what's up everybody Paul here from the Hoops crew to go through the round six nomination for enough of the week and this week it is none other than Jeremy finlon now it's not the first time that I've spoken about this imbecile in the last couple of weeks in fact I put together a full video there where I kind of explored the penalty and what he received the the fact that it was kind of between Claro's zero weeks and just a fine a suspended fine and tex Walker six weeks for his racist comments um and how it was probably kind of The Sweet Spot now I'm coming to realize after his stupidity of this week that three weeks probably wasn't enough um so Jeremy was on his wife's podcast this week and I guess I want to take a moment quickly to acknowledge you know the challenges that his family faces his wife um has been battling cancer for some time and that obviously puts a lot of strain on the family and and they've got young kids and like there's lots of stresses and so I that maybe maybe when you're when you're with your partner you're more likely to relax a little bit and say things that you shouldn't um regards whether it's on a podcast or not and he might have well had one of those moments when he said on his wife's podcast during a segment of the show called The Good the Bad and the offensive he was asked about what his offensive quote unquote was for the week and he said my offensive is it pissed me off that I got a 3 we suspension that's that's it that's Tipp me over the edge that's about it we'll leave it there and I'll move on now I think it's at the moment that uh at that moment he realized he said too much already the episode went live to air it's been pulled down since I don't know if it's been reuploaded since but I think there was a there was a penny drop moment you know we'll leave there and we'll move on he realized he said too much Jeremy you c three weeks for saying something dumb and then you double down on the stupidity by making further comments complaining about the consequence you got for being a homophobic POS mate just shut up don't make it worse don't dig deeper and so he then went on to address it and so I've got the afl's article here uh he issued a statement VI via the club's channels um where he said the comments were in reference to his own behavior not the actions of the AFL in Banning him when re think my comments today it's clear that I should have provided more context he said on reflection I should have explained that I was bitterly disappointed that I said what I did during the game and I'm I'm bitterly disappointed that I put myself in the club in the position I did that's what I'm most upset with what I said on the field that night was totally unacceptable I knew that at the time and I know it now I stress I have no issue with the sanction at all [ __ ] but um the one thing that I'll continue to applaud Jeremy for and whether it was because he knew there was a consequence coming or not only Jeremy can know was the fact that he selfreported he made the comments during I believe the third quarter of that that Port Adela Esson game and he went and self-reported himself um and spoke about what he did and con of got in front of it and I really think that was a a wonderfully wonderfully powerful and smart act that he um made there like he he he did the right thing despite having done the wrong thing prior but what he's done since with comments like like in the podcast this week um highlight that maybe maybe it wasn't him necessarily trying to do the right thing by society and by the game by the AFL rather he wanted to do right by himself and try and bring down the the penalty he was going to face I'll note that when did his initial um speech he wasn't wearing Port Adela colors there was nothing to indicate that he was kind of representing the club he was representing himself and the club has only kind of been more involved more recently since the consequen has been dished out and since he's made these these further comments Jeremy finlon if you're watching and listening firstly I've got your name right since we recorded since I recorded last yay me second of all shut your mouth you've done the wrong thing you got yourself into trouble by opening your big mouth in the first place shut it now so you don't get yourself in any further trouble it's just that simple you're a brilliant footballer you got lots of talent you're really valuable to Port La football club and your team is going to be making one H an incredible run at Premiership this year once again and I'm not opposed to your team winning it either you know as long as jalong if jong's not going to I'm not I'm not going to complain if Port wins but doing everything you can to jeopardize your Club season due to stupid comments so right now you need to put your head in the sand cop your weeks cop them quietly return to the team when that time is up and let your football do the talking again because right now your comments on podcasts your comments uh for the Press they're not working for you so learn when to quit be quiet and stop being enough that's enough of the week for this week round six I'm sure there's plenty of other you know very worthy nominees but as of when this episode goes live I'm in Tasmania so I haven't had the full bread of the round itself to be able to speak to I've been able to speak really just to the events of the night and the fact that as I record this the Bulldogs are pantsing St kilder football club you could maybe pick Ross in the St kilder football club to be the enough this week but I wanted to get more specific I wanted to get a bit more on the nose with the with the subject matter so Jeremy fin L you're a clown you're enough you're the enough of the week
