First half of Chicago Sky vs Minnesota Lynx Watch Along

all right we are heading over to the Chicago Sky versus the Minnesota links in Minnesota so this is a very tough game we just watched this game uh the sun are up six Against The Storm with 30 seconds left but the storm just fouled the Sun so they're shooting free throws looks like she made two and they're still only up six so maybe the storm made a shot and then they got fou I don't know um but this game's probably over going to go back to the game cast of this game Chicago's already down 12 to four Gamecast is this the game cast yeah I am watching on the side on WNBA League Pass 24 don't know who that is three almost it is 12 to four so I don't know what this 10 to four is I don't know who 24 is from the Chicago sky but missed a three had a pretty had a pretty good look missed it though ree had a good entry pass to cardoo somehow was a travel even though she dripped or uh she she she she caught an entry pass and was hopping but she like dribbled it she kind of hopped it was it looked weird but she dribbled it so I don't know why they called a travel but whatever it probably was a travel I just they're not showing a replay of it she definitely dribbled it but she did like a weird hop too so I don't know good entry pass good finish by a 24 don't know who that is this uh Gamecast is bugged or slow I don't know cardoo offensive board nice cardoo missed her own shot Miss missed the missed the layup but it was kind of tough she had a defender on her and then it got her o board and made a open wide open layup after that mid-range jumper number 21 on the links oh that's McBride yeah I've seen her she's pretty good it's a good shot from her or oh wait maybe this game I'm actually finally ahead of the Gamecast that would be sick okay I hope I am ahead disgusting Drive good pass to reys and reys finishes the wide open layup it looked like she was going to miss it it was the most unathletic layup I've ever seen she took a step and was like 5 feet away from the basket after she made her step toward the rim it looked weird but it went in reys good pass to the corner entry pass to cardoo cardoo fouled Rees is it looks like the sky are trying something new Rees has been hanging out around the three-point line a little bit this game at least at the start and they're just playing cardoo inside so maybe they're going to go with a strategy to let reys handle the ball maybe a little bit from outside and dribble drive and let cardoo play solo inside the paint not sure but it looks a little different from what we've typically seen cardoo makes both so 16 to 10 now cardoo has at least four and Reese has at least two from what I've seen Carl in a good little mid-range pull-up jumper off the screen here's Reese again at the top of the three-point line oh little high pass but a good catch by her teammate yeah this is weird they're playing Rees at the top of the three-point line they keep kicking it out to Reese at the three-point line and Reese is trying to make entry passes to cardoo so looks different than what they're usually doing um cardoo lowered a shoulder and got a charge unfortunately from the entry pass from on the entry pass from reys cardoo turn lowered to shoulder and got a charge on the defender it's good defense unfortunate for Chicago 18 to1 350 left McBride with the ball from about the free throw line clier good little move step through terrible shot though she didn't she wasn't even close to making that it's pretty good D from reys Chicago kick out to the wing and a three from Dana Evans good shot 18-13 this game was looking ugly right off the bat it was like 14 to four but now it's uh now we're back we got a game 18 to 13 some pick and roll action kick to the corner Carl misses this time she's kind of got a Kelsey Plum look to her just with the brown hair I guess the dark hair I guess the shields there's a little pick and roll action with the Shields and cardoo and shields threw it well over cardoso's head which is impressive cardoso is like 65 right she's 67 so the fact you over threw it over cardoso where she could not reach it is crazy klier gets a mid-range jumper gets an entry pass at the mid-range at mid-range her Defender Falls and for some reason she shoots it instead of dribbling in for a layup for a wide open layup on her Defender that fell to the ground and then she misses the mid jumper crazy you're talking about the shields f flant after elbowing a girl in the nose just now they're talking about the flagrant last Sunday and they're saying well they said it before they mentioned the flagrant but they're saying stuff like that happens on every game it's not always intentional as a basketball play obviously what happened to caylin Clark Friday night was not unintentional so the shields try to pass crosscourt to the corner three um got stolen by the links was not a good pass attempt Dan ekro was gorgeous by the way whoever she done is I've never seen her I don't know who that is but her face she doesn't look familiar but she is injured for the links I think little give and go to McBride in number two hit it to the big kick out to the corner McBride Corner three just off good board by Reese great board by Reese she fought for that one four boards in one quarter that's pretty good oh cardoo fouled again this is weird they are playing Rees outside like the top of the three-point line they are playing a different offensive scheme with Rees and they are they are not playing through Rees Reese's one board from the WNBA alltime record tie and two from the alltime record she will blow through that not even it won't even be close she'll be well well over that record she'll probably reach 500 by the end of the season they got eight games left and she's like a 100 boards away so if she's averaging 12 of games she will break that by the end of the season she'll break she'll break she'll get 500 she'll be close to 500 by the end of the season uh shoot so for five seconds left so technically can be an inbound and a Chuck up for last second shot after these free throws but cardoo is going to have two to shoot cardoo is definitely their second best offensive option behind Kennedy Carter um she just doesn't get shot attempts she gets four or five attempts a game and now she has four attempts in one quarter on 10 points they're figuring it out that Reese is not the number one option on their [ __ ] team she's not even the number two option Kennedy Carter is even though we all hate Kennedy Carter for her dirty play but cardoo is their best player probably but you know when you stat pad for somebody on purpose you're going to take away stats from other people and make them look bad and ruin their career so unfortunately cardoso her rookie season has been kind of ruined by this fake uh Rookie of the Year race obviously not her career people people know she's good so her career will be fine but just got to be frustrating for her season gets ruined because we're stuck in this um non-existent race drama this commercial is so stupid why is your face so dead bro like shushing who are you shushing you're terrible bro you're it away to the other team on a bad pass pick and roll great pass inside and great finish by Mick bride beautiful pass beautiful pick and roll McBride with a great finish inside that was that was some good offense I think this links team is better than both teams we just watched uh Seattle and uh the Connecticut Sun even though I think they're behind the sun in the standings by like one game or something oh I think they're tied actually good take and one by number six no idea but great finish that was a got a yeah she got bodied the whole way cardoo challenged by cardoo got it up and over and made it and won it's a good shot Bridget Carlton this is a girl I said look like Kelsey Plum from from the just based on the ponytail in the hair color makes the free throw 30 to 19 going on a never say that right probably but she found Angel Reese wide open and hit a layup pick and roll action number two pull up three and hits it good shot oh a little shoving oh oh they're going to fight anything it was just they were just well she got uh the sky player gave her a little shove with her elbow but um they were just talking something happened I don't know what happened but yeah I mean the sky girl engaged in the contact and then got mad that she got hit in the nose on the retaliation so clearly nothing happened they're reviewing this for a flagrant or something if anything it's on the sky player she engaged so so what it looks look like this is going to be a nothing call they might call a double Tech or some dumbass [ __ ] but it's nothing this is nothing Sky girl got mad she got a three in her mouth Teresa Weatherspoon is a terrible coach egotistical doesn't know what the [ __ ] she's talking about terrible coach like half the coaches in the WNBA are including Christy sides is it Christy sides is that her name something sides I thought it was Christy sides she's pretty garbage double Tech like I said double Tech like I [ __ ] said man cool it's a nothing it was nothing but they're just calling a double Tech because they feel like they have to call a double Tech it's one of those man keep the game in check literally they're not going to [ __ ] shoot any free throws they just both get a tech nothing happens they keep possession so stupid literally shouldn't have been a like yeah whatever I don't know so weird whatever man in the Reese back to the guard goes up strong misses it feels like Reese is trying to play a well balanced game she's playing around her teammates not for her stats and like she just fought really hard there was a foul on that play but she fought hard for that rebound and she did a little give and go to her teammate she didn't get it and then not give it back and go to work herself she did a little give and go which I don't see much of her I don't watch her that much but the fact that they're playing a different scheme with Angel re Angel Reese is down low now because Cardoza is out of the game but when Cardoza was in the game Angel re was playing more up top and entering enter entry passing to cardoo makes me feel like she is maybe trying to turn a corner and play for her team not for herself as much anymore and part of that might have been a coaching decision I I mean yeah everyone in the WNBA is [ __ ] weird about being petty and making dumb decisions coaching and players like it's just weird ugly possession for the sky and then maybe an uglier possession for the links a pull-up like mid-range jumper was short got a offensive board and then they threw it out of Bounce weird series it's it's weird man like Rees on these types of games so in in this lineup specifically the links are going small and Chicago is going small with them resting cardoo to to because she had a big first quarter she played the whole first quarter they gave her five minutes rest in the second makes sense they're playing small you don't need to play cardoo but when they're playing small Reese needs to be the number one option at least in the paint like if she has good position and the other team's playing a small lineup let her go to work on the 62 63 guard that's guarding her but for some reason I think she's playing a little too passive right right now she's two of two with four points and four boards she needs to be less aggressive when cardoo is in and she needs to be more aggressive like when it comes to scoring and she needs to be more aggressive when cardozo's out that's how it should work in my opinion e e yeah I just want to show something on the on the impact of these game uh of Caitlyn Clark just real quick right ah it's not showing okay well these tickets were 206 now we're 152 which is actually cheaper than it was 2 hours ago which is weird maybe they didn't sell out or something but look at these games in La $5 tickets the in Phoenix n $9 these these tickets were like 36 bucks but it's in Minnesota so if it was in Chicago it would probably be 40 maybe 50 because it's in Reese's Hometown reys entry pass to Cardoza oh she missed the open layup or not open layup it was a post move but she should have made it let's go to Gamecast again but anyway still 150 bucks versus nine crazy even 150 150 versus 40 which this game was 40 is nuts right three three and a half times the price yeah ree just hit a nice little entry pass to cardoo and she missed the little turnaround um turnaround needed a big I think was why they did that but like still he's clearly a better player than reys offensively offensively better than reys CER [ __ ] man what the [ __ ] round one pick six McBride undrafted looks like cool there just cool things to look at I don't know any of these players so that's what happened I hit the inspector or something yeah got some dance cams going on in the stadium oh that guy's got a going on oh oh it's hitting the shimmy this girl is going crazy on a Sunday historic rebounding season out of Angel Reese wow Rees top of the key entry pass to Cardozo again actually she she was more on the wing but nice move by cardoo having a huge game if if Chicago can play like this and obviously they don't have Kennedy Carter which is a huge piece of their offense but if they can play like this going to cardoo as a first option when it comes to in the paint obviously Kenny May Carter is the first option but cardoo a f a quick second option and they can play this great a defense with Angel Reese's a great defense on the other end they could actually be a decent team still don't think they'd ever be better than the fever but they could legitimately be a six or seven seed team if they play discipline drama free all this dumb [ __ ] they keep doing cardoo just blocked McBride or Collier cardoso with her third foul she just clean blocked Collier and they called it a foul damn why are they not challenging that though I guess they knew I guess she knew it wasn't a block looked like a clean block but it must not have been they would have challenged that they would have challenged it if if they were if they were pretty sure it wasn't a foul because it's her third foul so she's already in foul trouble and they're going to keep her in for the rest of this half hoping she doesn't get a foul she's having a big game she's four of six 14 points she needs to be in there heroo kick out to 15 entry to Reese easy layup and she misses it again but she stumbled behind the backboard she came back out from behind the backboard and still got the rebound that fell to the ground when there were three lyns players standing there waiting for the ball to come down not one of them grabbed it at the high point they all let it hit the ground and Angel ree just Dove on the ground and grabbed it what the [ __ ] is going on in the WNBA how bad are these people at rebounding I don't understand great Hustle by Rees I'm not blaming ree at all I'm BL blaming the Three Links players that watched the ball hit the ground in front of their face and not only that it was Three Links players and it was Angel Reese behind the backboard and not a single one of them thought to box Reese out they all were staring at the ball and not one of them grabbed it off the rim I mean obviously they're not going to grab it off the rim they can't dunk but most of them can't dunk but they're not going to literally grab the ball off the rim but they didn't grab it at the high point that they could they literally let the ball hit the ground and reys got it on the ground how is that possible it's disgusting it's just disgusting how bad these people are at rebounding mride with a big three McBride with the ball up top this is not Collier this is McBride kick out to 14 The Plum look alike for three damn big board by Reese nine boards in the first half cardoo blocked from behind on a great entry pass but it was into a triple team she tried to take it up but before she could get extended she got blocked good little floater by number 10 Williams nine-point lead by the links but also again on the on the Reese rebound it's another rebound off her own Miss on a wide open layup she misses the layup and then she hustles and gets the rebound on her own Miss so reys was two of two now she's two of five she's missed three in a row since two of them were wide open layups third one was hard was a was a tough shot I think she was like double teamed she was just grabbing I think she was under the rim with two people on her but she just put it back up sometimes is your best option it just depends but great first quarter from Ree and then a terrible second quarter from her but great rebounding again good rebounds good offensive boards good defensive boards she is playing this game I would say she's actually playing winning basketball she's getting some very meaningful boards her team is just throwing the ball away after she gets the board she gets the board and kicks it out to somebody and then they turn it over it's like okay like what can she do amazing first half from cardoo four OR7 she's missed a couple shots she probably should have made but she's four of seven 14 points you can't complain about that she probably should be six of seven for uh 18 points but can't you you're not going to make everything some of those shots are kind of tough so you're not going to make them all 3932 not the worst it could have been in halftime uh chic I mean yeah it could have been worse but I mean it definitely could have been better for this guy they could have been down by like two going into this half and felt pretty comfortable or wait three they could have been down by like three going into this half and been in a decent position but uh couple missed shots Reese missing a couple easy layups cardoo missing a couple easy post shots they could have been up going into the half I think if they just make easy shots I don't I don't know it's tough who is the tallest I only have four words oh this girl's 65 damn Coler is 61 count it as a forward that's crazy and she is 61 the other forward wow so their biggest person 65 and their other two forwards are 61 McBride 6 foot right 5'11 okay and Williams is 58 okay huh interesting e e e e e e e e yeah so so far I got a good game from cardoo but she's on three fouls but six of six from the free throw line four or seven from the field 14 points pretty good five boards uh reys great great day of rebounding eight boards I thought she had nine boards pretty sure it's a relay air I'm pretty sure she has nine rebounds um two of five she should have made two easy layups but missed them both she should be four five eight points but that's okay happens um not really anybody else doing too much on I guess is that how you say it two three or five nine points not terrible three five three of four from the line pretty good game for her and for the links got two of five from Carlton four of 11 from Kier not the best efficiency from Kier she could have had a better efficiency but she shot like this really bad mid-range jumper that easily she could have just dribbled and taken as a layup because her Defender fell to the ground but she was like whatever I'm just going to shoot the mid shoot the midi she missed it and then McBride four of five so same amount of Mage shots half as many taken shots out of McBride with this with two more points and two or three from three so McBride infinitely more efficient than Collier this game yep that about sums that up and then Williams three a five six points five assists pretty good so we we'll see what happens are are we back yeah she's a terrible coach bro why are you talking about this coach she's one of the worst coaches probably in the league if your coach is so petty that you play and don't play your players based on records they're going to beat like it's crazy you feel so much confidence in your coach in the last five losses all have had and three have been blowouts for e e e e looks like we are starting back up soon is
