Serena Williams father's driving enthusiasm has drawn criticism driving has always been a dear love for Richard Williams the father of tennis stars Serena and Venus Williams he is adamant that he won't give up driving despite dealing with major health concerns recently such as speech and cognitive function issues and a recent interview with the son Richard's son Shava lein provided insights into his father's unwavering passion for driving my dad loves to drive it's his passion he stated he was not going to surrender his license when he fails the test it will be a terrible day for him when Richard was recently pulled over by police on July 12th for speeding in Palm Beach Florida this passion was clearly visible he was fined $131 after being caught speeding in a 35 mph Zone in his brand new silver Volkswagen vehicle although the incident attracted attention Richard did not have to go to court doubts regarding his capacity for safe driving however people close to Richard are worried about his driving Dr Monica Walker his primary care physician voiced concerns regarding his driving safety during his divorce from Lakisha Graham Dr Walker suggested in a court document that Richard refrained from driving because of his deteriorating health and navigational issues the experts stated you have experienced difficulties with driving and directions it is advised that you do not drive as you are incapable of doing so Richard's family feels that his condition has greatly improved despite these warnings Richard is determined to keep driving and he has around 18 months remaining until his driver's license needs to be renewed this kind of tenacity is what helped his daughters become Champion tennis players
