welcome to Dancing with the Stars did you ever think that this could be a possibility for you no that was the last one on my list really how did the call come down was it immediate yes are you nervous um well I had to ask the permission for the authorities for ice to um yeah give me permission to travel out of state and that took a bit so and uh yeah and you still have to wear the ankle monitor oh yeah that's still here are you going to be Bing it for Dancing With the Stars that's going to be as yeah no I literally brought my whole kit with me we're going to rhinestone that sucker you cannot walk in that Ballroom without getting glitter so it's it's bound to happen with and you'll have to wear it during the competition yeah of course she made International headlines as a convicted felon you think you know me but you don't how are they able to make it work you got the permission how long did it take to get the permission from about 10 days I would say yeah and so you'll be able to travel to California to compete yes and are you officially still on house arrest with the exception of this exemption now I um my house arrest got loosened I think the first week of August so I am allowed to travel anywhere within New York and anywhere within 75 miles of my booked residence okay with the exception of I'm California they're allowing you to do that yeah so how does it feel I mean you've been under house AR us for quite some time and that's presented itself to be very isolating I would assume so how does it feel to then be thrust into something so public Like Dancing with the Stars on a weekly basis to a national and international audience actually miss being on house arrest because I now have to commute and people don't come to me anymore so you kind of Miss house arrest and that but are you at all intimidated or or nervous I mean what's the worst that can happen they're I'm going to arrest me for dancing badly we'll just see how good you do girl I know how are Anna's dance skills she's picking up pretty good I have to say I'm quite shocked I'm quite shocked but you're going to have to stay tuned and see how she actually does so did you have any natural dance ability going into this or had you taken dance lessons in the past I haven't had dance look in 20 years I danced a little bit when I was little well this one has a lot of experience and congratulations are in order for you because now you are officially a pro I mean how does it feel able to have a partner this Seas it's like so unreal like literally and when I heard it was Anna I was running on the treadmill and I almost fell off I like trip and I was like what I was say what was your reaction when you heard your partner was I was shocked and I told the casting director you are brilliant at your job this is going to be so amazing for me um but it's just been my dream ever since I was a little kid and every Ever every single day ever since then it's been a dream come true so I'm just so excited to be here that is awesome you are living your dream right now sure and a lot of people think they know your story at times you've been able to tell your story what side of your story what version of your story are you going to Showcase here on Dancing With the Stars this season uh it's going to be my dancing story but you know we they really do dive into people personal lives and they want to unearth things that we we've never learned so what are you hoping folks that know it's going to get deep an yeah she like she didn't realize how many questions there are in those interview processes yeah get ready for it every week you're going to be doing this I will be surprised I guess yeah yeah now a lot of people were surprised to hear that you were being cast this season for Dancing With the Stars but what cast members surprised you most God I I need all of them I don't know was there anyone in particular that was kind of stood out to you or that you were looking forward to meeting Eric I love Eric Roberts yeah yeah awesome he has no idea who I am he doesn't care I don't know if he knows you anyone all right well have fun congratulations you deserve it this season so good luck getting all the choreography down and have fun thank you they ain't ready girl I know you are ready [Music]
