welcome to yman Stadium in New Orleans home to the Dwayne green wve and as this city likes to say let the good times roll and the two- aane fans are certainly ready for that we're really looking forward to this matchup you've got a team that's made its way into the top 25 now trying to pass an important road test as we'll see the number 20 team in the country the Kansas State Wildcats taking on a team from the AAC the two- Lane Green Wave for EA Sports college football Reese Davis with you alongside davidas State about to kick off to get this game started on the run from inside his own five and the returner will be knocked down so toa's return team will have that offense backed up and when you take the field with the confidence the swag that this guy does David it just really elevate your confidence in the passing game receivers don't usually lack confidence and those are the guys that kind of set the tone and that Swagger sets the tone for this offense and Jesse you know he's going to make plays and that speed scares defenses too because he can take the top off quick these safeties better get back deep or else this guy's going to take it to the house the give to the running back from the shotgun and they make the tackle but he has plenty for the first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs right back to the well tackle is made at the 28 after a pickup of three after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven here's the handoff he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple they're going to keep this drive going they'll have to make a play on Third and long from the 26 Thompson wants to throw it's complete on the right side he almost picked up the first down on that one but he'll be just a little bit short Tain forced to send out the punt unit he'll try to really get into this one signals for for the fair Catch and makes it at the 20 so Kansas State's offense will go to work for the first time today one thing to watch can this guy get in the quarterback's head and make him take a peek at the rush David dang skipp me that's what you want to do you want to make this guy a little bit more human and not as much of a game breaker at the quarterback spot get some pressure on and hit him a few times he's one of the best quarterbacks in the country but he can't hurt you if he's laying on his back and this defensive end can put him there often wide out in motion a touch pass on the Jet Sweep runs through the tackle he is stopped behind the line of scrimmage they'll lose yards on that one now looking for that first down on Third and short from the 26 from the gun wants to pass quick completion on the out route he steps out of bounds but he's got a first down on the play the wild cats come to the line with a fresh set of downs looking to go up top on first down catch in the middle it's Swanson and that was some kind of collision between a couple of big bodies there and he stopped from getting the first down the playaction fake trying to get rid of it that pass is incomplete and they might be fortunate it wasn't knock free for a fumble it'll be third down they keep attacking through the air fires to the big fella he gets it over so close to the first down marker but I think he's going to be a touch short K State sends the putt team onto the field ready to boot it away he'll bring it back it's Williams cover guys do their job and they get him stopped at the 22 yd line the Tain offense headed back onto the field that last Drive won't go on the Highlight Reel after ending in a punt they'd like to be more productive this time David and I think this offense has to be a little bit more balance find a little balance between the Run Jesse and working in that pass and I think too David it's just going to take a spark it just takes one play to get this thing picked up and going football you hear the term quit but don't hurt and you can tell when you run these rpos the QBs want to make that decision quick and he I think he hurried it a little bit too much got the ball out quick but obviously was inaccurate in his pass two forced to send out the punt unit this will be the second time they've had to kick it away he will signal for the fair Catch and take it just inside the 35 first down here for the offense hand off to the single back and a pickup of eight opens a world of opportunities on second and two after the good pickup on first down let's see if they keep it on the ground quarterback touch pass on the Jet Sweep they'll stop him at the 46 after a 5yd pickup the offense setting up shop at the 46 first and 10 Johnson wants to throw it and he was looking over the middle and couldn't make the connection and here comes the offense on second down he's looking to throw not quite in Rhythm there incomplete this offense really needs to get something going punt on the opening drive and now a third and 10 coming up and the pass is intercepted ripping through the defense and after the interception he brings it back and gets it inside the 35 not all guys have the ability to to break on the football go make a play and catch it you know you play defense for a reason a lot of the wide receivers the ones that do most of the catching great job by the defense securing the int [Music] Tu has it back in the offense coming out to go on the attack after a punt on their last possession they are set up in plus territory this time and honestly it wouldn't have mattered if this were a touchdown their last possession you've got to be able to turn the page and see this as a brand new opportunity to go get points yeah and your defense has set you up for a position to get points right away now let's get this offense back rolling again create some momentum just get a few first downs and I'm in scoring position inside the 25 they'll snap it from the 24 first down looking to move it through the air fires to the middle all kinds of room to throw that one in there they make the tackle but he's got a fresh set of downs in it's first and goal from the seven wide receiver coming across in motion with jet sweet pass a strong tackle and wrap up from the junior picked up some of what they needed on first down now it's second and goal from the five he'll run it up the middle trying to pick his way to the end zone he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three this defense was put in a difficult spot but they've made it tough and now the off into the house touchdown Greenway well I know it's a very small sample size and we've got a lot of football to go this year but get some SLE how explosive and impressive they look top five in the nation in scoring and you can see why they've got speed and playmakers all over the [Music] field they'll try to add another to their lead and the pat makes it 7even nothing and let's check in with Kevin Connor's in the studio Kevin all right guys want to update you on a game that went final moments ago Clemson was able to finish off a close one in Death Valley today they did just enough both offensively and defensively to Come Away with the dub hey survive and Advance 60 Minutes of football and a convincing outcome and certainly a game with implications far beyond just the standings fellas Kevin thanks a lot for that one sounds as if they had a good one there [Applause] to the ground with the back stacked up after gaining a couple to the 23 offense breaks the Huddle on third down third Johnson looking to throw he's taking the shot fires into traffic it's picked off made that play and was hoping to make another one on the return but they'll take it in business at the 41 well that's the second pick in as many series now for this quarterback but David I I love the defense right now the way they're reading and reacting to all these route Concepts I mean they are all over these guys on the back end all over the field making plays listen you're supposed to see the quarterback break on the football you see seing several breaks on the football your job is to know what the offense does really really well and you can tell this defense is died in and they'll know exactly what this offense wants to accomplish right on target with that last pass now it's second and medium finds the tight end tackle is made but not until he gets the first down as they get set to snap it just about to reach the end of the quarter hand off from the gun and with that stop we are headed toward the end of the first quarter play guys the quarter comes to a close and Tain has the lead here one period in the books and let's take a look at the stats now to see if these guys can get back in the game as we open the second quarter budge formation for these receivers on second down they'll take to the air snagged in the middle it's Williams and a good job of coverage by that defense just a short pickup ball spotted at the 27 there facing a third and long to try to keep their hopes of a touchdown alive the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty on Third and long he'll need to push it downfield pulls it in it's brown and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the stop they'll try to cap off this drive with a field goal and the kicker delivers the three ball to finish off the drive and that will extend their lead even [Music] [Music] [Music] further so after the last Drive ended with a field goal the kickoff team out there to send it away and they thought about a return Then thought better of it they'll bring it out to the 25 and here comes the Kansas State offense back onto the field he'll pull it on the read not a whole lot of room there three yards maybe second and seven Kansas State quick to the line sometimes people say if you're good enough what's a big deal about going on the road well if you're not careful you might find out in a spot like this one guys yeah no doubt about got it this is a hostile environment and you know you're going to be getting the opponent's aame for this one they've circled this one all off seon so they better be ready to bring it today David and the hardest thing to do in college football is to go on the road everything about it changes and you want to shut this crowd up early you don't want to give them belief cuz if it starts to build throughout the game look out and a nice run there before the defense finally makes the stop BRS up [Applause] now they're going to throw it not much of a chance there he just had to get rid of it to avoid the sack that last incomplete pass has him staring at a third and three grab near the marker it's cus good job running that route to get past the sticks because he got nothing after the catch he knew the heat was coming he had to get rid of it in a hurry and he did so beautifully perfectly I don't need a big gain I don't need to hold on to this football because the longer I hold on to it with the blitz coming the worst things are going to happen I just need a few yards for the first down get it out of my hand get the first down give to the back he's there to make the stop great team defense on that one play everybody doing their job people winning their one-on ons D lineman staying in their gaps linebackers and DB's filling you just can't do it better right back to the well he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple this will be the eighth play of the drive but a great opportunity for the defense to get off the field on Third and long he's going to have to throw for it takes a hit as he fires that pass is well off Target he got hit as he was trying to throw and they can't convert on third down and they're running out the kicker to give it a try and it's no good the Miss field goal leaves us with a double digigit game still sitting at [Music] 10 the twain offense headed back onto the field they kicked a field goal on the last Drive Jesse they've got the lead don't make a dumb mistake but maintain your aggressive play calling yeah no doubt I think it's the play caller right now just taking a look at that script he's got in front of him finding out where are my Playmakers who can we take advantage of on this defense to get a touchdown here D yeah and just keep moving the ball down the field just execute a little bit better in the Red Zone there's no need to panic we're moving the football and we got the lead he's got it defense caught out of position and they get down finally at the 38 Here Comes Tain after picking up the first down grab behind the line it's brown and the defense holds firm no pickup at all on that play they'll line up for a second down play second down coming up looks as if they didn't get it off in time it'll be a delay of game delay of game offense [Applause] the offense couldn't get the snap off in time and it'll cost them second down coming [Applause] up Thompson to throw he's got the tight end they bring him down but a solid pick up to put them in position to pick up a first down that last completion still leaving them with a third down throws to the wide out it's caught now now he's got it all the way down to the 21 yd line and they are threatening on first down give to the running back knocked down but not before he crossed into the Red Zone and picked up four yds down to the 17 moving the running back forcing the defense to adjust caught in the back field it's Hughes and a good job in coverage there as stop it after just a few they'll come to the line needing four yards for a first down they're already two for two on this [Applause] drive fires into the end zone and he's got it touchdown GRE way and it's so underrated the the relationship between a QB and a wide receiver the timing the ability to know where he's going to be and be accurate with the football that's what leads to nice touchdowns Jesse well the chemistry between these two guys has to be great when you're throwing into the Z because coverage is going to be tight the throw might not be perfect but this is something these two guys have been repping in practice over and over and over and it's paying dividends now on game and with the extra point they now have a three possession lead at 17 about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown let's see if he can make a play on the return didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 K state has the ball back and the power cat offense returns to the field trailing Now by 17 David this is an opportunity that they need to answer and down by 17 it's not panic mode yet like I know we just gave up some points and our defense hasn't played great I think this offense can still be who they are and stay consistent no doubt lots of football to go but you do get the feeling this is the time of game where you know it could get bad if you don't score and all of a sudden they get the ball back they take it down the field put some points up this thing might be over so absolutely this quarterback he wants to drive this offense down the field and at least put something up and he broke one tackle on the way to a solid pick up there got quite a ways to go to keep this drive going it's third down from the 45 outside the piket lets it go he's got him wide open and they are finding some space in this defense he's got it down to the 25 that's what scary about this offense they've got guys in the perimeter that can change the game in one single play and you saw it right there too much speed on the perimeter to create that explosive play he wants to throw just too much heat that time and they knock him down at the 31 on the play and really good job getting to the quarterback that's priority number one trying to get pressure on him get him to the ground as a bonus they had six sacks in their last game they got to keep building on that number if they want to keep stacking wins first down sack pushes it back now it's second down Johnson wants to throw it finds his tight end how about this backer in pass coverage and bringing the big hit stick with him too we've reached the two-minute warning and this thing has been onesided and they hope to at least have something to feel good about out going into halftime on Third and long doesn't need to take the check down and they finally haul him down but not before the good catch and run and here's the chance to cut into that lead before halftime first and goal snags it and he will score touchdown Kansas State Kansas St and I tell you what that passing touchdown man that should spark this whole team like The Comeback is more more than on now like they got the touchdown they cut into the lead you want to get a stop and go into the half get all the juices all the excitement and be like listen the passing game's rolling we got this The Comebacks in full effect they'll try to tack one more on their score and the P will draw them one point closer and for a quick update let's go to Kevin Connor's in the studio fellas I think at least a portion of your audience will have an interest in the one that just finished up Missouri just wrapped up four quarters worth of dominance on its way to Victory and that's really the standard there in columia that's a tremendous fan base and they'll enjoy this one all week the circle of life in college football where one team moves on feeling like kings and the other heads home licking its wounds how about that sounds as it they had a good ball game there Kevin thanks for the update makes the grab outside it's Preston tackled almost immediately there well short of the first down looking to pass on second down quick strike complete works his way to the 41 and that is plenty to give him a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs they're going to throw it again that's caught it's brown well when you're running the drag route against man coverage like that as a quarterback you got to put the ball out in front of your target when you do that you give the guy a chance to then Advance the football up the field pick up a first down like they did right there this offense has a second down play Thompson wants to throw quickly complete and that defense doesn't allow a cut back and they get him out of bounds after a short game third they'll go to the air on Third and short looking to the big tight end he makes a catch that'll be enough for the first down as they mark it down at the 31 yd line he's looking to throw it got his man down the middle nice completion here to this wide receiver and you're going to see this receiver line up in different spots all over the field all game long defense has got to keep their eye on where this guy is because they know he's a big part of this offensive success he's open on the right defense is there to make the stop but he's got the first down and they'll have it first and goal with the six this offensive scoring position with a fresh set of downs feeling some heat they're setting up the screen touchdown to Lane and they add six more the board with that triple the house I know it's early this season but it's obvious already this guy is a major weapon in this offense had two touchdowns in his first game he's now on the board right now What A Difference Maker and a playmaker he's going to be this season for this offense ling up to tack one more onto that lead and with the extra point they now have a thre possession lead at 17 so they got the touchdown now going to put it in the hands of their defense to finish off this half field it in the end zone it's Edwards I know he thinks he can house every return but sometimes you just have to take a knee as he stopped at the 14 they'll come out on this drive and let it rip fires left got him downfield and they were looking for a chunk play and they got it the explosive picks up more than 30 there's a timeout called as this offense tries to find a way to draw a little closer and that incomplete pass caused by the big hit on first down second down coming just a few seconds remaining here as they try to put something up before halftime caught near the sideline it's Jackson and he'll make his way out of bounds after the solid pickup they started this drive with a big play but now they need a conversion to keep it alive on third down quarterback doing what he does best he can move timeout is called and it's the defense wanting to make sure that everyone's on the same page for this big down just enough time to get off one final play of the half he tosses one high and deep down the left side and here's the third interception of the night and the defender is tackled and that's how we'll run out the first half [Music] we played two quarters here time to go to Kevin Connor in our halftime update guys who's had a better seat there in New Orleans for a fun first half than you the passing game for both sides has been outstanding on point unrelenting they've excelled in the short game the intermediate game and especially on the Deep ball all in all a thrilling display of offensive Firepower and these defenses have a lot to discuss here at halftime and with that let's send it back to the fellas inside yolman stadium he'll bring it back from inside as five and the return man has no place to run no place to hide and a place to be taed and here comes the Kansas State offense back onto the field they'll start the third quarter with the Run solid gain to get him out close to to the 20 pick up of five to the 19 Kansas State pushing the pace Johnson looking to throw fires to the tight end he's brought down at the 29 after a 10yd gain they'll start this one from the 29 on first down they pick up the first down on the drag route I know that seems like a simple route but it's actually a lot more complex oh he's ready to take a shot makes it catch down the right side touchdown Wildcats made the snag and strolled his way into the end zone man that's a play this kid has been running ever since he was seven years old at the park with his best friend throwing him go rats right down the field I'm running by a guy I'm looking back locating the football making the catch and he does it in a big moment here in this game [Applause] he'll try to tack on one more exra and with the extra point every little bit counts as they get closer about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown 24 Kansas State 14 and he takes this from inside the five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 Tain has it back in the offense coming out to go on the attack running behind that left side they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one didn't get much done on that first play of the drive it's second and 11 looking for room it's Hughes they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and the running game has been disastrous on the last couple of plays they'll try to salvage the drive on third third down from the gun wants to pass he lobs one high down the left side well in the first half this offense was up and down the field it seemed like everything they were dialing up was working and here we are in the third quarter and there's a very rare incompletion on their own end of the field maybe that's the play the defense needs now to spark some momentum he's brought down but a really solid effort to pick up every bit of yardage he could on the punt return they've got it first and 10 at the 50 power football with the run I never know if it's grammatically correct to say a team is being out physical you hear it a lot in football though that's happening in this game they are just not getting the push they need all game long up front to have any success when they decide to run it at the 35 he's got Ro ripping through the defense and getting it all the way down to the 24 yd line his offense lines up feeling awfully good after that big play one man in the back field and he gets it he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this [Applause] offense trying to punch it in touchdown Kansas State a Lazarus like comeback is underway great example of how a second half can can really change everything for a team no doubt first half looked bad it looked like it was Bleak it looked like it was ugly but now you're starting to get it turned around that more drives like this is what's needed Pat unit on the field ex point and it's up and good as they draw Just a Touch closer almost ready to kick it away after SC the touchdown 24 Kansas Cate 21 and he'll bring it out of the end zone I know he thinks he can house every return but sometimes you just have to take a knee as he stopped at the 14 the twain offense headed back onto the field they'll try the Run they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one lost one on that last one it's second and 11 Thompson to throw [Applause] fires to the big F and he's a real Nowhere Man tackled in this no game land on Third and long trying to have a big completion here part in the back field it's Williams and he's not going to make it the defense denying him the first down Tain forced to send out the putt unit they'll look to pin him deep here's the return returns like that are why you don't settle for the fair catch if you don't have to picks up just a little bit of yards to help out the [Applause] O so the decision has been made and the coach will take the penalty so the offense keeps this drive alive thanks to the roughing the punter penalty on the ground it's Hughes finding a way to put that foot in the ground get it up to the 37 yd line solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six out of the gun they'll run it inside and the ball is loose and live in the back field oh looks as if the defense got it ball security is so important turnovers lose you games and this guy has put his team in some tough spots he fumbled last week he's fumbled again today K state has the ball back and the powercat offense returns to the field Jesse a very productive Drive last time wound up with a touchdown yeah mixing and matching play calling really well nice balance on that last one dve we'll see what they can do here in this next Drive yeah and I don't expect anything different when you put together a drive like that I would do more of the same keep the pace keep it going it's loose oh look what I found the offense keeps it they recovered their own fumble but now it's third down Johnson wants to throw it and it's his fourth interception of the game bringing it back he's at the 40 running inside the 20 and wide a return as he takes it back to the eight and they were most fortunate to catch up to to him there he almost turned that into a pick six man and he had a convoy too as soon as he had the ball he just looked around him there was just a lot of open graen and he took off great job by his teammates on defense getting down field and setting up some loocks and the sudden change magnified for this defense as it's first and goal he's looking to throw makes the grab he gets it in touchdown Green wi nice throw nice catch and I think we're going to see and hear a lot of that guy to that guy a touchdown catch in game one now a touchdown catch in game two they're going to continue to find that playmaker throughout this [Music] season they'll try to add another to their lead [Applause] and with the extra point they pushed the lead out a little further let's go to the studio now and check in with Kevin Connors Kevin what do you got guys right back to your game after we update the nation on this one Duke came in and applied their own mute button on this gra they silenced one of the most local home field advantages in football and it's clear this Blue Devils team has adopted the Mantra let your play do the talking it's one game you don't want to react too much either way but I think both teams will leave this one with some things to work on moving forward and Kevin Conor's keeping an eye on everything all over the country sounds like they had a good one there he makes the stop almost as soon as he catches it and they're short of the first down third on third down going up top and here's the fifth interception by this quarterback and they'll close in on him after a good turn on the interception defensive backs have tough jobs I mean you think about whether you play nickel whether you play dime whatever it is you put more DBS on the field it's more speed it's more guys that can cover but they also got to cover that ground but to cover the ground and make the Pick A lot of times you don't see that superb effort by that guy to with an opportunity on first and goal Thompson wants to throw and he dropped it it looked for all the world like that would be a catch and he just got too excited defense roll up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming and he really needed to hold on to that one but it was not close and third down is coming they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one getting some heat and the pressure gets there and down he goes at the 18 all right interesting decision for you now how confident are you in your offense you got a big fourth down it is early in the game do you feel like your guys can go out and generate a touchdown or do you want to play it safe and kick the field goal and for the second time tonight they'll Trot out the field goal kicker and he'll try to make it two for two this time from 35 yds away kick is good the offense has three points to show for the drive and now the lead is extended a little fur 34 [Music] Kanas they'll kick it away after putting up a field goal on that last [Applause] Drive he'll start the return inside his spot he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 and here comes the Kansas State offense back onto the field one of the most valuable things a quarterback can have David shortterm memory just forget that last pick you dang right clear the mechanism it's over move it behind you some players can't do that real well and it leads to more mistakes Jesse you got to just forget about it and move on and I think the coaching staff can help him too David I think you can get the running game going here and also give him some easy throws quick pass on the jet motion you'll take this every time five yards on the first down play after trying the running game let's see if they do it again on second down they'll give it to the back they can rely on this guy to pick up solid yardage when they needed and he's out to the 43 if every Journey begins with a step this offense needs to step into a third down conversion and then try to turn it into some scores and fast Kansas state will have to put it away he'll bring it back it's Williams and they'll get him down after the return at the 27 yd line Twain has it back in the offense coming out to go on the attack from the gun the running back looking for room they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one didn't get much done on that first play of the drive it's second and 11 now the play fake and he got smacked just as he released the pass it's incomplete somebody needs to make a play here it's third and long from the 26 throws to the tight end wide open downfield and he was Off to the Races and he gets it to the 45 well how about the offense setting that play up we've seen earlier in the game a couple shorter throws just trying to suck those safeties close to the line of scrimmage anticipating that they would get an opportunity to take a shot they called the perfect play at the perfect time right there can't hang on and he'll tell you he really should have made that catch and he had an opportunity right in the middle it'll be second down makes a grab and he's dragged down and you want to talk about his favorite receiver it might be everybody based on the number of guys getting touches in a chance to show off their hands in the passing game one more period to go to see who can make the winning plays and come home with the victory the marker is at the 35 and they need to get it there to convert third down HS it in and he almost ran away from everybody on that one a huge pick up on that play this two lane offense has a great drive going set in theed from the Red Zone looking for a receiver they'll throw it to the back on the screen makes a man miss he'll get it all the way down to the 8 yd line and the defense is feeling the Heat and if they can find the end zone here that might be all she wrote first and goal this will be picked off maybe just the turning point they needed that's one of the only ways you getting back in this game you had to force a turnover you still got to score twice at least to get back in this ball game to try to win it great stop now it's the offenses turn I need to score and score [Applause] quickly K state has the ball back and the power cat offense returns to the field that last Drive fizzled out Jesse they had to punt it yeah they did and David they're just going to have to do a better job this time around erasing the mental mistakes and just trying to solve the defensive riddle understanding what they're trying to do to you and attack them the give to the back wrestled to the ground after picking up the first down it's first and 10 from the 31 he's going to pass quickly to the tie end didn't pick up aot there moved it Forward just a few now here on second down see if they keep tossing it around Johnson looking to throw he's got his man and he's knocked down immediately Ely but not before he moves the chains Kansas State back at it after picking up the first down used the play fake now to throw and it's another interception as his assault on the record book continues and he's wrapped up after a solid return on the pick it doesn't get any better from your defense you know exactly the situation in the fourth quarter everything in your favor don't let him make big plays how about you make a big play nice job getting the interception it's not icing on the cake yet but it's getting pretty close the dway offense headed back onto the field and boy they missed an opportunity last time throwing that pick in the Red Zone David yeah and you got to put that frustration behind you you can't turn it over that's that's a cardinal sin you know better than that Jesse you can't take points off the board but you got to move on you do I I think he just got way too overeager down in in the red zone that last drive so just come out here trust you read trust what your coaches have told you to do and just go out and exec the off they've got it inside the 30 at the 28 first down thrust that arm out and he's able to bounce off one tackle for a solid pickup 6yd pickup on first down leaves him with second and [Applause] four and that's going to fall to the ground incomplete that was a physical match up there third down coming on the move it's Hughes tackle is made after the first down tane looking to put one on the board from the Red Zone first down let's it fly reels it in in the end zone touchdown Green Wave Sal inter wound right late in the fourth quarter you can run the football run this game out no sir I'm going to continue to pad my stats find my receiver out wide and give me another touchdown and he just continues to put up numbers and that number is now over 300 this guy just throws completions man the ball doesn't seem to touch the ground he's back there he's making the right reads right now he is locked in what this defense is trying to do lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown drive here he comes from inside his own five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 and here comes the Kansas State offense back onto the field throws for the tight end a strike downfield and they'll do more than move the chains they'll move that thing more than 30 yards down the field before he's finally stopped this defense better not blinked I know they've got a lead here in the fourth quarter but just look at who they're going against this quarterback is one of the best in the nation they cannot rest on their Laurels someone's going to have to make a play and he's brought down after a nice game just inside the 40 yd line it's first and 10 from the 39 Johnson wants to throw it fires to the right got his man downfield they make the stop but the sweet throwing catches plenty to give him a first down from the gun running back gets to give determined effort to pick up six and get it inside the Red Zone and down to the 16 got six on first down now a lot of options on second and four caught in the back field it's brown he's close to the first down but they're going to Mark him just a little short really need to pick up this conversion and avoid having to settle for the field goal gets it out fast they make the stop at the two but he's got enough to give them a first and goal new set of downs right on the doorstep for this offense a first down run on the doorstep and to the end zone he goes touchdown wild cats up and over yam be there into the end zone and you don't want to leave your feet very often in football but this is one of those areas where you do in the End Zone near the goal line you smell it a lot of bodies in front of you just get up get over top of them get that touchdown lining up for the pat on for the extra [Applause] point bangs it through for an extra point so an 82 yd drive there and finish the deal with the short touchdown run from the two 2 on the move from inside is five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 Twain has it back in the offense coming out to go on the attack pulls it fire complete building momentum picking up a chunk of yardage moving the chains out to the 34 first down here for the [Applause] offense they'll keep it on the ground trying to milk the clock and this one will be stopped for No Gain they got nothing on the last play it's second and 10 quick completion to the right he's brought down quickly minimal gain there still a bit short of the first down that last run leaves him with a third down will they keep it on the ground Thompson to throw receiver looks it in it's complete he's right out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down this two- Lane offense has a great drive going movement here from the tight end they'll leave it with him and I think they'll give him two on that one second and eight coming up we've reached the two-minute warning and this offense will be quite content just to drain the rest of the time away takes a hand off it's Hughes that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there referee signals timeout it's the defense wanting to make sure that they have everything just right with a big play coming running back searching for a hole he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple defense uses a timeout quickly trying to get that ball back and preserve time for their offense toan forced to send out the punt unit able to keep them from getting a return and the ball goes out of bounds they're going to mark it right around the 20 a first down for the offense they're going to open this drive with a pass and it's incomplete if you're going to take a hit like that you might as well hang on to the ball let's see what they've got on second down he's looking to throw just a short pass to the tight end I know you want to take what the defense gives you but at this point you have to push the ball down field a little more David and that's exactly what the defense want you to do check the football down that's and the pressure was too much they get him at the 15 coach has no choice here the offense has to stay on the field down multiple possessions this late fourth down attempt coming makes the grab and he's got the first and chunk plays are the name of the game and they get one here before the defense finally makes the stop to the air on first down and they couldn't hold off the and he goes down with a sack clock's running and they'll try to get to the line warp speed for second down Johnson looking to throw fires to the middle he's got an open man got a lot of running room he's at the 10 give him six and give them a chance with the late touchdown still alive in this one with the if we had any chance to make this happen we had to score with a little bit of time on the clock now we need a miracle now now we need to kick the onside get an onside kick and somehow someway make a big play now they'll line up for what they hope is automatic and the Pat will draw them one point closer so that score scoring Drive took only six plays just over 50 seconds to go they're trying to pull off a comeback and they'll need to get this onside kick to do it cool as a cucumber as the hands team makes a sure catch running out the clock a mere formality between them and a victory as we have Victory formation coming the quarterback takes a snap and takes a knee the rankings the odds makers everything indicated that these guys had a big hill to climb but they climbed it they got to the top and they get a landmark win and we know coaching staffs always do a great job trying to motivate their own guys and get them ready to play A ranked opponent but David to me it looked like this team just wanted it more they came out they were the more physical team and they did what they had to do at the end of the day to get this win yeah and how do you gain respect you want respect you talk about our team's a really good team you want to build on that you beat good teams that's what you do you beat ranked teams that people think a lot of this team pulls
