hi guys how have you all been welcome back to my channel my name is Paul Keith now since first season is around the corner I thought it would be a great idea to give you people some unique and easy tips to win any debate competition now if you're wondering why should you listen to me fair enough well I've taken part in a lot of debate competition ever since I was in school and college and I've met a lot of participants talk to them about how they perform so good and their strategies and I've assimilated them together and I will be putting that out today in this video and I've also been fortunate enough to win some debate competitions using these tips so I'm sure they'll help you so without any further ado let's get straight in the video tip number one use the ABC which is the attractive bold and clear rule so that's why it's always exquisite to start your debate competition with a quote or with a very bold and a strong statement let's suppose you're speaking in favor of the topic women empowerment for instance you start your speech as hi my name is Paul Kate and today I stand here in front of you all presenting my views for the motion blah blah blah but when you start your speech with a quotation which is strong for example the next time you tell women that they belong to the kitchen remember that's whether neither hello everybody this is full get and today I stand over here to present my views in favor of the topic women empowerment remember when you start off with a quotation it gives a great first impression to the judges and to the audience's the judges are about to listen to about 40 to 50 people you have got to give them something which makes you very unique and once you start off with a great quotation which is attractive which is bold and which is very clear to comprehend the judges are most likely to listen to your entire speech wholeheartedly and the audience will be all ears to what you're about to say hence the chances of your winning gets modified number to go with a flow now I've seen a lot of people in debate and speeches that they start off with a particular example or a particular scenario and without even completing that they jump onto the next scenario and so it's very important to go with the flow when you talk about debate competition and make sure that you only start the next statement when you are done with the previous one now here's a perfect formula to use in any debate competition number one start to the quotation number two address the people present over there address the judges address the audience's address the chief guest number three introduce yourself and mention if you are in favor or against the topic before mention your points mention your opinion and make sure that you back it up with a lot of data when you use a lot of data the audience's and the judges know that they can trust you and you're able to persuade them at a great level and remember debate is about persuading people to believe your opinion even when they don't and finally conclude your speech and your conclude it with a great bold statement the next point which is very important in a debate competition is to maintain the eye contact you have to make sure that you constantly maintain the eye contact with the audience's but majorly with the judges because after all they're the ones giving you points and the ones who decide if you win or not so make sure that you use your eye contact make it 70/30 70% with the judges and 30% with the audience's the next point about the vocabulary use the vocabulary which is good use the words which are good but not very complex you wanna make sure that you use about five to six words which are catchy and you need but do not go all supercalifragilisticexpialidocious over there because in the and you want people and the judges to understand what you're saying it's not important that all the words are known by the judges so you want to make sure that to use some words some fancy words the sounds absolutely good but do not overdo it after all some sugar will taste nice but a lot of sugar now so that's why make sure that you don't overuse fancy and big words in your speech competition very final tip mera practice at least five times before going on the stage I have incorporated this myself when you practice minimum five times you are less likely to make any single mistake over there for example you might forget something while speaking so once you've practiced already in front of the mirror you know that if in case you forget something you don't have to take a pause Enrico but you just have to go on with whatever comes in your mind so make sure that you made a practice at least five times and do not both personal over there because once you tend to go personal you tend to become emotional as well so that is something that you should not do in a debate competition and in any speech competition if you're speaking for a topic women empowerment and you in your family has seen something which is very much personal to you and you believe it's very important you should make sure that you do not get emotional over there try to generalize a personal point and then present it over there so I think that this this if you follow these formula I'm sure that she will give you a best shot in a debate competition and with few practices you will be able to win a lot of debate competitions and you will gain a lot of confidence to speak publicly so yeah if you like this video make sure that you share
