welcome to the channel my name is matis today we're going to talk about Neil gaiman's 1602 which has fantastic art by Andy cubert I had stopped at the halfway point of the series where doom and his forces had destroyed what was left of the Templar knights and captured their sacred treasure Doom thinks that this treasure is some type of weapon that will help him take over the world also at this moment of the story Doom had captured one of Nick Fury's best spies Matt Murdoch that even though he has the powers of Daredevil he never actually converts into Daredevil himself also we had learned in the story that Dr Doom had captured and kept in his dungeon the fantastic form also what had happened is that the Queen of England had died King Jacob had taken over the throne and one of his first acts because it seems that he really hates witch breed which is how they call mutants in this reality he sends Nick Fury to capture and arrest Xavier and his students so what happens is Nick Fury through Doctor Strange discovers that Dr Doom has his hands on the Templar treasure we do have to knowe that there's actually a decoy treasure and then he also has the real treasure he's just not aware of it it's under the protection of a captured monk whose name is Donald Blake so I sort of spoiled things there so Nick Fury's like oh crap now how we going to fix this situation so as the great pragmatist that Fury is he's actually going to use his brand new prisoners Xavier and his X-Men to help him get to lat varia and get that Templar treasure to safety so what ends up happening is that Fury breaks the Xmen out of prison they steal a ship and with the combined powers of Xavier students they're able to make the ship fly and they go all the way to Laria and when I'm referring to combined Powers it's just basically Xavier G gray and cyclops combining their powers so now we have this ship flying through the sky I guess this Echoes Shield's headquarters in the 616 Universe while all this is going down doctor strange has a astroplane encounter with the Watcher and I want to warns doctor strange that something has arrived to their timeline a time traveler that's disrupting everything that the arrival of this person is the one responsible for all these weird natural disasters that have been going on for the last 20 years and things are just going to get worse and worse if they don't find this person and take him back to where he came from that this whole timeline possibly can collapse I love this interaction between this doctor strange and this Watcher because Stephen is having a real hard time trying to grasp what he's being told the concept of time travel is just so foreign for him so while all this is going down Nick Fury ship finally arrives to L varium so now we have the X-Men fighting against Doom's minions who in this case are a army of vultures like Spider-Man villain vultures taking advantage of the situation Matt Murdoch is able to escape from prison and he helps Donald Blake to escape tomb Donald Blake is like please help me find my staff also the Fantastic Four are able to escape Doom's dungeons so the obvious setup that we get with Donald Blake is that his staff is actually muler it was originally discarded by Doom he didn't know that this was the Templar treasure so when Blake is able to find it again he converts into the 1602 version of Thor so during this whole story we got this conspiracy revolving around the Templar knights and their treasure and if it's discovered that Thor exists the Catholic Church would just fall apart that's why the Templars had to keep it hidden in away and they had removed it from Jerusalem and they were taking it to England and it would be hidden away under Nick Fury's watchful eye his only eye I guess also while all this was going down we discovered that King Jacob has turned on the Inquisition now the 16002 version of the Inquisition was basically Bally Magneto's Brotherhood of evil mutants they were hiding the fact that they were witch readed so what happens is that King Jacob not only finds out that the witch breed he discovers that Magneto was actually Jewish that he was taken in by a priest when he was very young and that it's hinted that this priest was also a pedophile so Magneto is like okay cat out of the bag so he uses his powers openly he liberates himself and his two kids quick silver and Scarlet Witch I don't know why he doesn't kill King Jacob on the spot but I guess they need him for the second volume so now going back to Nick Fury and his forces they're able to defeat Doom now they're flying back to England and they have a couple of new passengers they have Thor the Fantastic th Matt Murdoch but the thing is that they realize that they are all fugitives so they make a quick stop in England they pick up roas and Virginia deare and actually set sail to the new world to roke where they can seek Refuge but the thing is that Jean Gray can't keep the ship up in the air anymore but good thing they're over the ocean by this time the strain of using our powers this way actually leads to her death also I forgot to mention that by this time in the story King Jacob had executed Doctor Strange so strang's understudy and wife Clea has been tasked with trying to find this time traveler so we get this moment in the story where we have Clea and Virginia Dare and she thinks that Virginia is a time traveler and that since the moment she was born all these weird Supernatural events had started but out of nowhere roas Virginia dar's bodygard interjects into the conversation this guy never talks and he says I'm the time traveler and we get one of the weirdest plot twists that I ever seen in a story that I feel that it makes or breaks this story we discover that roas comes from the future where superheroes have been rendered Obsolete and purp man has taken over the United States and they threw Captain America into a portal because he was just a nuisance and he had popped up in the past in this new timeline and for a really long time Captain America was with amnesia he didn't remember who he was but when he discovers that basically he has arrived at the birth of America so what happens is once our heroes arrive to roke Nick Fury discovers this whole situation that basically the presence of Captain America in this reality can end up destroying everything so what happens is he basically clovers Captain America with a rock on the head and takes him dragon in Back to the singularity point where he came out of this is probably one of the most humiliating defeats that cap has ever had and that's where the story basically ends like we have some Shenanigans with the 1602 Bruce Banner who's like an agent for King Jacob but it's not
