the room early so we can start on time and so of course Vince Waits until there's 30 seconds before the show to start telling this long- winded story that was very interesting I wanted to tell the house Joe is in the house people checking in left and right hit the like button as you come in tonight we're not going to waste any time because we are on the clock both of these guys the reason you know promptness was was asked today is because these guys both have hard outs at six o'clock so we don't have a lot of time to waste we're gonna start off with a blue gold draft we are each going to draft three offensive players and two defensive players for tomorrow's game little fantasy draft and we'll see how they hold up okay so here's what I got I got I like all transparency I've got a Jesse slip I've got a Vince slip I've got a mi slip okay so now have just wrote me on it yeah I know I should have I was GNA put the winner on it but oh confidence the confidence be a little bit too much okay so the three slips one two three into the Hat we're going to draw for the draft order first one first one gets first pick or first or is this like the lottery well this is yeah first one gets first pick so Vince gets the first pick of course it was [Laughter] Vince and this is gonna snake so if you have the the last pick you get the first pick Sean final final Jesse okay so Vince is on the clock we won't um let's not take a whole lot of time let's get through our draft here I'm ready CJ Carr put it on the board Vince is going with Carr I was wondering you know like what uh this was going to look look like in terms of you know we're each going to get a quarterback out of this deal um I'm struggling you know Vince and I were talking before the show like who's on what team and all that kind of stuff I'm not GNA overthink it though I'm just gonna go great house smart with my first pick so Jesse now you get two picks in a row I'll go Jeremiah Love good pick he was my next choice if I didn't take great house and then now you get another pick didn't think past round one huh hey I'm trying to remember here we go this is what I want right here come on come on we put a timer on them you get 10 seconds you get 10 seconds 10 nine and you've already got like 30 seconds so far Chris Mitchell three Chris Mitchell okay I like that so now it is to yep I'm gonna go KK Smith he was the first receiver drafted and now it's D Vince I will take Micah Gilbert Just because of the lack of wide receivers on the gold team okay feel like he's got a 50-50 shot of catch in every ball and then that gives you the next pick as well right I will take Jaden Mickey I just feel like he's clutch he's gonna come through with a big pick pick maybe a pick six I think would be fantastic going over to the defense been wearing the purple shirt underneath for his mom I'm feeling it okay and now it is back to me again I'm gonna go Jaden Osberry I like I like uh you know because I'm wondering you know like Xavier wats might be you know like sort of you know you know actually now I'm gonna go Jaden Ury I'm gonna go Ury all right okay so Jesse you've got two picks coming now I'll take KVA okay um and then I'll take a Don Schuler I like that one well okay now you're closed out on your defense yep and I guess it is back to me I've got one defensive player Jaden urry I'll go Christian Gray and that puts it to Vince right yep I'm gonna go Drake Bowen the other middle linebacker so hopefully you can wreck up some points there okay and then my final pick has to be an offensive player and and you already have mikah Gilbert I do and I also have CJ Carr so I've got one more offensive player this might surprise some people but this is the blue gold game I'm going with Justin fiser oh jay fish all right lack of depth for the gold he might get a goal line situation or two in and he might play the whole second half so you know that that's what I'm counting on right now yeah the Misha Wonka option quarterback okay so Jesse all that's left for you and I we each have to pick a quarterback so you've got first run of it who you going with um no V you have the first go of it because Vince just went yeah that's true oh that's true okay well I'll go minchie then I'm such an honest and Noble guy I'd have caught him I'd have caught you okay so what do your teams look like here Rob quick put put your team together real quick and and let's see who we got who we've all got so I'll go first since I had first pick I've got CJ Carr quarterback I've got Justin fiser in the backfield I've got Micah Gilbert catching balls on the defensive side of the ball I've got Jaden Mickey and I've got Drake Bowen okay my team uh quarterback steveen jelli running back Jeremiah Love wide receiver Chris Mitchell defensive side of the ball I have middle linebacker KVA and in the secondary I have the Young safety a Don Schuler Don Schuler all right so I have Kenny mie as my quarterback I've got Jaden grous and KK Smith as my two receivers they're one on each team by the and it's that's smart it's notable KK Smith basically it's KK Smith and Micah Gilbert most likely a bunch of Walk-Ons for the gold so right that's why I went KK Smith with the second one and like I said I could have been overthinking with whether or not to take great house but you know so those are my offensive guys along with Kenny mchy and then I've got Jaden Osberry and Christian Gray as my two defensive players I think KK Smith is gonna be your exactor whether or not he has a strong game he was uh the first receiver dra I think he was either the first or the second receiver drafted I can't remember off the he was first he was first because I was kind of surprised by that um but here's what I'll say looking at these teams I will say Jesse has the best team on paper on paper on paper Schuler Mitchell love I mean it's a solid Squad it's a solid the only thing I'm not sure is um like the linebackers like the reason I took Osberry is because I feel like he can cover more space and you know potentially maybe even get a couple sacks in that kind of thing like the inside linebacker true inside type guys I wasn't sure like I'm not sure how much running there's going to be in this game for example yeah that's good point that's why I stayed away from the inside linebacker types fair enough fair enough so you're hoping that these linebackers make some uh assist tackles on some pass plays yes so I know Vince you and I did this last year Jesse you didn't do the fantasy draft with us last year did you no I didn't think so yeah I lost badly mainly because of Jaden great house that's right if I remember correctly because I it started out really good for me I can't remember exactly the details I remember sitting there next to you in the Press Box being like this is great this is going Fant and then Jaden great house went off and I lost badly uh is what ended up happening so hopefully that's not the case because again Sean goes with Jaden great house as his guy that's true two years in a row I get him don't I I think this should start the spring should Mark a series of mini games between us and it should restart every spring game I think this is like the start of when we start tracking these sort of things and then we do a yearin conclusion at the start of next spring game so you're saying we should keep these guys throughout the season and see what kind of production well or that or like you know we do something just like every week we can draft a team every week or something yeah or like you know or like keep record of our props that we like and stuff like this is like an accumulation of a multitude of different PS throughout the season and it's it goes to like a big board of who's who's doing the best throughout the entire season I just need your prize picks to hit that's all all I need all right let's get into some regular questions for this fill in the blank the number one thing you need to see in the blue gold game is blank look this is gonna sound way way too coachy but I just want to see no injuries like I I know that's ridiculous I but we're everybody's already all clutching their pearls about you know Riley Leonard and you know his ankle and all that it's like Notre Dame and us we can't handle another injury like a major injury to a starter and they just got to get out of this thing clean they got to get out of this game clean without any injuries and I'll be happy I don't really think the performance of anybody on the field is going to change my opinion a whole lot uh on anybody and so just be healthy please get out of this thing healthy okay for me I I think the word that comes to mind is offensive fluency ER or fluent fluency yeah fluency I want to see a fluid offense um fluidity you're watch game brother this is the blue gold game fluid fluidy you know I just want to see what this new offense looks like how Dynamic is it you know what the Playbook sort of looks like what personnel groupings that we're going to be maybe accustomed to seeing because at least in the spring you're going to see a ton of Base packages out of the offense right so I don't know I I think that's what's going to be the most enjoyable for me because I want to see the evolution or the progression of the offense I want to see how it looks under the new you know Mike Den Brock and everything else because I I have a good idea of what the defense is going to be it's just kind of new pieces reloading like the framework is is all there but they've stripped down the framework offensively and I just want to see how that's going to look how fluid is it you know does it does the offense you know is it able to accomplish what it wants downfield is it able to run the run the ball well they able to set each other up that's what I'm most looking forward to and how much is it really gonna matter considering you don't have Riley Leonard out there that's true you know like but at the same you know I think you could look at it on two sides one oh we don't want to show too much because we got a new offense and this and that and everything else but at the same time it's like it's no real secret what Mike Den Brock's offense is different Personnel than he had at LSU obviously but he's not going to do anything drastically different so I'd like to see some of that as well and and and kind of I guess maybe piggybacking a little bit I just mostly want to see I mean no injuries is obviously a good thing you know a a a creative looking offense that's a good thing I just want to see clean football I think I don't want to see a bunch of mistake prone yeah like choppy ugly even though it's a spring game it's like come on like don't don't gouge our eyes out here yeah exactly and I I I don't mind seeing a turnover or two but I don't want to see some easy pick six like sixes like we saw last week that is not a good thing those were exciting for the guy for the defensive players who made the plays and as it turned out it gave us a a lot of things to talk about over the course of the week and but but that's that's not what I want to see I i' I'd actually prefer to see very clean football out there on both sides of the ball but mostly on the offense I'd like to see both of those quarterbacks clean some stuff up tomorrow afternoon I just realized Vince has a guy that's playing on both teams racking up double stats in this little draft that we did who's that CJ Carr oh that was the whole point that's I I'm gonna be curious here's what I'm well let me see does does this fit into like anything no it doesn't this doesn't fit it so we'll go ahead and stick with that thought with the quarterbacks because CJ Carr is going to wear the green jersey yeah and he will play for both teams tomorrow and then he's also Gonna Be Live unlike Angeli who's wearing the red Kenny meni is GNA be live as well I wonder which team he ends up taking the most most snaps for you know like is it more for Kenny meni does he come in more for Steve angelli if it's angelli like I'm thinking if if if we're GNA divvy it out he'll come in first I think for the gold at some point okay and then I think the opportunity that he gets with the blue which is ang jelli is maybe later on like he ends up running a bulk of the offense in the second half for the blue that assumes angelli does well if angelli strugg I don't think that CJ is coming in to replace him I Chief Brody says I'm a dirty CJ hater I picked one pick in the draft yeah he went with him number one like like I am the biggest Pro CJ guy out there like I I'm majorly Pro CJ here's also what I think and another reason that I picked him in the first place was that I'm not sure I am interested to see kind of who he comes in for and all of that but at the same time I think they're going to treat him like the third string quarterback and what that tells me is he's playing for both teams the entire second half and so I I think they that's a lot of that's a lot of reps though to be but it's running clock yeah so it's not going to be that many reps you know what I mean like I don't know that's just I'm hoping for a win here Styers trying to remember how they did it last year and it's amazing how you don't even you know like it was similar last year but it's amazing how you don't even you know we don't remember even just a year ago which you know maybe says something I don't know well you know they're there are also people out there that think the red jersey is a disadvantage Chief is putting that in there and you know the because Angeli is going to be the only one wearing red right and is but he also doesn't run Jesse brought this yesterday he's the he's the one who runs the least of all of them yeah correct he's a that's right I think you're going to see some of those plays those mini and Carr are going to run more of or maybe a quarterback design Run play because that's the only reason why they would be green you know what I mean like they're not just going to sit back there and allow defense alignment to tee off on them on like a Blindside sack like that's not going to happen the reason why they're green is because they want to move out the pocket they want the defense to get good Pursuit you know that sort of stuff so it's like I I think that's a disadvantage for in jelli and I'm kind of upset I got you know stuck with them at the quarterback position because he's not going to do much outside of just dropping back and throwing the ball yeah you're definitely not going to get any running yards out of him or very many you would now watch him bust off like a 50 yard run or something I know right like that you know seriously so yeah that's going to be it is going to be something to watch how exactly they employ those quarterbacks and CJ Carr specifically but Vince is banking pretty heavily that CJ Carr is GNA be a major factor I also think he's going to play well you know what I mean and that may force him to be on the field a little bit more it might force them to be off the field a little bit more because I don't think the staff wants a definitive 2 three4 Le going out of spring and I think they're gonna kind of manage this game in that manner does that make sense like I they don't want any one of these guys to leave you know what I mean I I don't know they definitely don't want CJ Carr to be a star the way he was last week you know like in comparison to Steve anelli that is the last thing they want in this game Bingo agree with that that's you know we started off the show yesterday and talked about or not the show but we started rapid fire like the fact that Steve angelli was the number one pick in the draft it just feels like everything is being set up to make Steve angelli feel good coming into this weekend and agre and I you know it's all well and good that angelli was the number one pick but CJ Carr is playing for both teams and that was already part of the rules you know what I mean and so I yeah it's like okay you got the picture with the coach with the Jersey it's awesome but you know yeah well yeah when you had Carr already designated playing for both teams you know again what's why do why do you need to pick quarterbacks first you you could have picked any position first but they set it up so that Steve Angeli could be the number one overall pick before any of the positions I absolutely agree we fill in the blank the most shocking thing that could happen in Saturday's blue gold game is blank uh the most shocking thing that can happen in the blue gold game is CJ Carr going out and stealing the show because I think no I I mean shocking because I don't think that that's what not that because of what we just talked about yeah like I don't think that it that has like a I don't I'm not saying that as in like it has a small likelihood of happening I'm saying it it happens what the ripple effect is on the quarterback room on you know the perception of what if rileigh Leonard isn't gonna play who's going to be the starting quarterback I just think it creates a lot of chaos the the more CJ Carr or Kenny mini perform and especially if they outperform steveen jelli on Saturday you know this is funny because I went the complete opposite direction with this particular question like if some random player gets player of the game and all that like I almost feel like that's anticipated like so that wouldn't be a big shocker to me because there's always somebody in the blue gold game that makes a name for themselves and that's literally their entire Irish career right right right um and so to me the most shocking thing is that is that Stephen jelly outplays everybody and it's not close like that he's Head and Shoulders above the other two like that would shock me to be perfectly honest honest with you that would shock I am fully anticipating the best case scenario for Steve Angel is that he plays even with everybody yeah to me the most shocking thing is if we see three interceptions again this weekend I just I don't think that we're going to see that this week you know in in this game like we did last week and and in fact you know people are going to probably be coming at us going oh did you really you know was it really as bad as you said with these guys and you know was it really as good as you said with Co all this different right kind of stuff I just don't think that we're going to see that like the the the the turnovers to that degree I mean two pick sixes like Marcus Freeman said he's never had two pick sixes in a jersey game before you know so I don't I don't think we're going to see those kind of big- time mistakes made by made by the quarterbacks I think they're gonna do everything they can especially the two guys at the top of the depth chart they're going to do everything they can to put those guys in the best position to have success out there as possible so I'd be shocked if we see Major League mistakes like we had last week fill in the blank the most overrated thing that could happen in the game is blank I still kind of feel like we're sticking with the with the quarterbacks because that's what everybody's gonna talk about when this thing is over good bad different right it's the quarterback play so whether you know the overrated thing quarter back play that's the answer to me because it's either you know this guy did great and this guy sucks or the other way around you know the most overrated thing is going to be quarterback play absolutely 100% I and I I want to have a different answer because the last three questions have basically all been quarterbacks but that will 100% be what we're talking about on Monday is the quarterback play that's what we're GNA lead off with that's it no matter what we're going to be talking about the quarterbacks Monday yeah I mean we've been we I mean we could have we could have said this the you know the day after last spring that next spring next spring the day after two days after the game what are we gonna be talking about the quarterbacks that's what we're always going to talk about gold game come on let's have some originality the what what do you got the most the most overrated thing that we'll be talking about after this game is how the defense was more dominant than the offense and the offense didn't look quite as good spring games are set up for defensive the defensive side of the ball to win especially when they've been playing against this or repping against the same offense the same plays throughout the entire spring like the offense isn't going to pull out a bunch of you know trick plays or or you know things that deviate from their base packages because it's a spring game there's people there you don't want to put that stuff out there and so I think the defense is going to perform better they're going to dominate on their side of the ball and people are going to overreact and talk about how the offense isn't going to be any better under Den Brock and it's just that's not going to be the case that's a that's a fair point too here's real quick I kind of wrote out like what the defenses you know like who's like here's the blue defense that Kenny minchie Jabron Payne KK Smith Micah Gilbert Cooper Flanigan Justin Fischer will be going up against you've got RJ Obin and bubacar tayori as the ends riy Mills is inside there'll be some reserves he's got more Reserve type guys inside with him but you've also got Jaden Mickey Jordan Clark Micah Bell um Drake Bowen Jaylen Sneed and Jack Kaiser on the defense that'll be going up against that's almost a starting defense right there now the weakness is going to be and you know unless these guys overperform minin talich will be the safeties so that's but they've been playing together all Spring right but on the other side you've got Xavier Watson ad Don Schuler going up up against angelli but then also up front you've got Josh Burnham Jason on Howard Cross Jordan batell across the front KVA Jaden Osberry you've also got Junior tuy Alam Maka as Reserve like they're loaded on the defensive line on this this uh this Gold Line but then you got Christian Gray chance Tucker Watson Schuler in the secondary that's what man so you got Watson Schuler on the back end you got KVA and Osberry very athletic linebackers controlling kind of the middle of the outside can we do a trade here I I'll give angelli in love for meni and KK Smith right now no trades no trades trade window closed no I think that's a good point Jess like like these defenses good defenses it shows the depth I think that they've got on the defense is just like the defense has been this is the defense has been building for like three years now right like this is something we feel very confident about not only are there ones good but we feel confident about the depth of each position too so it's like I don't feel the same about the offense the offense is going through the rebuild they're not there yet they're still stacking up at those positions so you're saying it's not just necessarily the quarterbacks we're going to be talking about it's going to be how dominant the defense there's just a lot of talented players on that def both defenses when you sit there and you stack Nei neither defense is is is struggling let's just put it that way and so when you can put two defenses on the field and both of them you're like okay like you there go play you know that's that's pretty impressive all by itself right right and now you're asking young quarterbacks not even your you know who you hope to be your starting quarterback day one is g to be out there I just the defense is gonna have a day out there and everyone's gonna come back and say oh it's the offense really better okay but it's again it's they've been going against the same offense the entire spring you know and guess I'll kind of add to that a little bit because like again when you look at the the lines shra cougan Pendleton Wagner and abshure will be going up against Burnham on Cross Batello predominantly on the other side jagas saww Baker Roco Spindler Ashton Craig and then TK Andor nap going up against the Oben Mills bbac car front you know so like I think the most overrated thing is going to be if there are some sacks like we saw last week once again I mean we did come away impressed but it it was it was one versus two and now that it's mixed these mixed groups I think that'll be pretty overrated as well like oh oh boy all these sack you know like people are going to be concerned about the offensive line let's put it that way well and even if the first offensive line was together the entire time I think there would still be some sacks you know what mean and now you're splitting them up and they're going to be peace Meed like you're going to have some issues on the o line there's no doubt about it but the best part is that jay fish is gonna bust through it all and it doesn't matter so going with your guy going with your guy which number is going to be greater the combined total receiving yards of great house and Micah Gilbert or the combined rushing yards of Jeremiah Love and Jabron paint this is an easy one I wish you would have gave Jeremiah I love some credit uh he's going to catch the ball I wish he would have said his total yards that's why I drafted him he's gonna it's not gonna matter it's hey hey this is my turn to talk no I gotta go with I gotta go with Mikey Gilbert uh and jayen greous because of what you were talking about Mikey Gilbert's gonna get a lot of time out there at wide receiver especially probably in the second half with the running clock going so you know and and honestly too if Jeremiah Love is having you know shows when he needs to I don't he might not play towards the end of the you know the end of things uh considering they probably want to keep him pretty healthy um as well so I gotta go with the receiving Ys yeah that was my first gut feeling as well and most of it has to do with the fact that I'm not so sure I trust the offensive lines you know to to Really pound out some some yards on the ground um I think they'll at least do enough schematically offensively to get the ball out of the hands of the quarterbacks get it into the hands of the receivers great house is is QB I mean is is W1 on this team I think he's gonna repeat his you know blue gold game from last year I mean he's gonna have a good game and then mik Gilbert is him and KK Smith one of the other those are the guys you're throwing it to and I think he's going to benefit from that as well so I think that number is going to be both those two combined are gonna be pretty good sized yeah I mean Jesse's right I probably could have fig you know could have come up with a little bit better wording of this question or whatever but I do feel like this is going to be a passing game I know like didn't didn't feel like there was a whole lot of running last week there really or not last week last year but I guess last week as well in the scrimmage I just think I think I think we're going to see a lot more throwing of the football so I think the receivers yards are going to top the running back yards but if I did total yards Jess would it would it change it at all I don't think change it that much it would because I think Jeremiah loves busting some sort of big play I just don't know what is you know is it is he going to be lined up in the slot is it going to be a running play Jeremiah love will have a big play and it will go for a touchdown I just don't know if it'll be on the ground banking on it banking on it write it down next to my roster Jesse says Jeremiah love big touchdown over under four and a half total touchdowns that are going to be scored in the game I think that's easily over how is it easily over if it's gonna be such a defensive game that you're talking about no I I I think the defense is going to do some things but you know like that's still two you know basically two touchdowns per team and then one of them catches the straight touchdown to win you know I I still think the defense is going to do a lot of things and we'll see more than four and a half touchdowns okay I'm going to say under uh and I if I'm remembering correctly well last year was 24 to nothing so there was not four total touchdowns yesterday last year it was uh obviously three and a field goal s where's my bell dang it I'm not home uh I'm trying to remember what the score of the Blue Gold game was last year I don't know that they even had yeah they don't that's all right that's all right you so I look I think the offense is going to be challenged uh and I think that if it does go over that number there will be at least one defensive touchdown but I'm gonna say yeah see you got to figure in those pick sixes baby those count all from andeli I agree if it does go over it's going to be because it is going to be because there's a defensive touchdown or or something like that remember there's not going to be any kickoff there's not going to be any punts there there's only going to be one kickoff should say to start the game that's basically a ceremonial kickoff right start the game you know and and probably going to The End Zone it won't even matter and as salty says second half there's gonna be a running clock you know so there is going to be less time to score as well so I'm going to go under I think it's going to be under four and a half total touchdown so who wins this game Al Washington's blue team or d mulla's gold team remember the blue is Angeli in company the gold is minie in company no the blue is CJ car and Company and the gold is also CJ Carr and Company Vince is just all in on CJ car he's like doing his best Mike Greenberg impersonation on today uh but no I think the I do whether it's Angeli or Carr doesn't really matter I think the offense for the blue team is deeper and more stacked than the gold teams offense I think both team I think both defenses are pretty comparable to be honest with you yeah but I think the blue offense is better yeah Carberry again there's no punting this game no punting in this game nobody I reached out I did reach out to Notre Dame to see if they wanted my kid to reclassify and I did not get an answer back so tough I have to go with d Mulla because I have to believe in my quarterback first and foremost Stephen jelly um well that's the other team sorry wait what I thought D McCulla had Stephen jelly no D McCulla has Kenny mie my quarterback ah well I'm conflicted now that's tough because I can't I can't switch on step and jelli because then I'm rooting against you know my quarterback but I according to Vince CJ Carr is the only quarterback who's gonna coach or play for the blue this weekend so but I was more fired up listen to D mulla's team that's the team I'd rather play for for in this scrimmage so I'm really conflicted here I'm going to go I'm going to go with d McCulla squad though just because you know he's gonna be bringing it straight to you all game I mean there's really only there's really only one answer to this question um we're not going to be dealing in adjectives we're going to be dealing in verbs straight action and all those verbs are going to be fueled by being free so there you have it Mr D Mulla D3 himself I mean he's putting it out there he's like he's he's he's leading with his chin is what he's doing and and setting himself you know I don't know if there's going to be any rope of dope or or what he's not he's not built like like Rope A Dope he's built like you know chiseled out of granet himself so I'm gonna I'm leaning mine towards D3 because again like especially that gold defense Burnham on Cross Patell KVA Osberry Christian Gray Watts Schuler Tucker I like that I like that defense quite a bit you know even though maybe their the the the gold offense is a little bit lighter on you know some of the higher end skill position Talent overall they've still got some solid guys out there and I won't be surprised if he tries to pound it a little bit with Jabron Payne as well for that matter you know well and at the end of the day CJ Carr is going to lead the game-winning drive just doesn't I just don't know which team all right all right so Vince is uh so what's what are our piics did Jesse who did you end up going with you went with Dand Dand Vince I guess I'm going blue to be different I'll go Blue let's go all right I'm going gold as well I'm going the only time you'll ever hear me say go Blue in the same sentence but that's all right all right so the NCAA today approved the use of helmet Communications they added the two-minute warning as well for games this season one at a time is there any downside that you guys can see to the helmet coms no I think it's going to be great for the game I'm surprised it's taken this long or should I say Michigan cheating for so long in order for this to become effective it's just how you know the whole MLB comms came about when the Astros were stealing signs all it takes is someone to steal signs and then we get comms and years and so you know that's it sucks that it has to come to this because there's no it takes away from you know kind of the Integrity or the you know kind of again that just being honest right that's kind of sad but I think it's going to make the game smoother I don't have to see the dummy signs on the sideline anymore the guys you know flying different boards up and different waving different you know having different colored shirts on and everything else so I think it's less of a distraction and it's going to help the games fluidity it there is absolutely no downside to it the the fact that it took them this long to to to figure this out is absolutely ridiculous I was at a high school baseball game yesterday and they're using the coach to player communication for the catcher like if high schools can figure this out then why can't why can't the NCAA it's just it's ridiculous to me and so uh I there is no downside to it I think it's better It prepares these guys for the next level which is what you're supposed to be doing in college anyway preparing for your career and so even though it's a small number of guys that are going to the NFL it still prepares them for that and so that's exact that it's 100% no downside uh for the helmet to helmet you know communication I don't think so either and the way it works is they have once the play clock starts they have until the 15 there's 15 seconds left that's when it shuts off a lot 15 so they basically have what 25 seconds basically because it's 40 second play clock right yeah so that's they've got a lot of time Josh asked what if they don't get to play call 15 seconds well they got to figure something out quarterback goes to the line of scriage and calls a I guarantee it's easier to get it done with that than it was the old way if you can't get it done the new way there's no way you get you can't get it done in 25 seconds talking into the quarterback's ear as opposed to you know relay something from down to the Press Box then signal it at that point it's just user error or indecisiveness yes 100% like if you can't get the play in that's ridiculous not only can you get the play in you can coach jum the quarterback for another 10 seconds about where to throw the ball you can call the play and say hey this is where you want to look just a reminder priest look here yeah that's what you know we had that sound bite from Mike Den Brock on earlier this week talking about it and that's exactly what he said is like you can kind of you know you're gonna get the play called then he's going to get it called and then as he goes to the line of scrimmage until it gets to 15 seconds you can keep talking to him so like hey man like look over here you got this over here you got this over here you know like we noticed the safety takes a step forward on the snap of the ball you know look to that side of like there's a million things that you can say and there's so much time 25 seconds I thought it was going to be 15 seconds that they had to actually get the play in listen that's longer than the pitcher even has in in baseball you know what I mean what I'm saying like this is what I'm saying and I realize the clock starts you know as soon as the play is dead I get that but if you're a professional play caller you already know what you're calling exactly W within like two plays probably maybe three like this is what you know down in distance situ you know wherever on the field that kind of stuff so but you know which play you're calling you I think play already yeah they're gonna end up shrinking that I almost guarantee I think that's that's too much time it's probably best to start off with more time in this first season just to make sure yeah I get that what about the what about the two-minute warning you guys buy or sell that I sell that I I I don't need that in college there already enough stopage there already a long enough halftime uh it's just another commercial segment to get in well no no this is what this is what I was going to clarify because I did read this today it is not going to be a commercial break is what they say it's gonna be a brief stoppage just to sort of alert everybody that you know because remember in the last two minutes of each half the rules change where you go back to the old rules where incompletion you know like first down stop the clock and you know all that different kind of stuff so I think that's what it's going to be it's just going to be like okay we stopped down two minutes left we're under the new rules and now we move on is the way it was that I read about ah so it's almost like a reminder right right yeah it's almost yeah the two-minute reminder instead of the two-minute warning yeah I read the same thing that you read and the whole time I'm reading it I'm thinking to myself give it a year there'll be commercials that's all I could think of it's like there's no way these TV stations are going to be like oh yeah no big deal another stoppage and play we don't natural break yeah like come on no way no way I buy the two-minute warning though because of because of the fact that you are switching to these you know back to the listen I it's G come down to situationally in a in a in a big game we're going to be like ah yes you know fourth quarter two-minute warning we can we can get a break here you know come up with a nice play or it's going to hurt us at some point and we're be like dang you know I wish they didn't have that two-minute warning I think it's just GNA become so situational uh of of you know be like when it benefits you and then when it kind of you know works against you so right now I'm more so on the fence um I just don't I think the the college game is already slow enough and so when you add more stoppage that's my only kind of but remember they changed the clock last year so that the clock kept running and you know because it didn't stop on first downs and stuff like that so didn't feel any shorter to me nope me either just saying you really couldn't tell the difference no no they up maybe eight minutes I think on average off the game or something like that so there's a lot of talk about Bill bich of course this week and if he'll ever coaching the NFL again and I saw one of our Champions Lounge subscribers post something on the board the other day about what about bellich coaching in college so do you guys buy or sell bill bellich as a college coach do you buy or sell that happening that's a huge sell for me huge sell number one he would get so annoyed with college players and then they would leave and he would get annoyed with the portal and he would you know he will not have the control that he wants in college it used to be the other way around if you wanted control you you were a college coach you know as opposed to you know you know millionaires that you're trying to coach that is the complete opposite now because at least guys in the NFL have contracts and they have to stick around you know for for a little while I I just don't think he'll have the control that he wants and he will for lack of a better term piss off too many kids and too many moms and too many dads who are way more involved at the Collegiate level than they are at the NFL level and they're not going to like what he has to say it it's a disaster waiting to happen not one that I wouldn't mind watching but I just don't see doing it so I think it's a sell it's a 75% sell because one he's not recruiting and two basically a lot of what Vince was talking about like he ran a stringent program in the NFL like guys would get vened if they were late to meetings imagine how that translates to the college game right like I don't think the amount of rule R and you know how I wouldn't say serious because you have to run it that way but I just don't think that he he would have the patience to deal with some of the more amateurish you know foolishness that sort of stuff when they're in the NFL at least that they're more so or you would hope you know men but and when they're in the NFL they're under contract when they're in college there's nothing responsible you can leave within a year yeah that's right leaves because they're tired of it but the 25% of me buying it would be if he had the opportunity I think to do something with his son somewhere like I don't maybe they were I don't think Bill bich would be a head coach but I think maybe his son would be a head coach and Bill bich would be like a defensive coordinator or something I think that's the only way that you could see him as in college that has something to do with his son I don't generally disagree with anything either of you guys said to me it comes down to this the man is 72 years old and it's not like the age thing but the man is 72 years old he doesn't care about coaching in college what he cares about right now is his ego and he needs 26 wins to catch Don schula for the most wins in NFL history that's what that's what Bill bellich cares about he doesn't care about the actual coaching he wants to coach in the NFL so he can catch Don schula who obviously you know like division right you know all that kind of you that that's what Bill bich cares about he wants to be the NFL's all-time wins leader I think he's going to do his year in TV this year just like we've seen other people do and hope that he can kind of massage his way back into the NFL next year otherwise I don't think he has any interest in coaching in college I think his interest is specific to coaching for probably three years so that he can get the alltime record never thought of it that way I like it but I also you know the points that you made about recruiting everything I completely agree with all that stuff as well so the Last Dance premiered four years ago today 30 for 30 how musty viewing was the last dance for you guys when it came out go ahead Jess I'll let you go first since you didn't live through it yeah it was like a two or three out of 10 I haven't I haven't even finished it yet I think I've only watched a few of the the episodes I definitely didn't watch them as they were coming out like as they were releasing like a live TV series yeah I've I've only caught a few so it wow I mean like I don't even know what to say about that guy oh did you get muted did did somehow you get muted over there I don't know what happened there wow that is not the answer that I was anticipating I'm not going to lie um it was musty viewing for me because that is literally the last time I watched the NBA when I was a kid when I was growing up was the Jordan era and I wanted to relive that so I watched every episode as it came out even more so I listened to the podcasts that they would do it was the director oh really I forget who else was on it but they would do a podcast after each episode came out and they would talk about it so like I was all in when this was going on and if I'm mind that I never listened to those it was good um I think it was um oh why am my mind is a blank one of the Fab Five Jaylen Rose it was I Jaylen Rose and the and the uh the director did it together okay um it was good and and I think I think the guy that directed it might be a different guy but I think the guy that directed that also directed The Fab Five 30 30 that I believe that is accurate I think that's where that relationship came from right um it was a it was a really good podcast as well and so and I believe everything came out in the summertime so so I was listening to the podcast while I was cutting the grass and then I would watch the episodes when they would come out so it was musty TV for me especially in the summer when there's nothing on it wasn't the summer though all your Nostalgia well there you go do you remember what was going on four years ago it was Co it was we were a month into Co that's right everyone was at the bit oh we got the last dance we can get through Co but what the hell were you doing Jesse what were you watching you w watching that like I had stuff to do I was finishing a masters there was no Sports on anywhere right and then they decided remember they were gonna kind they Sports is better than that they had been trying to decide okay when are we GNA drop this series and that whole thing and when the pandemic hit they went okay cut off let's let's let's get the First episodes out to me the only downside was the last one wasn't even done yet right they were still working on you know the last couple episodes as they were going on the fact that they released because of that because it was a pandemic and there wasn't anything going on I wish they would have slow played it a little bit more and like not released two episodes per week because they were doing like episode one and two was the first week three and four the next and that whole thing Tiger King that's good I was watching that I watched all of Tiger King but wow it was it was absolute because of the fact that there was nothing on it was absolute musty to me but you know like Vince you remember I was working at the radio station at that point but the dill weed that I was doing a daily talk show with while there was no Sports going on was so into his feelings about his hatred for Michael Jordan he couldn't watch it so that we could have content talk about that you remember that you remember that now is this ringing a bell remember remember going into the pandemic when we had a two-hour show and then a couple weeks into the pandemic when our boss decided there's no Sports going on and we're gonna add a third hour to your show so now you're G to do three hours with no Sports going on and so the guy that I'm co-hosting a show with with no Sports going on for over a month and indefinitely we don't know when it's ever coming back wouldn't watch the class dance so that we could you know spend a half an hour every Monday talking about it pathetic high class high class pathetic so for me G tell you story it was it was very must SE TV and you know going back again you know like that's that's really I think like a lot of people our age who aren't you know still into the NBA that was like Peak NBA those 90s you know the Jordan bulls and all that kind of stuff and and it still brought back a you know a good deal of Nostalgia and stuff like that but uh so it was like to me it was a great repri when when nothing else was going on I was loving it I love the fact that we at least had something new to consume every week absolutely I it would have been musty TV for me regardless but the fact that it was the pandemic thank you for reminding me by the way uh pretty much flushed that whole incident out um but it made it even more so because there was nothing else to do it was terrible terrible yes Michael says TV is trash okay well I mean all right but you know you watch sports on TV too so okay we got a few minutes left here Baltimore Orioles debuted their home run Hydration Station this week to celebrate home runs what would your celebration prop be go ahead Jesse what do you got my celebration prop would be having a um a slot machine in The Dugout and you get to crank the lever and you get to hit jackpot that would be my celebration and if I wanted to top it off I'd have like a like You' seen like the the shopping carts or something before where like guys have gone on rides in the shopping carts I would have something like that where someone gives me a a ride to the slot machine you know like in style I sit down I crank the slot machine and I hit jackpot that would be I think a fun Dugout um celebration home run celebration and I actually have it brought up the Hydration Station if we want to give the viewers a look here I this great bring it up throw it up can I do this there you go oh wow it's basically a say it it's literally basically reminds me of college how about that water yes yes I love how creative they get with these like you saw the Angels last year they had like that huge Samurai cap that they put on and I read that that was like an actual you know that was actual Japanese you know samurai gear like they spent $3,000 on that thing um yeah burn baby I've seen I've seen like the white socks they they put on like this this like like uh tux jacket I can't remember what that one is for um they don't bust it out very often so it's okay
