what's going on everyone welcome back to another video I'm Michigan Sports Talk here and in this one talk about what to expect from this Michigan offense during the 2024 season as let me tell you I think this offense is being slept on I go over why this offense could be explosive and more explosive in the passing game with Kurt Campbell as offensive coordinator I also go more in depth on Kurt Campbell's coaching career what he brings to the Michigan offense as the offensive coordinator and why this offense could surprise a lot of people this upcoming season it's all going to be in this video so let's go ahead and get right into [Music] [Music] it all right so today I wanted to talk about Michigan's offense and new offensive coordinator Kurt Campbell and what exactly we can expect to see from this new 2024 Michigan football offense this upcoming season obviously there's been you know coaching changes uh Chiron Moore last year was Michigan's offensive coordinator and offensive line coach he is now the head coach Grant Nome is the new offensive line coach Steve coula took over Grant nome's older role of tight end's coach and obviously Kirk Campbell is the quarterback's coach and now Michigan's new offensive coordinator and quite frankly it was a pretty easy decision for Sher Moore to make Kurt Campbell his offensive coordinator Campbell he has been a trusted coach of sherone Moors ever since Campbell joined the staff as an analyst in 2022 now in that role he did assist with first and second down passes for the game planning and he had other duties as well now Shan Mo he was a co-offensive coordinator that year and was reportedly in charge of first and second down play calling so both shron Moore and Kirk Campbell kind of worked hand inand and obviously last season Kurt Campbell he was promoted to quarterback's coach but he also called offensive plays in the season opener against East Carolina when Chiron Moore served his one game suspension and obviously that just showed that both Chiron Moore and former head coach Jim Harbaugh already gained faith in Kurt Campbell now in that game obviously Michigan won 30-3 but he guided an offense that totaled 402 yards including 280 passing yards with three passing touchdowns and 122 rushing yards with a score as well JJ McCarthy in that game went 26 for 30 280 yards three touchdowns and was one of the better passing games that we've seen from a Michigan offense so that's why this season many are wondering if Michigan will kind of open it up more this upcoming season and pass the ball more now it does obviously depend on the players you know Kirk Campbell has already said that he is going to run plays set up schemes that fit his players strengths and obviously a main question is if Michigan will have a quarterback that will be able to throw the ball more now we have seen Davis Warren in the spring game already he can certainly throw that ball many believe he has one of the best mechanics Michigan has seen from a quarterback at least you know throwing mechanics wise they also have Jack Tuttle and Alex orgy who has been impressing so far in Fall camp and has been taking a big leap it seems and is currently the the favorite to win the job but Michigan you know they're they're still going to be that team that is willing to run the ball every single play in the game if that means that's what they have to do to win the game especially now with Shir and Moore as head coach they know they know that you know they got to do whatever they got to do to win the game but I tell you what you look at this Michigan offense they have weapons on the team they have Donovan Edwards who is not only a great running back with great speed but he's also a very good receiving back and can catch the ball and you pair that with a tight end like couston lovelin as well as Marlin Klein as well as Speedy receivers out of Tyler mois samaj Morgan and Frederick Moore and you look at an offense that could be very explosive this upcoming season if they put it all together also I think Michigan has another PowerBack like Hassan H Haskins out of c mullings and I think we're going to see that one two punch that we saw in the 2021 season of Blake corm and Hassan H Haskins now even Tyler Morris uh said that Kirk hamble he's going to open the offense up a little more and maybe we'll throw in some things and try some things that maybe we hadn't in the past couple of years but I said he's a great coordinator real smart and he's definitely going to give us multiple ways to attack defenses now even in Fall Camp so far Quinton Johnson actually spoke to the media today and he said that the offense definitely caught a gr during Tuesday's practice and he also said we would say they won yesterday which is good to see for when we go and put the pads on against everybody else but he said as a defense we want complete domination every day so I'd leave it at that we all know you know how good this Michigan defense is so Michigan's offense it's only going to make the offense better going up against a defense like that you know iron sharpens iron but uh Tyler Morris he did say that I think we're trying a lot more we've got a lot more put in and I think open to the Playbook a little more so let me know what you guys think about this in the comments section do you think Michigan will open up the Playbook more would they be passing the ball more you know as far as the identity I don't think the identity is going to change Michigan is still going to be able to run the ball but I do think having Kirk Campbell as the offensive coordinator it's pretty exciting I think we're going to see some different looks some more explosive plays potentially in the passing game and he is a bright young coach on the rise and I do think this this offense is being slept on for Michigan they are pretty underrated going into this season a lot of people don't really believe in them I think they're going to surprise some people this upcoming season again they have a lot of speed they have added depth to their wide receiver room which they needed to do they got back a tall receiver out of am Moran Walker they added a Youngtown State transfer CJ Charleston who many have said has already made some real good plays in Fall Camp thus far so I'm sure we'll see him you know in the mix there but I think they got a lot of players that can go out there make plays and be a playmaker for this offense now I do want to go a little bit more in depth on Kirk Campbell's coaching career his first full-time coaching role was at tiffen a division 2 school where he coach the wide receivers and tight ends he's also the offensive coordinator at division 2 elderson broos from 2012 to 2016 while also serving as assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach in his 5 years there the offense average 34 points per game he was also a named head coach there but was only in the role for 5 months before he took an offensive analyst role at Penn State now in in his two of his three seasons there Penn State had a top 15 offense in college football he was also involved with quarterback meeting scouting future opponents in game planning during his tenure there he also had a small hand in developing three future NFL quarterbacks out of Trace Murley Sean Clifford and will Levis then from there he he went to Old Dominion and he was the offensive coordinator from 2020 to 2021 they didn't play in 2020 due to co but they did become bull eligible for the second time in program history in 2021 in that season Campbell's offense averaged 28.5 points and 385.16221300 actually took a drastic dip and after his dismissal from Old Dominion Campbell joyan Michigan as an offensive analyst and obviously when Matt Weiss was dismissed in the 2023 off season cample took the quarterback's coach job and now here he is as the quarterback's coach and offensive coordinator for Michigan so as you can see he has experience everywhere he's gone he has had some good success he's obviously already shown it on the recruiting Trail as well he's gotten the fourstar did Davis he already has a top 100 quarterback in the 2026 class committed out of Brady Hart and also the 2025 Four Star Quarterback Carter Smith so he's proven he is a very good recruiter and like I said this Michigan offense this upcoming season can be explosive I'm very excited to see you know what Kurt Campbell schemes up what different looks he has he's already shown some of it in the East Carolina game where Michigan was passing the ball very good and kind of surprised some people in the season opener that they were passing the ball so much compared to running the ball but it was very nice to see now obviously you know it was just East Carolina also in that game they were stacking the box I remember quite a bit so that probably made it even easier for Kirk Campbell as the offensive coordinator but again you know the the decision for Chiron Moore to promote Kirk Campbell to the offensive coordinator position was a very very easy decision and I think we may see why this season while watching this Michigan offense but let me know in the comments section down below what you guys think what your guys predictions are for this offense and uh if you're excited to see potentially a more explosive Michigan offense and more explosive passing game with Kurt Campbell as the offensive coordinator but with that that's going to wrap up today's video hope you guys did enjoy if you did make sure you guys go ahead drop a
