some other shows and we've talked about this and like the the thing that is hard to quantify or you know it's an intangible thing of Noah fa beyond the measurables uh and the you know the Improvement in the Deep ball uh he has the the the ear of that Collective locker room last year when they uh when I was actually at the game in Pullman when they destroyed a then ranked Washington State team like it was just a comical Beatdown that Arizona used to be on the other side of that uh in recent years uh C nefa uh came and on during his ESPN interview uh you know 350 pound Polynesian player lineman came and just put a metaphorical crown on him while I was getting uh interviewed and I think that was a pretty good metaphor for the passing of the torch and the anointing of him as the leader in the in the locker room especially as you know one thing jedf fish did right was they embraced the old diomi era of Polynesian culture uh and that kind of family environment which BR Brennan is steeped in that as well uh and so no F was probably a pretty critical guy in terms of of keeping together a lot of that offensive line that's also from that poly Community uh his old High teammates you know including everybody knows T-Mac Jacob Manu the middle linebacker is also one of his teammates and one of those other guys that's not a receiver but you're probably going to see a a lot of balls thrown his way come Saturday is another guy from cite High School in that class Keon Bernett uh Arizona had Tanner melin uh get drafted and uh make an NFL roster this year I forget which team may Cincinnati I was gonna say that but I didn't want to say something wrong Adam damn it would had have been the first time buddy oh I know hey I already try to pronounce Coo's last name live on the air so I think I deserve a little bit of credit um no but Kon berett was actually the I I Believe by the consensus rankings the clear second highest rank ranking of the four site guys uh and the other two guys are Jacob Manu potential Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year candidate and Noah faid potential Heisman candidate oh and you know tedo McMillan uh and all reports are out of camp that he is uh bulked up gotten stronger become a better better all-around blocker and if you've looked at San Jose State in recent years they Ed the tight ends a lot so there's probably a big opportunity for him to step up uh I I kind you know in me and Adam's last pod I actually was saying that he's probably going to be second on the team in both receptions and touchdowns behind Tac it was was my my hot take uh I'm buying ke Keon Brett stock um so it's you know it's it's it's a GNA be an interesting uh offense and I think that I think uh as Adam talked about I think we're excited to see some of these other receivers rotate through because Jed fish was damn stubborn with rotating guys in on on the receiver spot but also when you have tmac and you know another NFL receiver uh you know uh on the field why are you g to rotate guys in right yeah and I guess yeah thank you for breaking that whole passing game it's it's going to be a steep challenge for UNM they do have some players in the secondary with Noah Avenger transfer some San Diego State he had a a score last week on defense but where UNM really had some trouble this past week was defending the Run um what can you guys tell us about the Run game outside of someone we're very familiar with in jakori crossy Meritt as we used to call him Bill who we're going to be trying to smash this week who was a stallion here what are I heard I was reading there's maybe two or three other backs that could get touches outside of him and what does this o line look like so first thanks for Bill he's looked great so far there was a little bit of like is he eligible is he not you can thank you can thank Old Miss too yeah that you know there was the little bit of uh you know he kind of lived in the transfer portal for a little while where I think he changed his address um I think Arizona's gonna probably run a three to fourman rotation and a true rotation at the running back spot and I think bills at the top of that list and just in terms of of talent and capability but also uh qu Conley came over followed the coaching staff from San Jose State had you know a lot of success there I think he had a pretty big game when they were challenging USC last year granted uh USC's defense was not exactly uh living up to their recruiting rankings uh but also they have kedra crano another former fourstar uh transfer I believe he's a red shirt freshman another bigger back and then Arizona also has raan Speedy Luke he uh the name is not a trick name he is fast he has track speed and has been trying to bulk up probably should have been red shirted by the prior coaching staff to give him a better chance in his career but you're going to see him at least you know get a number of touches and space guys got like literal Sprinter speed like you know like sub 10 second 100 100 yard dash kind of things uh and a guy that if if they can get him the ball in space I wouldn't be surprised if they try to swing him out wide uh run screen plays for him you know there's going to be probably a lot of pre pre- snap motion uh and they're all running behind uh four fifths of a returning offensive line the only starter that is uh not returned to the roster is Jordan Morgan who we talked about who was a first- round draft pick the old other tackle is Jonas SAA I just saw ESPN had him in as a first round pick this this coming draft another big freak monster athlete poly Community guy out of Hawai uh they and then they've returned guy the starters at each spot wend Moy uh Josh baker there's a little bit of questions of uh Leaf Magnuson who started a lot of games last year has been in and out with injuries but they also have Ryan Stewart who transferred over so the offensive line at least in the front five looks good to potentially great um they also oh and also the guy filling in is a red shirt freshman uh Rhino who I'm not even going to attempt to pronounce the last name another Polynesian uh guy but all reports are is the red shirt freshman he's come out and really just clearly won the left tackle role for for better or worse uh so you feel pretty good as an Arizona fan about that line to create the holes for the the strong stable of running backs you know if they start to have some injuries or two or guys go down you know we get a little bit nervous Adam and I talk about depth a lot on this roster it's we joke that it's our drinking game but if you drank every time we said depth nobody would survive uh but overall those are I think those two rooms are generally considered strengths and I think the running back room is is is definitely considered a strength especially in terms of the depth yeah there's not much I can add to that other than I think we're all interested to see how this coaching staff deploys their running backs too because unlike receivers you're not going to have three of them on the field at any given time right so it's like we assume that bill is the top of the chart right now and that's what the dep chart says and how all the talk has been of Campus just how electric he is that he is the real deal as you guys would be aware of but after that it's like okay how many carries does that mean is he getting 15 carries is he getting 18 20 is it game Flow dependent we just don't know how this team's gonna how this coaches have plans to deploy those guys but you know Brett now on the offensive line not much to add there and you know Arizona lost their leading rusher last season Jonah Coleman to Washington and Michael Wy graduated he was in the NFL I think the Washington just waved him but I imagine he's going to end up on the practice squad but those are their top two running backs and they're both gone and we sit there and say okay they're still fine at running back you know and the transfer portal is a big part of that is the part of that but you know it's just with this coaching staff how they're going to use these running backs it seems like they have enough guys with varied skill sets to manage in most game situations but I think none of us are quite sure of what that's going to look like in a game like Saturday if it gets out of hand like some people seem to think a lot of people seem to think or other games later on the season where if it's more competitive or just however it is we just don't know yet and Ryan I got I got one more before I let you take over here I was reading about some of the improvements they're going to be making to the stadium there this year and I've been lucky enough to go back in 2008 where we beat you guys I was in the end zone cheering loud maybe had a few beverages or not um I heard they're gonna have a a a DJ there that also DJs for the Arizona car and Phoenix Suns making it maybe like a party like atmosphere upgraded fireworks a light show pyrot Technics uh more food items can you guys tell us what you're looking forward to most this year at the the new game uh how it's going to look here for me it's just a better team I mean the food options could have always been better you know food drink options are always nice I think I know I'm too old to care about like the DJ and stuff like that I going to be like turn that I'm try I thought you wanted a dance area Adam like you got too many flashing lights too much I want to watch football you know I it it's funny because it's like anything you know it's been more than 20 years since I was a student there basically or 20 or so years since I was a student going to games that way and then obviously it's been probably about 15 years since I've been considered old so a lot of what they're doing in terms of the stadium experience isn't for me but at the same time you know anything that you know the video board is nice if they can change some of that stuff around make it just more I think I saw there be like more replays and things like that which is good you want to see stuff like that like you don't want to have a better experience watching on TV in terms of understanding what's happening than you get at the game so more replays would be nice better food options better drink options those are the things that speak to me the DJ I mean turn that music down people are trying to sleep you know pyrot Technics I think they used to do pyrotechnics after touchdowns which admittedly sometimes we didn't get a lot of back in the day but I don't think that's an issue this season going forward so you know anything choose a game experience for everyone else like I am not the target audience I understand that and I accept a lot of the other changes to to clarify they had a DJ the last couple years it was DJ scooter and he sucked he went with fish I think yeah and and Jed fish for all the smart decisions he made h a recurring bad problem was the pre fourth quarter song when they pick like a country song like what are you doing try to Hype people up when your team is like also you know up until last year below 500 and Str you know in the middle of a 20 game losing streak um you know the the one the one uh for people that come and that are coming to make the trip uh there's been a lot of upgrades to the stadium overall but it is not spread around the stadium equally the North End Zone was completely rebuilt probably what 10 12 years ago Adam sounds right and then the uh the east side which is where the student section is has been been fully renovated it's cool concessions The Concourse is really big I have season tickets on the other side and it is the hundredy old stadium crappy bathrooms narrow concourses uh that uh they're you know they're trying to upgrade things in in stages uh and you know to to things like the the light show and things like that I mean I was there during the jet fish years where you know they try to they Tred to make some of those things happen and it just doesn't work when your team's not very good but those hype things work really good when you're winning kind of thing um so maybe that's me my my version of Adams get off my lawn commentary uh but the the best way to to to enjoy the the game atmosphere and all those you know extracurricular things for lack of better term is the team that's winning handily uh of course when it's 100 degrees the game started at 7:30 and it's 10:30 at night uh if Arizona's up early you know it's one thing to convince the college kids and the season ticket holders that come out and enjoy the game it's another thing to have them stick around until 11 o'clock at night when it's still 95 degrees out and they're up 35 points and you're watching third stringers uh but you know God willing we'll have a very boring second half from an Arizona fan perspective come Saturday and now they'll get blasted in the face with Fire by P pyrot Technics that'll feel nice cool them down I'm just imagining that right now something going horribly like PA like the T-Mac they're celebrating the end zone the pyrot Technic like they they calibrated it wrong or just blast both it's like oh no that would be that would be WBUR catches on [Laughter] fire go ahead Ryan oh no no no sorry the well you you and I mean Albuquerque is known for is the hot air ballooning capital of the world and they did something new on Saturday where they had two baskets of for like hot air balloon right they're called baskets right gez I've grown up here and lived here all my life um and when they took the field they have a new entrance gond looks okay they have a new weight room they walk through that and they enter the field gondolas gondolas yeah God God that's the UNM education and they lit those up on and when the team was running out it looked like one of them I know well you know it's did you watch the Montana State game um it uh it look one of the pyrot Technics or one of the gondola one of the fire one of the propane tanks on the Gondola looked like it was going to explode on one of the side because they had two of them and they had a flag with the lobbo on it and that just made me think of that and I think Wreckers shoots I don't know what they do when they score they do something there but um we were there in 2007 when we were in college and our friend this is going to be completely out of context our friend Vincent Steiner was a Willie tuyama guy um and you andem I couldn't believe they went in there and beat them um and I'm gonna try to pronounce his foot first name to to AOA McMillan I I thought I wrote itally and I still butchered it anyway yeah T-Mac is easy or what is he T McMillan I saw some people calling him um 90 receptions last year I just want to throw this out there 90 receptions last year over 14 00 yards 10 touchdowns uh UNM saw somebody like that and Ricky White except McMillan is a lot bigger um and then Rick kind of touched on it I asked about I wanted to know you said the name and I I hope I didn't write it down wrong how do you pronounce that Montana luminous Craig lemonius Craig I think I'm not the name lonus Craig like and that's one of the easier names on the team there's you look at on his dep chart there's a lot of apostrophes and it's it's challenging yeah that was that was the problem on Saturday here uh I know the gentleman who who was over the PA in the Press Box at UNM and he was struggling with with the names and I felt really bad for him Dino babers is the offensive coordinator for Brent Brennan he has a history with Arizona and Brennan did an okay job at Syracuse uh how has his hiring been felt amongst Wildcat fans given his success and what he has to work with I think Brett was trying to point at me and he got his his angles mixed up there it's I think his hire was met with most people were pleased because of his history with Arizona there's a lot of folks and I don't think Brad and I are those people who say just bring back everyone from the Tomy years right if they were coached at Arizona played at Arizona bring them back like is he a good hire he's a former head coach you know used to be a considered a good offensive mind is he that guy now we talked to someone on our podcast last week his name is Rob bar and he does his beta rank sharp college football and he does it's just numbers you know algorithms and comes out with rankings and he's not a big fan of the babers hes like he didn't really have great offenses at Syracuse it was kind of questionable to bring him back to Arizona other than the fact that he's an Arizona guy like if he hadn't coached at Arizona before with Brennan is he getting an offensive coordinator job anywhere in the country probably not so through that lens it's like okay but the hope is that he's not dumb right he's a smart guy he knows what he's doing he can coach offensive football and if he molds his style with the talent he has it should be hard to mess things up like you have no faf you have Tor McMillan have the stable of running backs all these receivers the tight ends in an experienced offensive line if you can't make that work then you're a terrible coach if you're just an average coach or slightly above average coach you should be able to guide this team to points right it's not I mean yes scheming makes a difference I think in football more than any other sport especially offensively that's how Rich Rodriguez was able to win eight games a year with teams that weren't very good like offensively you can't scheme your way and Jed Fisher was a great play caller and play drawer upper but I don't think you have to be that to win with these players necessarily but it would help well I mean Jed fish was generally a great play caller but he also fell in love with the unnecessary trick play um and you know to to Adam's point you know I'm I'm a little more optimistic on the dino babers higher than maybe he or our guest last week was uh I mean he's one of several former head coaches that are on this staff including Brent Brennan and another guy that I think New Mexico fans are familiar with and Danny Gonzalez uh you know I the most curious Danny Gonzalez yeah um no I think the more the more Curious and interesting thing to look for starting with Saturday with Dino babers is what does he try to do all the word out of Camp is he's going to try to mold his offense and play calling to his players Talent rather than the other way around kind of the inverse of what nol mazone did with khil Tate years ago at Arizona um and I think all reports are so far generally that's true um you know what that means in terms of a play as as a play caller he going to be creative is he coming from a different era maybe I don't know uh to to Adam's point it really helps to have a you know top 15 probable draft pick in in tedo McMillan and another you know probable first round pick potentially on the line and a Heisman candidate at quarterback so just don't screw it up right um I doubt we're going to see a lot of crazy play calling this Saturday if if the line is to be believed granted I don't ever believe any line that has that big of a spread uh I would never bet on that in a million years um but I I think Arizona's gonna probably keep it vanilla with maybe trying out some complex plays if they get up early with some of these guys but uh it's it's going to take a number of weeks I think until we have a sense of what Dino babers means as an offensive coordinator as a play caller uh I don't think there's any reason to doubt him but I don't necessarily think that there's any reason to think that he's going to be a home run higher at this point dway Aina took over his defensive coordinator he was on the staff I guess as a consultant I could have that wrong you guys Jake mentioned Jacob Manu 116 tackles last year he led the Pack 12 rest in peace how good is he and does he anchors this does he anchor this Wild Cat's defense very good and yes analysis from Adam green yes simple and concise I loved that answer yeah Jacob Manu was the guy that was kind of the like other guy from the cite class with Tac paid and Keon brunette and has been the one of the earliest and most consistent contributors he's a little bit undersized as a linebacker uh but a definition of a gamer um you know I think there you know with the new rules where they can have the uh the headsets in I think he's probably the most likely guy to have uh the the radio and his helmet kind of a signal callar on the defensive side um he's just a guy that is easy to root for plays the game hard in the right way uh and it's going to get a lot of tack uh we've talked about it on our pod and with some other guests though the the real question is Arizona's kind of shifting their defensive scheme from having a lot more bigger bodies up front that are occupying blockers that clear us clear the way for a guy like Manu to go make make the tackles and they've kind of shifted away from that to a more attacking uh front four on the defensive line that may or may not set him up for uh you know fewer tackles if there if he's going to get uh if Arizona's is over penetrating early um but he's he's going to be I think coming end of the season right there in the in the allc conference uh you know first or second team and potentially defensive player of the year I appreciate that answer I didn't mean to keep you guys that long I will uh ask you both this very quick question uh two questions um is this talented of a I guess are you going to find a more prolific quarterback tandem wide receiver tandem in the country and your projections for the predictions for the game in the country I mean maybe right I mean I guess admittedly I don't know every single team but I assume there's teams that have Elite quarterbacks with Elite receivers like Ohio State I don't know what they have exactly but I imagine you could make a case for what they have in other schools but in terms of like what Arizona has it's you have to really work hard to beat uh faf a team me in part because of their connection they go back to like eighth grade in terms of how long they've known other been best friends so it's not only are they two highlevel players but they're like highle people who I mean they know each other like the back of each other's hands so that you probably won't find anywhere else um in terms of this game I I I write for a desert swarm uh an Arizona website and we have our score predictions and I did mine today if I remember I think I had 4113 Arizona um It just strikes me as a type of game where mean AR's got a lot to prove still you know they're pretty up after what happened in the offseason that they stuck together that they want because they want to finish the job they think that they have a team that can make a playoff and they want to prove it and this is the first opportunity to do so with this new coaching staff they're at home should be decent weather for them in the night game and I just feel like they're going to come out more fired up than a lot of times against a team that they're expected to beat by 30 right so you know I guess I don't have them covering but I do have them winning comfortably in this one yeah Adam kind of already said what I was going to say in terms of the the quarterback wide receiver combo I'm not there's probably teams that have the same kind of talent I doubt anybody has people that have that kind of connection uh as as as thoroughly as them and I'm not going to lie Adam I had not read uh your score prediction if it's been posted but the the number that came to my mind you said 4113 I was actually G gonna say 42 to 13 so uh I think my guess is probably PR right style of course you would you know I I feel better about my chances to to win that new car so I posed the question Sunday night if the Montana State game was one of the worst we've seen a well it's kind of I think you know at least you guys have been to a Fiesta Bowl and it uh UNM has not had that much success so I had said that it was one of the worst losses in programs history and the fans that listen ripped my ass a new one um or did I say that even right I don't know I'm getting tired um this is from from Lobo at Lobo Ronnie I don't know I wish I just want to give the name Ronnie Chavis if Lobo somehow beat the cats would it be one of the worst losses in Arizona program history there's a long list of really worst losses in program history I I I mean it would be the worst loss given the expectations of the Season be like wow is this really a playoff team but this is a team that lost to na just a few seasons ago Northern Arizona University FCS school at home this is a team that the year before lost 70 to7 to its instate rival so if you want to go would it be a bad loss yes would it be one of the worst losses sure would it be near the top of that list though it's it's a pretty strong list unfortunately yeah I'm gonna go with the na loss in that one Arizona could have should have been able to beat them without throwing a pass and they decided to throw pick sixes and and lose at home to na Jed Fisher's first year by the way in Washington's new head coach his first season with Arizona he lost to an FCS school at home so you know yeah that question well no they were attacking they because you know I'm just going to give you my prediction for the game it's going to be 1 million to nothing U OFA uh cool I'll take it I can see them coming the comments coming in now oh I'm taking that I'm taking that point spread all day and I know people on this team and I I mean I know connections to this UNM team I like them it's just what I saw I'm not [ __ ] on anybody um if you want to have a good story Google my name with Oregon and Michael Oxley uh again Arizona plays UNM on uh Saturday on ESPN dear good Lord have mercy um 8:30 p.m. mountain time Mountain Standard time or Pacific time because Arizona messes with the entire country I know it's 7:30 so you guys are an hour Brett Barry and Adam green you guys enjoy the game on Saturday thank you so much for an hour I didn't expect that conversation to go that long but you it was great thank you guys very much thanks for Jimmy H real quick Philly B I think we're both big fans his he he hardly ever got to play for Arizona but he was a guy that work hard good practice guy when he did play could some threes you know just a a great guy like we liked him at Arizona he wasn't going to see the court but it seems like a good fit for you guys so so really excited for Philly B is the type of guy you root for so Jimmy H you guys got a good one but thanks for having us yeah thank you guys I no I forgot to ask that I forgot to ask that question and uh I learned how to say his name and now I forgot it anyway we'll take a got God bless the Giants in that all right very quickly just some U gonna gonna read some sponsors gonna throw this question out to you got to pay some bills I'm gonna throw the question of the night out to you should UNM in Arizona play more often in football and basketball they used to play for the kiit Carson rifle when they were in the whack I would love to see it more we obviously all know majority of you probably remember lud Olsson saying he would never come back to the pit I'll get to that answer real quick and uh very before we wrap things up here uh thought it was a very very there's a mass a spider on my wall right now I hate spiders and flying so there we go that's not cool uh uh gotta play pay some bills and I'll Rick I'll get your thoughts on the question of the night and then talking Adam green and Brett Bar I thought they were fantastic Hydro bar and affordable service affordable solar turquise desert Tap Room much appreciated you guys Steve Garcia mean machine affordable service takes pride in their staff and their commitment to the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho Community Rick before we sign off here I really appreciate appreci uh the Insight by Adam green and Brett Barry um I I don't know I I've done a little bit more research on this this Arizona team I watched them down the stretch last year I think Noah faf is a real deal the the wide receiver T-Mac McMillan uh Toria McMillan which I hope I pronounced his name right is an absolute stud uh what did you take away from that conversation um that it's facing Arizona is going to be a much different challenge for New Mexico than Montana State a much different style I think is going to be coming their way and um it looks like they're loaded at all the skill positions from what we just learned so it's going to be a different kind of game for New Mexico they're going to have to put pressure on faf uh to make him uncomfortable because if he has time it sounds like he has a lot of weapons to distribute the ball to um so I'm a I'm a little bit more nervous after hearing that conversation but I think you know what we're hearing coach mendenall say this week it's more about the Lobos focusing on themselves and trying to hammer down what they're going to excel at this season what the Lobo strengths are going to be rather than you know preparing too much just for one team so um it'll be interesting I think they can cover that spread we'll give you know our full breakdowns later in the week but I'm feeling pretty good about about unm's chances here but Arizona obviously is loaded so it'll be very tough matchup the line is the line is 31 a half I think the over under is 58 58 and a half because of how big the spread is um I fully expect Arizona to come out fast and strike quick with faf and McMillan and the other weapons around him I we haven't kind of touched on the fact that [Music] uh Danny and ales is on this team he's a UNM bred born and bred Valley like I've said Goble gobble gole Goble Goble one of our own gab um I don't know I just wanted to throw out there there's one other ex Lobo on the team shanko matatia a transfer I don't know what position he played but he is also a transfer from us them over there gotcha well they got Bill uh I don't know what I was going to say Rick is I don't think I don't know if there's any animosity towards of from Danny who I absolutely love talking to I know I was very critical of him um but I absolutely loved him as a guy he gave us time he was brutally honest with Ed and I when we had him on on Thursdays last year um I don't know if there's going to be any animosity if he wants to kick the living crap out of his Alma but I know he's a lobo through and through this has probably got to be a very tough game for him and his his family um especially starting a new job and he faces his alma mater and the place that he tried to revive I thought he's I thought he was more animated but um you know it's it's hard I think this is a hard place to win and I think that's one of the reasons I'll use Steve Alfred as an example why he never went back and coached Indiana um but I don't know Brett Barry and Adam green were fantastic to talk to David fresquez whoops where to go uh Ryan the Mean Machine tamori I feel like that was something my group of friends would make fun of me for in high school or middle school but just throwing that out there Rick I'm gonna throw the question of the night before we get out of here where' it go question of the night should youm in Arizona play more often in football and basketball and or what are your thoughts on that yeah I ly remember this as a basketball matchup I believe the last time they played was 2017 with Arizona winning by about 15 points um over New Mexico um at the pit and overall I think basketball record I have here is UNM with 43 wins and Arizona with 85 overall um you know I remember growing up and watching AJ bramlet wear that UFA Jersey and then come back here to play at the pit and that was actually one of more my more memorable games watching so I you know I think it is a great Regional matchup it's too bad that it doesn't occur in basketball um the football games to my memory have always been good of course we've mentioned the one we were at in 2007 and Tucson where the Lobos actually upset Arizona so um I love it man and I I wish they would keep it going in in all sports actually because I think that state-to-state rivalry is really cool yeah they Ed and I were talking about that years ago in the old whack they played for the Kit Carson rifle I think that would be awesome I thought it was really fascinating to see on EA college football 25 when you play the game it's noted as a rivalry game I thought that was fascinating we'll simulate that game God have mercy on our soul here we'll see what happens hey they they're one and0 in our fictional season with a comeback win over with our comeback win over uh uh Montana State um AJ versus Kenny G Danny G good for Rah R rhetoric um I have one comment about Danny G if I'm him I'm coming in and I'm pissed off for this game I mean after what they just put him through and on the UNM side you know they might not be pissed off at Danny G or Little Bill or this other guy that transferred but you know what you always want to beat your friends that's what being a competitor is all about and sometimes you want to beat your friends more than your enemies so bet you dampier and all these guys that played for Coach Gonzalez want to beat him just as bad as you know he's going to want to have a Revenge session against some of his old buddies so he I bet he's fired up even though he might not say it no no I I agree with that you're you're probably correct um I kind of agree with that rhetoric I once again am gonna piss off a lot of people on this show I think Danny's Eddie left I know Dave Williams is still here I had Hur Through the Grapevine that had he not beaten Fresno State he was gone that week again they I will still stick to this we probably won't talk about the 2003 Lobo football season really ever again after this game but I think they're about six seven eight nine 10 penalties away from being six and six um but yeah I I if I'm Danny I'm I'm I'm mad as as all hell I I really am I agree with that and then you've got all those connections you know Ste dampier and Javin Jacobs are from Arizona they played together so that'll be F the Phoenix area Scottdale I believe uh question of the night should UNM and Arizona play more often in football basketball I think so I think it would be fantastic I wish they play Texas Tech more um that would be really a good thing for for UNM uh keeping those old Regional rivalries together and I think I stole somebody's Thunder Ronnie Chavez UNM should play against Colorado Utah U OFA ASU and Texas Tech more often region rivalries R not maybe a four Cur Corners tournament going would be really cool I actually really like that idea Ronnie Chavez with a prediction for the game 4224 um I'd be really happy with that um that'd be cool uh I guess if they if they cover if they covered which I'm not going to take all right uh I again I want to thank our sponsors we're going to jump off here our sponsors Hydro bar affordable service the pit press why am I reading that the pit press life preparation can separate you from mediocre competitors that don't do that and so yeah the attention to detail I think drives the execution or should I say brings the execution to life especially in critical moments o [Music] [Music] [Music]
