South Carolina Gamecock football expectations game 1

what's up Gamecock fans and Friends of the you rooster man my subscriber base want to thank all of you again for uh subscribing to the channel been a tremendous tremendous growth uh here just before the season for the channel and I am estatic about the way things are going want to talk a little bit about expectations today uh game one South Carolina versus ODU um what type of expectations do we have for South Carolina how will they perform at home um individual expectations do we expect certain players to have a great first game um and just kind of show off show out what kind of stats we'll go through some players and talk about what type of stats offensively and defensively do we think and I'm going to group this together as far as running passing uh looking at the groups of guys uh defensively uh talk about the guys there um but expectations ODU we heard the coaches talk about it they kind of do the Tennessee style offense very quick moving wide receiver uh option routes um so South Carolina's going to really have to just pay attention to Tempo they should be kind of used to this after playing against Tennessee as much as we have and Josh hypo um so I don't think there'll be a whole lot of surprises when it comes to the tempo I know it's the first game of the year I know it's at the hottest part of the day in South Carolina cuz I grew up in the swamps of Orangeburg South Carolina so it's hot it's going to be humid uh first game get the Jitters out get in um don't make mistakes these are all things that you see in first games turnovers uh sloppiness uh remember South Carolina last year started against North Carolina did not turn out to be a good football game the offensive line struggle gave up a bunch of sacks Rattler was on the run all day that is not the way you want to start your season so what is what what's the expectations what do we expect out of South Carolina this year what improvements do we expect to see and is it going to be improved I think for fans the anxious things that South Carolina fans really want to see is how well the offensive line plays okay you're playing a less of opponent will this week even improve if the offensive Line's improved until you get to Kentucky I guess if you don't see the mistakes right no false starts um don't turn the ball over the block you know what I'm saying don't let them put a bunch of pass rush on Lenoris um you can notice some offensive line Improvement I don't know if this is the game that where we're going to really know but this is a good game for the offensive line to Jael together get used to playing in games together not just scrimmages and practice um I think the next big expectation is how will Lenor Sellers play um is he going to look shook is he going to be very confident in what he does is he going to know the play book can he execute uh the way you want to see him execute I I said o Dominion they do have a great linebacker uh I don't know how their defense kind of shifts around or or what type guys they have I really don't um I haven't done a deep dive into Old Dominion to be honest with you um been focusing more on the bigger teams in the bigger games but Old Dominion could be a scary you know they've gone into these situations before and beat power four football teams now this is only their second ever SEC game and they played Vanderbilt one time and VY won the game but those players aren't around anymore this is this year's team how good is is Old Dominion you know we don't know we don't even know how good South Carolina is at this point we hope as South Carolina fans that everything that has been told to us and has come through and some things that we have seen uh in Fall Camp come to fruition that these guys are improved and are much better and much deeper at all the positions on the field um so I think the excitement of course is Lenor sillers what would you some stats on Lenor if Lenor does this you're gonna feel really good about the future of South Carolina and him at the quarterback position where does he need to get to be is it 250 yards passing add in another 50 plus yards of rushing get over a little over 300 yards of offense uh for Lenor sellers uh throw in maybe two touchdowns or something like that a passing touchdown maybe a rushing touchdown does he have to score or does South Carolina just need to score as a a hole that you guys will make you guys feel confident about him running offense at a young at a young age right young guy still um running back should be we've gone on this to fab five Fab I mean almost six guys uh we don't know how much we'll see of each other we know rocket will be starting what is our expectations from Rocket game one um depending on where the score does how much does Rocket play in game one um I guess that would be a coaching conversation in a hard pill rocket wants to play he wants to get back to where he was a couple years ago has to prove to himself that he's healthy and he can do it um and he also it's a it's a draft year right he's a senior so how much does he play in this game I think the score will dictate that if ODU is hanging in there with South Carolina I think think you'll see him more often um and maybe through the whole game I just I don't know if that position with him is something uh I don't think you don't need to work overwork him with too many handoffs because you have some other guys behind him that you also want to see ingame action and how they react how uh the offense works for those guys so I would I do think we see a good rotation of running back um at different times and like Beamer said it's a package thing depending on what the package is going on the field is will depend on the players that's on the field uh how does the wide receiver core another big question um you know for me if rocket Sanders is is depending on how long he plays if he gets somewhere 80 to 100 yards um I I think that's a great first game for him maybe get a touchdown or so in there um but I think 80 to 100 yards probably over 100 yards with a few pass catches is that successful yes Gamecocks offense we all know right a we need to get over the 100 yard to 150 yard rushing so combined the running back room with running maybe a couple wide receiver reverses or sweeps through there you may see some wide receivers get their hands on the ball to add the rushing quarterback rushes um you feel good with Beamer's record over 150 yards rush in South Carolina doesn't lose very often so if you get that rushing game I think somewhere around 200 yards is where I'd like to see at the end of the day I want to see South Carolina be kind of physical be kind of bullish I would like to see them 200 plus yards rushing against a Old Dominion use your mask use your size your guys are supposed to be better they should win one-on-one battles uh passing add in Leno sellers throwing the football add in tight ends Josh Simon Brady hunt Michael Smith uh all these guys Maurice Brown all these guys that have be on the FI in the tight end room how many tight end passes do we see what's the tight end uh what is their roles right what is each guy individually doing how good will they be uh if you look for Success out of the tight end room how many passing yards per game do you think is successful is it 80 to 100 yards out of the tight end room is that what we kind of expect out of those guys maybe but if you think in an overall Outlet of a football game and you pass for like 250 between 250 to 300 yards right in there 80 to 100 yards out of tight end room especially at South Carolina with some questions that on size at wide receiver who's going to step up you could very well see that and like I said you're probably going to see some passing yards to the running backs where does that add in do you have another uh 50 60 70 yards out of the running back catching the ball yards after catch um another kind of stat I look forward to uh see the wide receivers honestly all together uh the things we've heard Dre Jacobs looks like it's him Jared Brown um like we've talked about the it depends on the the set that they come out if it's two tight ends two receivers who walks out in the field first um looks like Gage larven the other guy is going to be your three starters how quick does Nick Harbor come in how quick do we see Delvon Campbell maio B how quick do those guys get in Beamer wouldn't answer that question yet again it depends on what package is going into the game uh on the play call so I think that'll dictate what players you see of course uh that's just nature of the beast when it comes to college football defensively well let's finish up offense real quick before I get into defensively um did offensively what would you take passing I don't think I answered that question I I did it I broke it down in a little bit and then say wide receivers but kind of mentioned in there if you could get 250 to 300 yards passing you add in another 150 200 yards rushing you're around that 450 to 500 Mark total offense would you take that are you satisfied with that do you want to see South Carolina have it more open be a more scoring offense or do you want to see them build more physical use their size their girth use the running backs um how do you think the offense leans is it going to be a true 5050 Rush versus pass is it going to be a 6040 I tend to think it's at least going to be 60% rush to 40% pass um but they could surprise us right we haven't really other than in a few football games and people that's kind of watch some practices and a little bit of scrimmage games we haven't really seen Lenor sell's accuracy right not on a grand scale we've seen what he've done in games he look really good arm strength looks good um but how if you're through the whole game how is his accuracy when it comes to these wide receivers can he get him the ball where they can continue to get yards after the catch um is he throwing right on receivers where they're having to stop is a back shoulder type stuff these are all the things that'll be fun to kind of watch so I do think they kind of let him cut it Loose a little bit but not to be Reckless with it now defensively last year South Carolina one of the worst sack teams uh not ranked very high but when it came to quarterback hits South Carolina's right there right right around number two um so we need to finish right as that tell you we need to finish to play because you're right there you're getting hands on them or you get you know are they getting loose or is it broken tackles what is cting not getting the sacks and I know with a lot of the bigger quarterbacks or some of these guys that are really Elusive and Athletics sometimes you you just miss them right they make a great play you could make a great play they make a better play and the result is more positive for the other team so how many sacks would you say South Carolina has to walk out with on defense Saturday add in sacks add in some quarterback pressures uh hits on the quarterback tackles for a loss what where does South Carolina need to be there defensively in their front seven that you're going to look at uh and say there's Improvement here these new linebackers they're really improved the depth of the defensive line is really improved the defensive in room has depth and it's improved um what will make you feel good maybe four to five sacks uh say another four or five QB hurries do you want to do you want us to put him on run all day how many licks do you get on the quarterback don't be too dangerous with it they don't need to after uh any types of penalties and stuff for after play stuff late hits on the quarterback those are killers but um third down conversions what you're giving up on first down is that another stat we need to be holding them under three yards on first down or your average you know what I'm saying you want to make them if their average is third and seven you need it on your side of that area do we see that how's the tackling um are guys really getting Good Hits on are they trying to St the ball and not making a good tackle turnovers are always important for defenses too so what would be your stat line say South Carolina goes out they get in five four to five sacks um another four or five tackles for loss add in some quarterback pressures seven or eight of those guys just making the quarterback move and get out um what what do you guys as fans put it in the comments section if you don't mind what would make you happy defensively is it uh how many pass breakups we have um do you look for interceptions if you don't get one or two interceptions this game does it make you feel not so good about the defensive back room um but pressure a lot of times helps with those turnovers quarterback flush makes a bad throw just too big a hurry um so that's gonna all that dictates each other we all know that when it comes to football one thing helps dictate every dictate to everyone else uh their success so anxious things I want to see um expectations I don't know if I'm putting a ton of expectations on this like it's the first game of the year you can't go out there and say all right I want to see L nor sellers in the South Carolina offense have 600 yards of offense uh 10 sacks and all I'm not going to put those type of expectations till I see kind of how these guys do play together it's all brand new for us a lot of brand new players uh Young quarterback the old man defensive interior on defense defensive back room I feel pretty secure about but we saw last year they needed some improvement too how have they improved let's look at the kids how well the kids have improved uh even the wide receivers or whatever the routes that they run uh hanging on to the football drop passes these types of things were a lot of things that uh really hurt South Carolina last year and it hurt us in some situations that I think really cost us from being competitive or winning football games uh the Florida comes to example Clemson if we could have just got anything generated on offense uh defense played very well against Clemson these are little things that I think we all want to see Improvement on and this is what's going going to cuz everyone wants to put Beamer in the hot seat right uh five and a half is what Vegas is saying uh Beamer needs to get the six or seven wins a lot of people out there feel he needs to be on the hot seat or let go um do you think that where do you think Beamer has to get to this year record-wise for you to consider it successful and for to try to bring him back I'm not for Shane Beamer getting fired I think we have just gotten to a point off of a rebuild from a coach getting fired and if you get rid of beamer right now you are only creating the next rebuild and do you want to go through that for another three to four years because do you think there's a coach that's going to go out there and then all of a sudden bring in one of these transfer portal Florida State teams from last year or what Old Miss is supposed to be this year from the transfer pum we'll see how that works out for Old Miss um I just hope we kick the out of them y'all want me to be honest and excuse uh the SW word but anyway you guys give me your takes some stats some real key things that you're looking for uh South Carolina in game one just give me some key things that you're going to be watching for um like I said that I'm going be trying to watch for everything but I may miss something you know you guys may see something in the in the game and come back and tell me hey man this happened at such and such time in during the game did you see that and maybe I didn't see it but you guys saw it and you have an opinion on it so always drop comments um I love it uh YouTube loves the thumbs up so do I it makes me feel like people are engaged with the channel when they don't have time to to do the research on it uh when it comes to one of our opponents I because I did I have my um South Carolina preview and prediction video uh I thought was a really good one kind of went in depth on every opponent except the smaller teams I'll be honest with you I really just didn't and it wasn't out of disrespect and I really didn't go into Vandy that much um I did because I do know a little bit about Vandy but they lost so much man they try to dig in Vandy and know what they're going to be when you have no returning quarterback no returning wide receivers realistically that had any starting time but outside of that I didn't do a Clemson South Carolina prediction did predict us to lose to Clemson but the more and more I I I got to see Clemson play the more and more this team is getting talked about the more and more I'm I'm starting to wonder if Clemson is going to be a good football team or not um I just that's my opinion anyway I they beat us last year didn't score offensive touchdown and now they think they're all of a sudden a college football playoff Juggernaut or something the way the Tater mans are talking but we'll see how that goes anyway appreciate you guys uh like I said just just purely humble and thankful uh the more you guys make comments and the more you hit the thumbs up the more people you generate it just makes me more appreciative uh for
