Oxford United sign former Birmingham City Forward Siriki Dembélé

C welcome to Oxford United just first of all tell us how pleased you are to get this deal over the line no I'm glad um obviously Oxford Are Back In The Champ now and um no it looks like the club's going somewhere and I'm I'm looking forward to being here what was it about the club that made you want to decide to come here what what was the vision of the club I think uh having spoke to the manager uh and the sporting director um the ideas they have um taken the club somewhere that's that's what kind of got me excited about coming here and you know all about the club hav't played against us a number of times as well what do you what do you feel about the club at the moment we're now in a new division in the championship we're a club that are going places as well is that something that you feel and made you want to sign for the club yeah know I've played against Oxford a few times and um I think obviously now that they're in the championship they've made a lot of signings um it looks exciting to be honest and I think that's that's why have come here yeah you're obviously an attack-minded player can play across a number of positions across the the front line so I can only imagine you want to join a team that wants to play attacking football as well what has a manager told you about your potential role and what he would want from you no of course uh I think he's watched me um and and that's why the interest was there uh which is important for me for someone to like me for the way I play and um that's why I'm looking forward to being here and to to to play and enjoy myself and hopefully uh do something great with a with a club and at 28 you're now I believe s 27 now 27 years old I imagine for a lot of ultra United fans they'll be looking at this is hopefully signing a player at their Peak or approaching their Peak how do you feel that you are at that moment is that something that you would see you that uh I think personally in my mind I'm keep getting better um always trying to improve so yeah uh I'm at a good place so um there's more to come as well yeah and the fans will have watched you play against us a number of times but if there's anybody out there that maybe hasn't watched you play Then describe c b as a footballer um I think you'd be excited to watch me play um I like to to make things happen assists SC I like to also entertain the fans um and enjoy football as as yeah as people like to see yeah and as you didn't come into the club and we in this season the championship what's your what's your ambition C you feel for for what you want to achieve off what I want to achieve is um first of all to help the club you know achieve something good um they've just got promoted number one is stay in the league but not just that to um to put push on to you know to actually compete with the others um that's my that's my goal and on a personal note um when that happens we'll see where where it takes me personally I welcome to Oxford United and we wish you all the best luck I appreciate it thank you very much
