beautiful. Sending it back to you all in the studio. All right. Thank you Stu. So we have some breaking news right now in San Bernardino National Forest this morning, the Lion Fire continues to rage, burning more than 20,000 acres and forcing evacuations in several mountain communities. But firefighters got a little help from a thunderstorm last night. Let's get out to KOCO Mcaboy for an update. Good morning to you. Good morning. The rain definitely did help last night, but the fire is still 0% contained. I want to show you how it looks right now here this morning you can see that the flames are still burning. And there's also lots of smoke here following this firefight. Check out this map. The fire is causing a huge number of evacuations in and around Highland Running Springs and Forest Falls. The yellow area is where the Lion Fire is burning. The greenish area is under evacuation warnings, and the reddish area is under mandatory evacuation. This fire has grown to more than 20,000 acres, and fire crews are working around the clock to protect property and keep the fire from spreading through. The San Bernardino National Forest. 3200 families have evacuated and their homes are threatened, but not a single one has been burned so far. San Bernardino County is now in a state of emergency after a proclamation from Governor Newsom. There are several road closures in place as well. Fire officials say they're hoping to start containing the fire soon, but the conditions have been dangerous. There are a lot of homes threatened, and once we got those residents out, our main priority then became their homes. We want to make sure they're still there when they come home. Families have evacuated and we still have a lot of homes in the warning area. And again, I urge those residents if it's going to take you a while to evacuate, maybe start doing that now and leave early. Yes. Because of all of the evacuations. However, like he said, those homes are threatened, but they have not lost a single home at this time. That's been very important to fire officials, but as you're looking out here live, you can see that the line of fire does continue to burn here in San Bernardino County. We will keep you updated
