DPD is also looking for whoever assaulted a woman downtown, an attack that seems to have been completely unprovoked tonight. W FA S Richard Solomon is live in downtown Dallas and police now have a bit of a clear idea of who they're looking for. Richard. Well, yeah, Teresa, we just learned from Dallas police about an hour or so ago. They were searching for a man in this investigation and look, they described this as an aggravated assault but that video we showed it to folks around town today. They described that to me as an unprovoked attack. It happened in broad daylight. That's not right. I think somebody's not doing their job, right? Dallas police say a woman attacked by a man from behind Thursday afternoon and you can't trust nobody. Nowadays, these are new surveillance photos given to us by Dallas police and they show a better image of the man they're searching for in this video given to us by downtown Dallas Inc. You can see a woman standing at a crosswalk at the top right of your screen. Moments later, a man suddenly runs up behind her and hits her with something knocking her to the ground, he crosses the street like nothing happened. Yeah, I mean, I wouldn't walk out here alone. Honestly, I would definitely want at least one or two of my friends to go with me somewhere in downtown Dallas Inc is a nonprofit organization that works to promote a safe downtown. The president and Ceo Jennifer Scripps said in his statement, part nearby downtown Dallas Inc security officers were on scene moments after it happened later saying in part, we have zero tolerance for violent crime violence that's not welcomed by the city's residents either. I think it's getting worse. You know what I mean? It's crazy, man. I think we need more positivity in the world.
