A Place in the Sun presenter Johnny iWin previously opened up about how he wanted to spend his final days after receiving his devastating terminal cancer diagnosis Johnny awin's death was announced on Friday after spending three and a half years living with a terminal cancer diagnosis the A Place in the Sun presenter was 50 when he lost his battle leaving behind his wife Jessica and their three young sons in a poignant interview in June 2023 Johnny detailed what his wish was for his final days as he acknowledged it can happen at any time the TV star shared that he wanted to spend the end of his life at his family home rather than in a hospice or hospital he told Hello magazine I really want to be at home and Jess is fine with that and apparently I'll go peacefully when I do go I just require more and more sleep in 2020 following his diagnosis Johnny revealed he and his family moved to Newcastle so they could be closer to Jessica's relatives explaining that he didn't want her to be on her own the escape to the country presenter had continued to work as much as possible throughout his illness but said that he would slow down as his condition progressed he added to the outlet I don't want to spend the last days working when I could be with my family I want to make plans I want to make memories and capture these moments with my family because the reality is my boys are going to grow up not knowing their dad and that breaks my heart Johnny and Jessica married in 2016 and had three boys Rex five and twins Rafa and Cormac free following Johnny's death Jessica shared a heartbreaking message on social media vowing to make him proud as she raises their young Sons alone she wrote in view of her 5,000 Instagram followers the heart hardest day has come a day I prayed wouldn't come I will continue to make you proud but only with your love still finding me and guiding me for the rest of my life me and the boys still need you Johnny you really were the most handsome man I ever knew and I'm so sorry for this cruel end it really wasn't fair and you didn't deserve any of this you gave so much time to others and touched everyone you met I have never experienced anything like the effect you had on people I love you so much and forever proud of you
