NRL 2024 | Rabbitohs v Roosters: Round 27 | Match Preview

[Music] it's one of the biggest rivalry games of the year as SS Take On The Roosters at aore Stadium on Friday I'm Darcy McDonald and with me is a man who knows what these games are like to play in former rabido Josh Manel and Josh regardless of how souths have gone this year they will be desperate to get one over their neighbors with a win to finish their season yeah it's definitely not tolerated to lose against the city roosters being a South City player um you know the fans have high expectations going to this game and I'm sure the players do as well like the Rivalry has been gone back the big since the beginning of time and uh obviously there's a lot of fire in this game um you look at the roosters obviously decimated with a few injuries now similar to the to the rabbito but um yeah a lot to play for pride in particular yeah well The Roosters had a shocking day last Sunday not only losing the game which pushed them out of second spot but they suffered some key injuries including losing halfback Sam Walker to an ACL which will see him not only miss the rest of this year but a big chunk of next year as well yeah I think the microscope will be on the city bru they bounce back from those big injuries um obviously the blueprint this week will be sand Smith going into into the spine position playing half and you also got um Conor Watson slotting at number nine so they it's all all doom and GL for the roosters just here I still feel like they got a roster to do some damage in the finals um they're obviously the best attacking out in the competition so um and I feel like they've got a lot of good players handy players that can feel the void of those P players missing like Victor rley Brandon Smith so yeah microscope definitely on the roosters this week next man up mentality right has to be well it's a club rivalry like no other dating all the way back to 1908 so who gets the win on this occasion don't ask me that because you know who I'm going to pick I can't I have to tip the the buddies but it's going to be obviously up battle but I put on my thinking hat and I put bias aside obviously you have to go to the roosters with the way they're training at the moment and um you know kills me to say that but yeah obviously the Bru's got more to play for than the rabbit so I'll go the roers all right thanks Josh if you want to see this match live head to nrl.com tickets if you can't get to the game you can still watch it on Channel 9 fox tail Sky New Zealand or KO kickoff is at 8:00 p.m.
