Nicole Kidman REVEALS Taylor Swift Connection to ‘Perfect Couple’ Dance (Exclusive)

You' been on the Go in different time zones in different countries we just came from London yes uh where we did the world premiere prior to that yeah I was in Venice but with a different yeah different project project yeah so I find that any couple that's labeled perfect is labeled that way from someone on the outside that's looking in and it's their perception of that couple y'all not really seem to be that perfect in this project how do you describe Perfection non-existent you know we were just talking about it and I think whenever you see and it's really appropriate for this show whenever you see perfect be careful whenever you see something that is perfect probably a cautionary tale yeah I don't think this one is very much so how would you describe this series this is meant to lure you I think the title of the perfect couple is actually meant to lure you in so um hopefully that's what it does and then it takes you on a wild ride it really does that's what we hope and makes you laugh it's fun great it's seductive mhm it keeps you on the edge of your seat and it really does draw you in cuz you're like who are these people you know and what are they hiding yeah and why does she stay with him and she knows what's going on or does she really know all of it those are great questions mhm yeah yeah why does she stay and they will be answered why do you why does she stay cuz because they're they're great together and I think she they stay together because they really know each other and the um and her ability but there's definitely questions as to whether she will stay yes um I make some bold moves that that um challenge him whether he's going to stay right yeah I think they also they share some they share some pathologies too I think uh that are sort of built into the the show that will come out what do you love about this guy that was the trick when I first read him I was like what gez what do I like about this person he's pretty horrible um but he's not but also I like those extremes I like that Duality it's fun you know it's the nature of drama as conflict and so if you pitch something in One Direction go explore it in its you know op in its opposite in it in its polar opposite and so for me if someone's that horrible in One Direction they've got to be really great in another and I think one of the things that we came up with was it was counterintuitive but that there was great depth and heat in this relationship and it had gone through a lot over time and how do you make it through all of those things if you don't share some kind of passion and uh share some kind of um joint narrative and I I don't want to say too much because so much of that comes out in the end of the show unravels uh it unravels over the course of time but that's really intimate to go through all of those things together and they have a dance yeah as couples do where you know you never know why people stay together they know yeah but um if you stand on the outside and you try to come up with but I always say that about couples which is why you don't meddle in people's relationships because you actually never know why they're what they're really doing and how they get through and you know that's why they reminded me of the MC beths a little bit because they absorb each other's sins that's good that's a great reference my my grandmother would tell me that growing up she would say you are not she would tell us you know don't have any opinions about anybody's relationship because you're not in anybody's relationship my grandma was from New Orleans and she would say it in her you don't know nobody is doing you're not in that relationship and it's true people think they know but we don't really really know only the couple knows that dance and that's apparent through the whole show cuz all the couplings in this you're sort of like what why huh and as that gets as the layers get peeled back you things get revealed can I tell you something that I always enjoy is when you get to dance a little bit you get to bus to move a little bit and we got to see that I always think it's fun to see you do that because we see how important dance is to everyone it's believe everyone asks us I'm a dancer I started at musical theater so like I have such an appreciation for it and it's fun I'm with you yeah yeah I'm with you but the dance is you know on top of that you've always got to be dancing as your who you are in as the character so I think we all dance on that beach as the character so and it's really fun to see and tag is and I love to dance yeah the entire cast when when Susanna sent this to us and sent us the car the entire cast was like no I was the only was like yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah everyone else went no I'm not going to be doing it no no I really don't feel that it's appropriate for my character Susanna ignored all of us and uh but he's the only one that apparently didn't call her and say no I knew that for my kids to see me doing something like a Tik Tock dance would be amazing what they say I would score they haven't seen it yet I can't wait yeah I mean I knew cuz I saw you dancing at the arys tour you and Kei so like I knew you could have we had tyor Swift dances in on that beig you danced right you trained for what for that yeah but I learned that on the spot all right but you have some in background yes yes yes I started in ballet and then I grew Too Tall me too they told me did you yeah you started in ballet yeah six years and they said you were too tall no I just realized I didn't really like it there's always that six years yeah that's amazing you're a little kid you know my mom wanted me to be a dancer and one day you were like no you let her down I was more interested in the bass clarinet and and you know football and things like that yeah it was hard he nites hard knocks man that show you know hard knock the show yeah I like that I just throw that in there if we're talking football I have one more question for you what did you love about Greer uh that it's something I haven't done before and that I got to work with leav and that I got to um that it's funny and aurbic and unexpected and um I'm always looking for new territory yeah you're like a chameleon you are cuz over the years you know even like I love with accents I mean so many things I don't think there's anything you can't do I like that she was British too yeah [Music]
