[Music] my name is samis Leonard I'm with the nocturnal and we are joined by an amazing cast for an amazing show I'm GNA go ahead and get right into it and start off with Kim if that's okay sure perfect so Kim you've been on multiple reality TV shows um like real housewives of Atlanta and don't be too tardy I would love to know how these experiences kind of compare to Surreal Life Housewives had some really incredible moments but you know it's a lot of drama a lot of negativity a lot of fighting things that I just wasn't used to and didn't really care to be around um Don't Be Tardy is great you know it's the best job in the world you get paid to film with your family and that's I mean that's the best job ever but in those you know on that show I'm a mom you know I'm still a mom and so I was very guard in some of the things that I said whereas this Sur Real Life I'm totally raw open my authentic self just in a place in my life that's quite trying and I just let it I just you know I took my guard down let I let my guard down um whereas you know the last 14 or 15 years I've been on television I didn't and I haven't just what didn't seem appropriate yeah how did it feel to be able to let your guard down I think that's the that's the big thing you know I have my crew for my show they came from Housewives they've been with me you know my entire 15-year career on Bravo and I knew some of the crew here but to be able to have this l i mean 150 200 people on the crew to have you know I know OT I you know I know Josie's mom but I didn't really know anybody else to be able to let my guard down almost day one I think it was and just be my raw authentic self was pretty incredible and also unusual I remember thinking to myself during the breath work situation I think I even said it out loud like thank you to the crew for just like allowing me to be myself and it just it's very hard for me to kind of um cry or you know I don't like to feel that way and and kind of share my my pain if you will and it was it was really easy to do it with with these seven other people it was really cool very thankful for the experience I love that I'm going to go ahead and move to Josie you know as a model you're used to the spotlight um how do you adjust to the dynamic of living with um other people in The Villa I think going into the experience that was kind of the main thing I didn't know how I'd handle because I'm an only child I don't have that much family nor am I super close with the family that I do have like now we are but the relationship's always a little up and down and um yeah I ended up having the best time I got really lucky to have Ally as my roommate she's a sweetheart and we it was just very cohesive environment for me it worked out bathroom time worked out sleep schedule worked out and I got lucky with that and living with everyone else like it i' kind of refer to it as summer camp because it felt like everyone was just kind of backed living together in summer camp and like sleepovers and eating together I loved it I it made me realize how much I actually do love being around people and you know not just surface level breaking the barriers and seeing people for who they are and what they've been through and seeing everyone's different you know Walk of Life and what what put them in this position I love that um you kind of spoke about your family I would love to touch you know the unique pressure of growing up with a famous family um how did that influence your experience on the show I think there's just an expectation to be something to you know they see your father or your family member mom whatever it is they see you know there's a lot of expectation and pressure to live up to and I think going into that I mean I always get the father reference I always get my name is literally his name with an eye so whether you know him or not you kind of recognize something then you put two and two together and yeah I um it was nice to film with someone else who came from a similar background Chad obviously his dad's Tom Hanks and I think that he also understood you know the pressure of growing up with a dad who was as successful as he was or as mine was and having to live up to that and having all the eyes on you even though you didn't even earn that place yet necessarily you know it's just it's overwhelming at times but we're also very blessed to you know have that foot in the door already because you know I think you do obviously have people looking at you and your name and before you even are ready for it so blessing and a curse um so OT one of my favorite moments was definitely during the breath work activity I feel like you really opened up about how it is to you know Express emotion and how it felt to do that exercise I would love to know what was going through your mind um in that moment and how did you grow from that experience um at the moment I was uh I was in a loss of words I didn't know I didn't know something like that was even like I mean you hear things about that all the time but I never knew that you know that was even possible so um you know being in that experience going through that experience it was um it took a lot of weight off my shoulder and you could actually really feel the release so um you know um you know coming from where I come from and um you know moving off survival you always taught to be the toughest person or you know hide which you know hide you know uh your feelings or you know not be emotional or not you know it's always it's always being tough because it's it's um it's a way that you you take care you take care of yourself and most times we do that or we hurting ourselves you know so um that was one of the one of the I would definitely say one of the greatest moments I've um I've been through like not just but in life you so yeah um I would love to know how are you able to kind of balance the demands of this reality show and your music career I'm sure that was a lot to juggle yeah it was it was um it was tough but I made it happen like I moved some dates back too at the same time because I I um I always wanted to be a part of something um like this but my idea on reality shows were like that's not me you know I I don't want to be the person somebody push over and then now I'm kicked off the show some crazy I never wanted that to be the thing so my idea on reality shows like nah I'm not doing a real sh but I did my background on this and I was like oh this is really dope you know this is um um this has substance you know it means it means a lot so and um I never really told my story I know people have this certain perception about me um and it's another reason why the breath work you know it helped you know I can see if you have that perception about me because it's always like got to be this tough guy but um you actually get to see me you know you get to see other sides of me um chilling in the house with seven like dope people so it's like it's it's it's really cool I love that one thing that I noticed um throughout the interview is kind of like the difference in perspective from media to the public to what you guys really are so I want to do a fun activity and if you could um say who you really are what your perspective of yourself is in one sentence um each of you what would it be and it doesn't have to be super lengthy but yeah take it away Kim take it away I think that about myself I think I have a very big heart I'm very kind um I'm honest I'm authentic and I'm funny you are funny we had a great time um a sentence about who I am I think [Music] I'm yeah just a big lover with a big heart as well very like empathetic towards people and animals and you know everyone's Walk of Life and uh just someone who occasionally feels misunderstood because I'd always rather take the high road and be quiet and anything comes out or happens like I have a habit of just kind of letting that be what it is no matter what it is so than love that that's me too not anymore as for as for me you don't let me talk about myself this is great I think I think I think I have I think I have a great personality a great sense of humor um I think I'm bright I'm Charming I think light shines on me but I have um but I also have um a lot to work on I need I feel like um I've learned so much from this experience that I take I take a little bit of a little bit of it I would say I take like 30% of it to my life now I'm like you know what everything was Co so something bothers me now I go you know what it was a HDE over there about you know what I mean you just try to you know navigate and um and um and see your way out but I feel like I got you know a little bit of work to to do on myself I think we all do um as human beings and um and now I'm able to be comfortable being uncomfortable so I'm learning every day I love that well I really enjoyed my conversation with you guys everyone my name is tamir's Edy with the nocturnal and today we have some of your favorites from The Surreal Life and I'm going to go ahead and just jump right into it how are y'all today good how you doing so good amazing um I'm going to go straight to shed um I watched the first episode and I think that you were super vulnerable about your childhood and you know how Tom Hanks is your dad I wanted to know um how that played a role in your experience in this Surreal Life um well it was just cool getting a chance to uh like like um express myself on such a big platform because like so many times in the media like they've um they've kind of like altered the truth about about like who I am and and kind of Twisted Twisted things so it was just cool getting to like um use my own voice to kind of just share my own experience on such a big platform definitely um kind of picking back off of that who are you like if you could use your own voice who would you say that you are well um the most the the thing that I'm like most passionate about speaking on is like my relationship with God and uh I got a chance to do that so that's what I was uh that was like really fulfilling for me I love that all right so I'm gonna go over to ali um you know you have an amaz hi you have an amazing voice than yes um and we love your incredible journey with fif Fifth Harmony and as a solo artist how did to real life compareed to those different experiences in the music industry I've seen and traveled the world but I have not been on anything like this in real life it um I've been in Colombia before um but I hadn't I wasn't able to see it you know like I was on Surreal Life so being on there it was so different you know you're filmed all the time every waking moment you have um someone to turn to at every second um you have um we had like a private chef and we had literally anything on our fingertips so it was such a cool experience to be able to have all of that and to be able to see more of Colombia and and get to meet amazing people that for me was really fulfilling and I just loved my my experience and being able to show people who I am I love that um I am GNA go ahead and go to Macy next um hi you know your presence is known um and I would love to know what made you decide to join the cast of Sur Real Life uh it was it was uh it just sounded fun you know something I hadn't done before so was a a challenge for me you know see if I could pull it off um and honestly when I got there I really thought I was going to go back home right away because it was you know just not what I'm used to at all so um but it was definitely it was it it was wild you know I did I did stuff that I would never do on my own and um uh meeting everybody was cool living with them was was very interesting you know it was it was it was very Lively it was like you know like crack it was like something going on all the time even when you were asleep cameras were rolling and wake up and everybody's in their draws and Chad and OT walking around in their shorts and you know after they just worked out on sweaty you know so you know it was a lot for a girl but um but we had some really uh really great conversations you know um me and chat talked about something that really um gave me a lot of insight on my own kids and uh I had a really really interesting conversation with Ally you know um uh I don't know anybody like Ally and uh you know Kim is always you know she's always on she always has something to say and it's and it's always interesting you know um uh jie you know it was fun and U me and OT we actually shared a room that was pretty crazy we shared the bathroom but I actually there was like a little public bathroom next door and I kept sneaking in there because you know that's my thing I got to have my own bathroom so I did work that out but um he's such a gentleman you know and and um such a really interesting background and a really great songwriter he was always you know making up rhymes on the set and uh just right off top of his head you know and um Johnny I got to know Johnny really well am I forgetting anybody you guys no right was that everybody um I think so did I say everybody Tyler yeah Tyler me and Tyler we had me and Tyler had talk talked a lot but um U I really got to know Johnny it was it was cool it was just like a you know it was like a chapter it was like something um that we did together and and something that we'll never do again because you can't really you know you can't really duplicate something like that so so it was it was awesome amazing um I would love to know what was you guys' favorite challenges and what's like your biggest takeaway from the show we can't really reveal all of the challenges yet but I would say in the opening you saw the breath work right that was interesting that was interesting for me for sure um but yes there's more there's more I'm excited to see the more for sure um I guess um we could do a fun activity I would love to hear your favorite thing about the castmates that are on this call um I know kind of already tapped into it but shett and Ally what's your favorite thing about each other on my favorite thing about is her warmth and her and her and the the strength of her faith my favorite thing about Macy is that little that little that look she does that little she's she her eyes kind of get all all squinty and she's big that's my favorite thing about amazy yes and her yeah and her dry sense of humor yes it dries as a he that's a good thing I Chad is totally right I love mey's dry sense of humor it's so good and I love that she's like she just goes to the flow with life and she has so much wisdom and obviously she's an icon um so I just love that about her that she's so down to earth and humble and like just cool like all around the school and I love um chat like your personality like just the way you talk and and your your sense of humor too is hilarious and then at the same time that moment I had with you about your faith um was something that was so endearing and I love that you can be both you you really can be both thank you Ally yes I love that well it was a pleasure um speaking with you guys um yes really looking forward to the rest of the episodes and yeah have a great day [Music]
