(Week 2 NFL Overtime) Wow couldn't believe what happened

now barring any H Jinks on the kickoff here partner I think you and I we're going to settle in for a little overtime and I wouldn't have it any other way this has been a dog fight all through regulation no reason to think it won't continue in the extra period and here in overtime if the team that receives the ball scores a touchdown it's over if they don't we can still have some more football that's exactly right if they go down and kick a field goal the other team gets a possession to either match it or score a touchdown to win the ball game if both teams kick field goals the next team to score wins but if the receiving team throws a pick six or fumbles the ball and gets picked up by the defense and they score the game is over at that point so it's the patriots who will have first crack at it as we're back underway here in overtime and we will not see a return to start overtime it'll come out to the 25 yd line New England's offense set to go I cannot imagine how these players and coaches feel Charles my Palms sweating up here in the booth now as we go to the third Drive of overtime and as we know from here on out any points win this football game I'll throw you a towel as well partner I've got one for myself but let's face it our nerves our pressure nothing compared to what's going on on that field both of the field goal kickers active here early can one of them become the hero and end this thing throwing again on second down Jackson dancing to his left Henry's got it out on the left side and he'll be out of bounds but able to get it up past the 45 they call his number again it's his six catch and a first down little OT scramble drill that time Mr Davis and partner I can tell you from personal experience nothing drives a defense crazier than having things covered and the quarterback takes off and picks up first down or big yardage because whether we in zone or man it's easy to lose track of him because you don't always have someone assigned to him and once he goes now everybody's scrambling to try and Tackle him and a penalty flag comes in as that one winds up incomplete but the contact is going to move the ball well down field obviously they never want to see penalties on that defense but this one a little bit more significant there on the downfield pass play and coaches preach it all the time you can't put yourself in that kind of position if you're the defender you got to stay in a spot far down field where you can play the ball without creating extra contact what a difference in play makes a huge step forward and now a small step back as he loses a yard or two I don't want to overhype it but this is a big early season game especially an overtime win that can give you a big boost going forward in the season certainly can and I don't think you're overhyping it because cliches go out the window when you start to play overtime and you're right the winner of this game now that's an extra boost moving forward and it actually is an extra hurt for the team that loses because normally Jackson hit and he lost the [Applause] football we hear them discuss Red Zone efficiency a lot CD and they almost gave that one up in the Red Zone luckily they'll have another shot and you and I both know that every offensive coordin play caller in the league they take particular Delight in their Red Zone calls because those are the payoff ones but you can't call a play if your team doesn't have the ball got to secure it so danger averted for the moment but now here's a third and long throwing is Jackson That's swung out wide now a loose football the ball comes out and it's scooped up by the Jets [Applause] and he brings it back to the house it's a touchdown and in a crazy inning a defensive score wins it and for the visitors it is going to be a happy flight home it is always such a treat Charles in the NFL when you can go on the road and get a victory and that's exactly what they accomplished here today ah the trip home so much sweeter isn't it all the noise they heard before how tough it is to win on the road how tough it is playing
