so why is there a class action lawsuit against General Motors for its Transmissions well on August 28th 2024 the federal appeals court decided to allow a class action lawsuit to go forward against General Motors and the lawsuit alleges that GM violated the laws of 26 US states by knowingly selling several hundred th000 cars trucks and SVS with faulty Transmissions so this lawsuit is kind of big it involves Cadillac Chevrolet GMC vehicles equipped with a transmission that's either a 8 l45 or it's an 8l 90 these are 8-speed Transmissions automatic transmissions and they were sold between the years of 2015 all the way through 2019 model years so what it's about is the drivers of these vehicles say their vehicles shutter and they shake and higher gears they hesitate they Lurch and lower gears even after repair attempts and apparently GM's being accused of telling dealers to provide assurances to the customers that the uh weird shifts were normal so the GM litigation covers about 800,000 vehicles and they include the Cadillac CTS the ct6 the Escalade the Chevy Camaro Colorado Corvette Silverado GMC's Canyon Sierra and Yukon among other others so there's a lot of vehicles involved in this class action lawsuit um the federal Circuit Judge in this one is Karen Nelson Moore and she said quote exactly how and to what extent each of the individual plaintiffs experienced a shutter or shift quality issue is irrelevant end quote to whether GM concealed known defects and whether drivers would have found the information material when they went to go and purchase their vehicles so if you think you've got a vehicle that might be involved in this you want to check out the case uh it's called spearly versus General Motors LLC it's in the 6 the US circuit and I will drop a link down below for you to check out
